Some All Ireland final. I'd rank it up there with 2014 drawn game, 2009 & 2010. Possibly the greatest final. Brilliant day. A greatending to the hurking year. Like to say thanks to you Will and the two lads for giving us so many hours of this podcast to listen to throughout the year. I'm not surprised so many people are shouting at Skehill and Murph about it on the streefs and in the bars. It is really catching on. Look forward to it all again for 2025 👍

Not sure what happened with the feedback loop bleed this evening, wasn’t their microphones and we all had headphones in to prevent a loop. I couldn’t hear it in real time. Might have been the streaming software. Annoying but something we’ll fix for the next one.

Great pod as usual lads. To the point of people retiring players early it’s irritating and I can only imagine how it feels for the players. Hoggie, Noel McGrath, TJ Reid to name a few. It’s comparable to tiger woods. Whenever he’s on tv now the commentators are all saying he’s just not the same and should he be here. It makes more sense to just judge people as they are now, not as they were.

You’re bang on John. We need more quick puck outs it has made our game even better. I can’t understand why we don’t change to the same system as rugby for the time keeping.
@DarraghKeogh-uz3cv
@DarraghKeogh-uz3cv Месяц назад
Without extra time you dont get a lot of extra moments, drama, etc. Players cramp in normal time so thats not really good enough of a reason for a replay and neither is "a neutral would want another game because it was so good". Thats not how sport works. Extra time and replay if thats still a draw is best of both worlds.

@porchmore
@porchmore Месяц назад
We are now in the realms of Championship games being refereed with the aim of it being a spectacle as opposed to it being reffed within the rules of the game. We cant expect the referee to get everything right, but this ref went from being a man known for handing out yellow cards too easy to not awarding a free for one of these teams in 35 minutes of hurling. Totally inconsistent. The game has outgrown the standard officiating, more and more we see games being decided by a point. It needs to be looked at

Don't think it was one of the best all irelands, quality wise. Very exciting, added to by fact both teams knew it was a great opportunity with Limerick out of the way, and desperate for success waiting so long. Some poor wides by Clare. Some shockingly poor defending especially for goals both sides including TKs. He did brilliantly but what was Sean O'Donoghue at, ran out to the side and left path through instead of keeping his body between goals & Kelly. Early in game Clare very individualistic, crazy wild shots. How long before 1st ball went into O'Donnell? At end, Clare didn't stick to the process and lamped the ball away, giving possession to Cork for them to attack and nearly level it. Clare deserved it for the body of work they've produced over last 3 years.

Maybe Cork's supporters booking Limerick consistently at Pàirc Uì Caoimh and Croke Park had a bearing on the result. No way would Limerick supporters booh Horgan when taking frees but yet Cork consistently did it. And the goalkeepers were instructed about puck outs

No Kilkenny player deserves or should get a place on the Team of the Year this year, How can a Kilkenny player take the place instead of the likes of Patrick Horgan, Aidan McCarthy, Aaron Gillane and a few more, players from Munster counties had better seasons, simple as that.

Lads, the sliotar used in the modern game needs to be reviewed, call me old fashioned but multiple scores from 90 + yards is not right in hurling, cricket scores at end of games now.

The players are just much better these days the sports science behind these teams are on par with any of the best NFL or soccer teams. These lads would hit those same shots using a pineapple instead of a sliotar

Agreed, been saying for a while now. Teams are scoring every 45 seconds, and the winner on the day is the team who is lucky enough to be head at the final whistle. I think narrowing the posts is a better idea

I would doubt very much their dominance has ended certainly not with some of the youngsters they introduced over the Munster campaign and with still some of the old guard to comeback after injuries next year.

What i meant is that was only chance of 5 in a row . Can anyone see them doing 4 in a row anytime soon, I don't. That was a special team in there prime just like the Dubs 2015 - 2020. Of course they will win all ireland's but not every hence I think the dominance has ended.
