That headbutt was one of the best moments in film history. I love how he got the shit kicked out of him and then went back in there made the biggest guy his bitch.
I was fucking shaking with rage at this scene !!! I can not even begin to explain how fucking enraged I was for the suffering Mads character go's through
People can talk all they want about how badass superheroes like the Hulk are. But this was the most badass scene I've ever seen. Goes back in after he's been brutally beaten and shows them who's boss. This was one of the biggest "Fuck Yeah" moments I have seen in my life!
Superheroes aren't really badass. If things can barely hurt you, you aren't badass, you're not risking anything. This is badass, because he's just an ordinary outnumbered man who's already injured and he STILL goes back and stands up to them.
When I watched this in theaters during the film fest one of the ladies watching in the audience cheered loudly at the headbutt. One hell of a scene, an exercise in emphatic frustration and sympathy.
it was a very satisfying scene, by that point of the film I was so pissed at all those idiots also what the hell is this "children don't lie" bullshit, that's not how I remember my childhood or the ones of anyone I knew as a kid....
The thing with this scene is we have all been the people in the supermarket. After unsubstantiated claims about someone we have all judged them without sufficient evidence. It shows an incredible strength of character that he went back in.
Sorry but no. Ive never been those shitheads. I would have standed up for the guy regardless of the allegations. I would have gotten the meat he wanted and then some and offered to pay. I dont judge people on rumors and never follow the dumbass mob unless i know the facts. If twitter and social media in general taught me anything is that you should never trust anyone on their word. Dumbest thing in the movie that sadly is 100% real?? "Children dont lie". Shit...children like A LOT. Just as much as adults which have an average of 1 lie every 20 sentences.
I'm not like the people of the movie I may have been when younger, but not anymore. Now what i go by is. "Innocent until proven guilty." Not "Guilty until proven innocent."
He knew he didn't want to her the word from him so the perfect reaction is: *HEADBUTT* he didn't even got bloody hands from that piece of shit it was more of a defense attack.
@@telmolicious Jean Dejardin for The Artist (a French film with English text) also, first foreign film to win best picture. Yes....the texts are in English, but the production was French, making it "technically" the first and only "foreign" film to win best picture
@@JG-gn9oqIt was not the girls fault. She just heard a bad word, and repeated it at the wxact wrong moment. She didn't even know what she was doing, so this wasn't the kids fault. She was just parroting what her brothers said. You can't put the blame on her.
So fucking satisfying to watch. I'm glad he chose stubbornness, and felt some vindication that the store people didn't freak out that much when he headbutted the guy. They must have some doubt now about their stupid convictions
You could see Mads talent in the movie "Pusher" from 1996. Now he's one the top actors in the world. This movie is very hard to watch though, but the script and acting are superb.
The power of this scene is incredible. Despite how intensely cathartic it is when he headbutts the butcher, the ultimate tragedy and injustice of the situation isn't compromised. If anything, the way things just escalate further and further is terrifying.
Favorite part of the scene: *Smack* Nah, actual favorite is when Lucas walks by Theo's car and he realizes what's happening to Lucas first hand. You can see the obvious disbelief on his face. Finally some sympathy in this horrible movie.
You know what's amazing? It's that people watch this movie, they go "man, how awful these people are to him, I feel for the guy". But then when something similar happens in their lives, most people assume the position of these angry, judgmental masses. It's like most people, even those here don't retain the message from this movie in their heads and don't remember that "trust, but verify" is a very wise and useful approach to things. I've experienced it - gossip. And even people that knew the person for a long didn't trust her or at least questioned the things said. To me, it was obvious what is a lie and what isn't. Or at least something felt wrong. It's like Wade Robson and the other douchebag accusing Michael Jackson of molesting them for decades basically now that he's dead. And it was SO SO obvious they're full of shit. But most media and people played along with it. Probably because most of US (including YOU) are so full of shit, you can't even recognize when someone else is too. It's insane. It usually comes down to position of power or some leverage. In the movie, the little girl had leverage/position of power, because well, who would believe she made it up? At work for example, people usually believe the person higher in the food chain - after all, it would be detrimental to their position if they questioned the boss. Or they believe the person with money, the person they like more, etc. Question things people, every single time. Think for yourself. If something feels wrong, or slightly off, go after that feeling and get more information before you judge someone. I was on the other end of gossip like this - it's awful how it feels. You can't even imagine. Think twice before doing it to someone.
For anyone wondering, the subtitles are in Romanian. No idea why though, considering the title's in English. Great scene. I didn't expect Lucas to headbutt that butcher, but props to him nonetheless. That asshole deserved it. Mads' acting was on point as usual. For those who follow his cinematographic work, I'm sure I'm not the only one who imagined a different outcome for this scene - one where the butchers become 'butchered', cooked and served for dinner ;)
the butcher just took the job so that in hopes to smash the accused head shut. In closing it seems the bond of friendship with two men was compromised , nd that it appears that e divorced her. Finally he stands up to her and says "stay clear"
This dudes life was ruined because of a serious allegation made by a stupid little girl because he confronted her of kissing him not only that but he lived in a town where everyone hated him and he managed to March back for his groceries nobody would be able to do what he did he’s a wise and a brave man
