practically every international artist flooded Australia in Febuary and March 2024. Way too many shows to keep up with. unfortunately we aren't all made of money! I did see Mr Bungle around the same time!
@@stephenjack437 There were certainly a lot of shows to choose from but this is often the case in those months. It's when the festivals are happening. Adding a tour onto a festival appearance makes the long trip a much better financial opportunity for the bands. Sadly, in the months following, there are far few international tours. I justify my over spending doing the first few months of the year by knowing that I won't be buying as many in the next few months, and the ones I do buy are likely to be cheaper local acts.
@@ChrisPatrick-q6k Sorry, but musically the 90's were an enormous letdown. A few good bands but very bland by comparison to the previous decades. Of course, it all depends on your age and when you first began to seriously listen to music.
Unusual for a band entering their fifth decade as performers to sound so on it and to so clearly still love what they're doing. That enthusiasm and energy really feeds into the crowd enjoyment. Phil must have lived a clean life to preserve his voice to this standard, he sounds excellent. Great show and professional-level recording. Great job.
I rewatched the video yesterday and was impressed with the fun and enthusiasm going on both with the band and the audience. It was a great night. Thanks for commenting.
I was there, front row. It was a magical night, I felt 20 years old again 🎉! Phil, Joanne and Susan sounded fantastic. I hope they come back again soon. Thank you for the video
I am waiting for to see them "on live "since from more than 30 years !!! And my dreams will realize in November ,in Utrecht !!! This is my Number One since from hearing "Dare" at the beginning of 80's ! !!!!
I just came from watching the 1981 video Open Your Heart and they sill sound the same. Phil's voice still so strong and he's getting close to 70 years old. Amazing.
Yes, when I'm seeing a band from the 80s, I always make allowances for the vocalist's voice. But I needn't have bothered with Phil. He still sounds terrific. And my video doesn't do justice to just how good he sounded on the night.
I am really glad to see this. I have seen The Human League twice. For the first time in Newport, South Wales, UK in 2008 (where they opned with 'Seconds' and Phil was wearing a black coat and hoodie) and at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 for the Credo album tour. Lots of love and greetings from India.
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm always pleased when people living in countries that don't get many large tours get to see their favourite bands. RU-vid is very good for that. Thanks for commenting.
@@Peter_LiveMusic Yes absolutely. You are quite right. We don't get such tours over here although the scenario has been changing a bit here in the past decade or so. However, post-punk and synth pop acts go off the radar here and it's the more mainstream chart topping pop and rock acts that continue to make the bill here... I think it is possibly also because there are so many other local distractions and film music as well. Unless, there are real pop-rock culture and musos who dig deep into the alternative scene, you wouldn't be surprised if very few of them even heard of such classic acts like The Human League or The Cure.
@@ajittffcure Sorry for the late reply. I just want to say that India has plenty of great music of its own and has been very influential on Western music from The Beatles onwards. It goes both ways.
@@Peter_LiveMusic I agree about Indian music being influential on Western music, especially with The Beatles and a lot of 60s-70s-80s psychedelia with the drone-like and hypnotic elements, raga (sonic mood paintings), etc.
I have seen them two times in Germany over the last years. The show is awesome. They have class and glamour, changing costumes the whole evening, great Projection and incredible sound. This Video is fine but you cant Imagine how it really feels when Being Boiled starts and the Synth just blows you away. Standing there with goosebumps caused by the enormous sound and wondering about your emotions changing from laughing to crying and back . Hopefully we will get an official Tour Bluray soon. ❤
Yes, an amazing performance. But I'm not sure ever an offical Bluray would capture that deep booming at the beginning of "Being Boiled". You have to be there to experience that.
Yes, loud where I was too which is why I'm surprised my sound turned out as well as it did. Some distortion has crept in but not as much as I feared. It was a terrific show. Thanks for commenting.
I normally try to be a little further back as the sound is usually not the best right at the front. But the difference in ticket prices made going GA the best option for my budget. A terrific night. Thanks for commenting.
Saw the same show in Adelaide. Fantastic! Took me back to being 16 with headphones in my bedroom. Now a few days later so many ear worms! Great quality, both sound and video. Thanks for posting. I don’t remember being at ANY show where the stereo separation was so good. The drums in particular. The sound techs did a good job that night.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the Adelaide show. Yes, took me back many decades also. Yes, it certainly sounded good. The three guys up the back probably deserve more credit for the performance. Thanks for commenting.
@dawnmorris8162 I hope there are still tickets available? I was a bit too young to see them when Dare came out (10!!) God I played the arse out of that album - I worshipped it! I liked a few of their songs after Dare but I kinda moved on to other bands by the time I was old enough to go gigging. I would love to see them now - watching this has reminded me how good they were and are! I liked Travelog and Reproduction too so Being Boiled is an extra treat! 😊❤✌
Excellent Job ..Thanks for the upload ..Yes ..I couldnt fault them in Adelaide ..Superb , Phil's voice was astounding ..the sound and visuals were also amazing ..loved the Pacman and Tron visuals..
I love Being boiled. Such a fantastic tune. Circus of Death on the the B side was brilliant. I can feel the cover of the sleeve and smell the vinyl now.❤
I adored DARE and Love And Dancing as a kid. Seen them a few time overvthe last ten years. Never disappoint. Love Phil and the band ❤ Thanks for uploading
Hello from Toronto!! They all looking amazing! Phil is badass, beautiful voice( some things never change) DARE is an amazing album, brings back so many memories, my album is warped(lol) 80's rule! The best times, the best memories!♥🎵🎹
Yes, I was a little worried about how good they'd sound. But they were surprisingly very good. My video sound is a little distorted. They actually sound much better. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance.
I was at the second show Wed 13/Mar so surreal 35 so years later front row seeing them live. What a blast. Decades past but I was there back to 80s/1985 again ❤🇦🇺
Played my Dare pre recorded cassette to death in the early 80s..Then bought the vinyl and recorded that onto cassette which kept my original LP in mint condition. Bought it on CD, have the digital download BUT if I want to really enjoy it, I spin my original LP. PURE BLISS. I hope everyone enjoyed this stellar show in my most beloved City 💜💜🇦🇺
Thanks for your effort in recording Human Leeague and posting on RU-vid. You certainly had a great location to video most of their songs, and showing Phils talent. Keep recording and posting them. Cheers.
Hope your wish comes true. You need to take an extended holiday in the UK and catch as many 80 bands as you can while you're there. I'd love to see Heaven 17 but they don't seem to leave the UK these days. We can both dream.
I too was a little worried about how good they'd sound after all these years. I was very pleasantly surprised. And in fact, they sounded better than my recording as some distortion has crept in because I was quite close to the left hand speakers. Hope you enjoy the Generations Tour.
This week they released "Sound of the Crowd - Greatest Hits Live in Concert". I don't know when or where it was recorded, research for you to do. I haven't listened to it all, just a couple of songs. Phil's vocals are a little 'off-putting' at times, but of course, this can be the case with many live recordings - they are neither the perfection of a studio production nor the raw excitement of being there on the night. Anyway, I thought the release was a nice coincidence arriving at the same time as your comment.
@@Peter_LiveMusic Oh yes, what a pleasant surprise! It's on Spotify. There isn't a video version, sadly, but that's the case with many artists in 2024. The decline of physical media - DVD & Blu Ray - has apparently led to an equal decline in professional recordings of shows. Perhaps there's no money in them any more, so we're limited to fans' uploads from their phones which are no substitute, especially the audio.
I would like to see a Double Bill with Heaven 17. Yes, I am suggesting that original Human League members in Heaven 17 could play LIVE in both Bands. That's if they are talking with each other. LOL!!!!!!
Sorry you couldn't get there. Sadly, my video captures only a tiny fraction of how good the performance was. But I'm glad I could provide you with a least a glimpse. Hopefully, they'll be back and you'll be able to see them then.
Actually, as I mentioned in my description, my recorded sound isn't all that good. It was much better there, in the venue. And if you get further away from the speakers, I'm sure it'll be even better still. The whole band did sound great. Enjoy the Birmingham gig.
@@Peter_LiveMusic but it’s only now that the 2 original girl singers are back in the band., correct? The singer always toured as himself in USA with other 80s acts. 👍😃
@@kennyking4050 No, Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley have continued to perform together as "The Human League" since 1980. Not sure about any solo tours Philip might have undertaken.
Saw these live in Ipswich in 1982... I was 16 and I had to take my ex girlfriend to it because I'd already bought tickets for her and me before we split up .... Joy O'Bryan who I lost my cherries to 😊.... Wonder what she's doing now......
@@itstheterranaut I never record an entire performance. I do like to enjoy the music in real time as well. In fact, with The Human League I have recorded one or two more songs than I normally do. Sorry if your favourite isn't here.
