And Queen Joanne Catherall ♥️ don't know it yet. But she is partly responsible 4 the best night of my life ever. I will always love the Human League song which is my favourite Human League song IE.. 1man in my ♥️. Ace band. And so underrated. 1 man in my ♥️. Should of been a number 1 hit 4 the Human League. I love this track. It's one of those songs that just graced the top 40 and disappeared. I'm glad now it's getting some love and it can be appreciated as it should be. Crash certainly was a unique album. But, the League did their best and a number one single in America is nothing to be sniffed at.

It was released in 1986 in the U.S., where it did not chart, but not until two full years after the album on 3 October 1988 in other territories, to promote the band's Greatest Hits album. The music video was a result of Virgin Records beginning to lose faith in the Human League and being reluctant to invest in any further elaborate music videos; so the video was kept deliberately low budget. The video is basically edited clips of all the band’s previous music videos to that point, spliced together with animated stills from the key points from those videos. This was also designed to provide a storyboard which promoted the band’s back catalogue to generate interest in the Greatest Hits compilation, the principal reason "Love Is All That Matters" was released in the first place.

It was in the UK + Ireland-hence why there is also a music video for it!

That's what happens when a record label starts to lose faith in their acts - they slash their budgets for music videos to 30p and a pickled egg. On the flip side regarding this particular video, it was promoting the single from the Greatest Hits album, so Virgin just stuck clips from their other videos together.

That's the Jimmy Jams and Terry Lewis touch, I'm sure. They worked on O'Neal's "Hearsay" album (although not explicitly on 'Criticize' itself) and on 'Human'. There was bound to be crossover :-p !

It's the Jam and Lewis sound. Also appeared on songs like Escapade by Janet Jackson, and Tender Love by the Force MDs.
