For those of you confused. A diamond is a very hard, crystal made of carbon atoms. That's the definition of a diamond. They can be created in two ways. One is natural processes where the crystal forms through the Earth's heat and internal pressure. Two, it can form under the heat and internal pressure in laboratories. A diamond's definition is dictated by the chemical and crystal structure it has. It is not defined by the processes that lead to its creation.

Some moissanite are overpriced selling for $1k dollars per carat while lab created diamonds are as cheap as $800 dollars per carat and I've heard some are selling for as low as $200 dollars per carat. In that case a lab created diamond is the best option coz it is very easy to clean diamonds unlike moissanite which gets du overtime because they develop this pesky grime on the surface that can't be remove easily.

@@rainbowstar2775 I get your point, but Moissanite actually attracts less grime than diamond, and both stones can be cleaned to get rid of it. Of course if you pick a more expensive Moissanite and compare it to a less expensive diamond, the diamond will be cheaper. On average, when you account for size and quality the Moissanite is going to be cheaper. Moissanite is also more sparkly than diamond, which makes it more beautiful to a lot of people. If you want diamond, there are reasons to prefer diamond (they are harder to scratch and have less fire... Not everyone wants a colorful stone). But there's no reason to discourage people from Moissanite when it's an affordable and good option. The stones that get cloudy and impossible to clean are CZ.
@Nazoto
@Nazoto 4 месяца назад
@@rainbowstar2775yeah they should be cheaper or at the same price. If it's the same price or cheaper I'd probably pick moissanites cause that gray moissanite I saw was beautiful and I heard that black moissanite are harder than black diamonds

Freak franken'diamond ... you might as well pay 3000$ for pretty cut glass thats actually worth 49$ to make if you want a fake
@SeniorSunday
@SeniorSunday 5 месяцев назад
... Lab diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds and have all of the properties of diamonds. The reason to buy a lab diamond over glass is that glass doesn't have the durability, brilliance, or fire that a diamond has. Your statement makes sense when directed at something like CZ... Not diamond. Calling it a franken'diamond just tells me that you have no idea how a lab diamond is made or what it is.
@good2goskee
@good2goskee 4 месяца назад
@SeniorSunday I know very well about lab GROWN "diamonds." I know about CZ and how the Russians were going to destroy the diamond market with them in the 1980s (did you know ?). I also know that a diamond grown in a lab is an unnatural chemical analog to a REAL diamond (i.e., natural God-made diamond). Occurring in nature makes it authentic, and a lab grown diamond is a fake. How it appears and its chemistry does not make it a real diamond. For example, I can make a watch that is a super-clone Rolex GMT Master II, which appears identical in every way to the real Rolex and even has 18k gold incorporated into it. There are super-clones that even fool some experts. However, the super-clone is not a Rolex, not made in Geneva Switzerland, and is a FAKE. If you want to buy Frankenstein lab cultivated "diamonds" similar to garden cultivated cabbage and fool yourself that they are real diamonds, then live your illusion. They will go nice with fake LV bags, I hear.....
@Nazoto

That's like saying might as well eat vegan meat cause the pigs we eat aren't in the wild. The only difference is one is in a lab while the other is in magma. Same high pressure and high temperature to form the diamond
@good2goskee
@good2goskee 4 месяца назад
@Nazoto Never had lab meat, but I doubt lab baby back ribs or test tube bacon is not going to be the same on the BBQ as the real seal. Also, if I can create a human-like being in a lab someday, does that make them human? ....A~ no Both a franken-diamond or a lab grown humanoid (fakes in their own rights) lack a soul.

@@TwistedGlitter It's a social status/image issue. People are willing to pay 65-85% more for an identical product b/c De Beers and the diamond industry have fought hard to make mined diamonds a status symbol. It's all marketing and manipulation to try to save their profits.

Jewelers and distributors are pretty much the only ones who dislike lab diamonds. Mined diamonds have been inflated in price for a long time, and it's about time consumers have a fair/affordable option.

To me it's still fake like a zirkonia or something, because it's not a naturell diamond!
@bebop2523

It is not zirconia. It is a real diamond. That’s like saying that somebody who was conceived through IVF is a fake human because they were not conceived the natural way so they can’t be a real person. They are still a real human being. They were just created through science.
