Lucy Gray changed her attitude in the cabin bc she realised Snow was lying to her and was still killing people, she knew he would do everything he can to save his ass and at the moment she became the only risk he had. She said trust is everything to her and he lied in her face, about the most important thing possible, that's why she doesn't trust him anymore, especially enough to believe he wouldn't hurt her when she has the power to screw up everything for him by just confessing.

Yeh in the book, snow was already thinking in his head how much he hatred the wilderness, and as soon as he found the guns he was rationalising in his hear that Lucy Gray was deranged and dangerous so he could justify killing her. But in reality, Lucy Gray was the only person who tied him to the mayfair murder.

Gray isn't Lucy's last name, Baird is her last name, she's Lucy Gray Baird and Snow calls her like that bc that's how she likes it, when they call her Lucy she says "it's actually Lucy Gray", and if you notice she does the same with others, like saying "Maude Ivory" or "Billy Taupe" in the place of just Maude and Billy.

A quick reminder to always hate Snow is that he sold Finnick's body when he was a minor for pedos to rape him (and he did the same with many other tributes), he sent tons of children to their deaths, made Cinna get killed in front of Katniss, killed Haymitch's family and his girlfriend just bc he didn't like how he won his games, etc.

@@emilyau8023 he says it on mockingjay part 1. If a tribute was seen as desirable then they would be prostituted and from the very beginning Finnick charmed them all with his beauty, unfortunately that included pedophiles. Katniss and Peeta didn't suffer that bc they were kinda lucky they had their love story as main charm, so people on the capitol loved them together, rather than wanting one of them for themselves, if it wasn't for that then they would have been in the same situation, or the other alternative was getting your family killed if you resisted, but Katniss once openly admitted (in the books) that she would prefer prostitute herself than letting her family die.

I don't understand how every reactor calls Lucy Gray suspicious or say that they no longer trust her, after Snow firmly holds the gun and calls her a loose end causing her to become scared and put on a bright smile to escape. Yes, escaping a potentially dangerous situation is suspicious as hell. Obviously the scarf was a distraction, whether she planted the snake or not. If she wanted to kill him, he'd be dead.

Her entire demeanor changed because that answer about murdered 3 was not as much of a W as you thought. She definitely knew he lied. Also my theory is that he hallucinated seeing her when he shot at her because you see her wearing her the dress she wore at the reaping , which she wasn't actually wearing. It's the same as the song she's named after where you're not supposed to know what happened to her. Another fan theory was Lucy's cousin Maude Ivory is Katniss's paternal grandmother. This is because only covey knew of the lake and only covey knew of the hanging tree song and her dad knew both so he was obviously covey. Lucy sang hanging tree in public once and it was banned immediately after. Maude Ivory was said to be able to memorize a song after one hearing. The thing the movie misses from the book (other than some of the deaths in the games being different) is that you can hear snows inner thoughts in the book. Much earlier in the book he's very paranoid, possessive (believing lucy "belongs" to him) and also makes all his decisions out of extreme self preservation.

Lucy Gray didn't turn into a super star after the games, people in 12 don't even watch the games as they don't have TVs and they're still not in the epoch where they get forced to watch them putting them everywhere (like in Katniss's times). Her job was already as a performer, she mentions it and that's why she talks to the public about seeing her *again*
@davidfairweather3301
@davidfairweather3301 8 месяцев назад
Yeh most the people in 12 couldn’t even remember she went to the hunger games, and those that did, didn’t really care 😂 Really highlighted that at that point in time, the games were really just a mere inconvenience to the districts. Other than the families of the children who were reaped, everyone else just kinda moved on.

Katniss reminds Snow too much of the only woman he ever loved, Lucy Gray. Lucy was a performer forced to fight & Katniss was a fighter forced to perform, they’re both rebellious & were ready to die in as the last ppl in the Games, the Jabberjays were used during the war & Lucy Gray showed him the failed experiment (the Mockingjays) which became the symbol of the rebellion, and when the Capitol thought Katniss died she sang “The Hanging Tree” (which Lucy Gray wrote).

Lucy Gray ambiguity ending is meant to be a mystery that will haunt Snow the rest of his days. Alive or dead. As Donald Sutherland’s Snow says “it’s the things we love most that destroy us”

I loved it in theaters but also want to know if Lucy is dead or alive. Some people interpret that she realized Snow crossed into evil and he’d kill her so she dropped the scarf and ran, and was long gun and that Snow snapped and only thought he shot her that he imagined it.

Gray isn’t her last name. Her last name is Baird. You can think of it either as a middle name or as a part of her first name, but the covey always use both, having a “normal” first name and a color, e.g. “Billy Taupe,” “Maude Ivory.”

Dr Gaul didn't have anything against Lucy Gray, she was just mad for what the rebels did since their attack killed the president's son, so she wanted revenge on the districts and her way was to not allow any victor in these games by sending her snakes, that would kill them all. Even so, she notices a victor is needed for the games to continue and she wants them to, so she allows her to get out.
@timethiustheally32

I really doubt she cared about his son haha she just needed an excuse to bring out the snakes
@jrlombardi5251
@jrlombardi5251 8 месяцев назад
@@timethiustheally32 it's not that she cares about the boy himself, it's what he represents. He's a huge figure for the capitol for the simple fact of being the son of the president, for being something of the biggest figure of power in the capitol, the rebels killing him is seen as a victory for them and she hated giving them that, she hated thinking they would be celebrating for it and obtaining more of that from her games, she makes that clear. She wanted to punish them by leaving not even one winner in the games and by making the tributes, district people, die in such horrible way, by how angry she was. If you pay attention you'll notice it's obvious she took that decision when she wasn't thinking straight bc everything she wants is for the games to continue and it's not like she can't realise that with no winner no one would watch them till Snow and the rest show her that, she knows that, but she ignores the fact bc of her anger and is forced to take a step back when she's actually shown that the games need a victor. Her entire character motivation is making the games continue and with this action she almost fucked everything up, and for something she already knew she needed for it (people rooting for someone and against others). She definitely wasn't just looking for an excuse to just randomly use her snanes, she let her feeling carry her away bc she was too angry at the districts having their little victory and about to have "another" with one of them surviving the games, that she didn't think straight and almost kills them all, till she's insisted till she sees she needs to make her survive to have a bigger win, to have the games for more years.

I know a lot of people think it is odd that Lucy Gray ate the rose petal, but they _are_ edible. And people in 12 learn to eat whatever they can. Katniss (aka swamp potato) probably isn't that tasty, either, but if it will keep you alive when you need it to and there isn't anything else to be had, you'll learn to eat it.

So, I've read the whole saga and loved it as well as the movies. Regarding Snow and Dr. Gaul, Snow used to sexually traffic the Victors, no competition, he's wose. She's like his motherly figure though, and you can definitely tell that everything he later does as president is influenced by what he learned from her in his youth. I love the movie, but I feel like without the internal monologue it makes it harder for people to remember that Coryo is AWFUL and has always been awful despite the fact that his entire motivation is money and power and to uphold a system that has damaged even his family. Personally I do get the sense that he's only looking out for himself the whole time, but a lot of people liked him for some reason and you're really not supposed to, he's deranged. I also didn't like that they omitted certain things about Sejanus Plinth, like how in the book it was his idea to feed the tributes, not Coryo's (and he gets mad at him for it because he thinks Sejanus is trying to steal his spotlight 💀), or how Sejanus is actually a really good shot because his father trained him since they lived in 2 when he was little (better than Coryo) and they wouldn't let him be a medic because he was the best shot the peacekeepers had which is why he wanted to escape Panem with the rebels, and the fact that he was actively suicidal and that's why he went into the arena to do that for Marcus was very glossed over (his history with Marcus when they were children as well). And I also would've liked them to add Coryo's monologue somehow because he's DERANGED y'all, like awful 💀 But there's a four hour cut of the movie that they filmed so I hope they release it sometime lmaoo. Loved the reaction!!

I've watched like 12 reactions to this movie and this is the most bizarre one yet, it's like y'all are watching the shit on autopilot. Not only do you completely miss basic themes and messages presented, but you fail to understand the very simple premise of this movie, having SEEN the trilogy... What's more, you seem to be gain/loss measuring the capitol students and the distric children, asking: - "Is impoverished children fighting to death in an arena ethical?" - "Could I see myself taunting the needy with goods? Hmm." - "Why would someone want to destroy the arena?" The guy on the left has the media literacy of a fourth grader, and judging by the smattering passive aggressivism in this video alone, is annoyed by the girl on the right and not even trying to hide it. I can give the girl credit for atleast answering his several thousand questions, but I'm having a hard time believing y'all were looking at anything in this movie besides the colors.
