Oh wow! So good! Yesterday I saw the video with you, Chris and David. Both videos talked about unity. Humility is key! Thank you for great message and thank You Holy Spirit for helping us and not leaving us in our mess. 🙏🏽😀
What do you think guys? The sentence "we are nothing without God" cannot exist. Because every human is made by God, therefore we will always be something (using the word "something" for the sake of argument we all know the special someone we are in Gods eyes) . The issue with pride is that we exult ourselves, and this is why c.s lewis famously said "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. You see if you kept thinking less of yourself you will eventually reduce yourself to the word "Nothing" which is false humilty as c.s lewis points out here aswell profoundly. How can one find joy in calling himself "Nothing" when to God they are everything, and that's the thing we should never use the term because it doesnt even exist as an argument in the first place like i stated. The fact we can do nothing without God does not mean we are nothing, and thats where i believe the confusion lies and why people fall for it. i have passion to defend this and dont like seeing Christians use this word to describe themself, it breaks my heart , on the other hand if i am wrong i am wrong and need to repent .
the point Eric is trying to make is that without God all of our works and doing is worthless. It’s about dying to ourselves and being alive in Christ. We are made in the image of God but without Him (truthfully) we would be nothing. It’s giving glory and honor to Him. It reminds me much of this Scripture, “If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”-John 15:6 You are correct in what you say that our identity is not nothing but a Son in the Lord but Eric is making point of our need of reliance on Jesus.
@@marthablanche3813 the branch that dries up, is gathered and thrown away, you would say is " made in the image of God but without Him (truthfully) would be nothing." ? because they wasnt abiding in chirst they are nothing ? just so i can understand you
