I would agree with that. Back in 2023 and early 2024 I would lean towards the HX Stomp because the form factor over a rack mounted Axe FX was superior. But since I picked up the Fractal FM9… the HX Stomp hasn’t gotten that much love
I agree that the stomp xl is the best form factor out there. I find it expensive though since it is kind of close to the helix LT and some Valetons, Amperos, Headrushes, even flammas and zooms. I am also a Boss pedal fan, but Idislike that they do not update like line6 . I love that they keep updating it. However, I don't know if it is because I have only used helix native with a good audient interface and good monitors. But helix native has its own sound and feel that I have not been able to avoid. I love the stomp pedal emulations and most of the effects. When I play any random NAM model, I feel the amps in the helix are old tech or low res. I don't know what the x factor is. I hope there is an update for that!! great video SUBING and watching more of them!!
I am new to playing lead guitar and I just got my hx stomp xl today. Your videos have helped a lot! But just wondering where did you get those bigger switches on the top three buttons? Thanks again and great video.
Great video! The best modeller in 2024 though definitely not. I’d argue the ToneX is way better… I loved my HX stomp but there was still a lot left to be desired over the rest of the market. The high gain stuff is just lacking in every aspect in the L6 units and the overdrive pedals just aren’t as good as the real thing. Price point a great unit! But lack of choice on amps compared to Fractal , Kemper, QC , ToneX it’s nowhere near.
High End stuff is definitely not there compared to other units. I completely agree and tend to use my FM9 when I need the dirt. But clean stuff is great
