The Hunt for Gollum Red Flags- Why Lord of The Rings Fans Should Worry 

I’m so excited for this movie because I love Gollum but I am worried Andy is directing after Venom 2.

okay, personally, while yes there are some concerns about this, I feel like most people are over stating them... let me get a couple out of the way, in the last 12 years we have had: 3 hobbit movies, 2 seasons of rings of power and a few games... nothing else to my knowledge. Of those projects, Jackson was brought on late to the hobbit films and had to pick up where the previous director left off, and even so the first 2 were still by all accounts decent movies, above average if not better. And Rings of Power is amazon, a shitshow we all expected it to be. now the musical score... I dont know if they will be able to get howard shore to do the music, however thats not really how the music industry works... its highly unlikely that howard shore still has any kind of contract with amazon, much less some sort of non compete with lord of the rings music. The age of gollum... yes hes younger... roughly.... 2% younger? I think? Gollum himself shouldnt be that changed, and from what I have seen of Serkis he is capable of doing the stunts he used to do still. Also, you are assuming throughout that this will focus solely on Gollum, yes he is a titular character, but did you actually pay attention to the name? the *hunt* for Gollum, i.e. what Gandalf and Aragorn went on. Speaking of that, you and many other people I've seen talking about this, keep going on about "there isnt more to tell" with these stories, Gollum and Aragorn... just because we know *some* of the *most* important events in their life, doesnt mean there isnt story there to tell, thats a godawful take. Whether that story will be told well, I cant say. But there is story still.

Making a Tolkien movie Not based off a book….feels very very wrong, his books is what created this amazing universe, not the movies.

Poor Gollum was the only real victim in this story. Gandalf was actually the villain. If Gandalf didn't start the dwarves on their 'quest', Bilbo wouldn't have been dragged into it, the ring would have stayed hidden with Gollum who had no knowledge of what the ring meant. The elves, Dwarves and humans were also villains, due to them accepting the rings.

We all know it won't be good. The question is whether it'll be mediocre (like the Hobbit trilogy), or unapologetically awful (like RoP).

I’m just gonna say it now just so we can get it out of the way, I’m sticking my neck out here, but here goes: These new films will be rubbish and nobody will like them except for die hard nostalgic fans.

The industry has no respect for the fans. Only love for money. Who is a real fan should be aware of this and give a shit for those type of production.
