Well, this is a surprise. IKEA, a company best known for flat pack furniture, Swedish heritage and meatballs have taken another step into tech with a pair of Bluetooth Speakers, the Eneby 20 and Eneby 30. And the boxy, iconic IKEA design works really well. They’re punchy, have bass and they work, all whilst blurring the line between furniture and tech. If you’re in the market for reasonably priced Bluetooth speakers, then you can’t really go wrong with these. They’re not perfect, but they're good at what they're meant for.

I bought both the Eneby 20 & 30. They're really very impressive sounding speakers for the price, hell, they'd be impressive at double the price... I find the voice reproduction to be quite exceptional. I quote my son "Dad, it sounds like she's singing from right in front of us"...

My friend bought the Eneby 30 some month ago and it has an incredible value. I tend to agree. Very fullbodied sound. For that price it´s unbeatable. I hope Ikea has stereospeakers coming, because this is really promising.

I grew up in Eneby! :P I bought the Eneby 20 speaker for a medium sized room, and they sound really good! Fills up the room perfectly with some sweet sounds. And the bass is great!

You can pair two identical ENEBY speakers to create a wider stereo experience. In this configuration, one speaker serves as the left channel and the other serves as the right channel. On/Off and Volume need to be controlled individually on each speaker. 1. Turn on both speakers. 2. Press and hold the knobs (1) at the same time. Release the knobs when the LED light turns red the second time. Wait 2 seconds. A confirmation sound will be played. 3. Press the knob (1) once again on one of the speakers. This speaker is now assigned as the left channel. 4. Open the Bluetooth setting on your mobile device and connect to ENEBY speaker for the left channel. To disable the stereo pair, follow instructions “Unpair Bluetooth devices” on both speakers.

That's only on gen2 speakers. They look the same, but perhaps Ikea updated something for the next year and now they can be paired (exact models) as a stereo. You control volume and connect to stereo pair through the left speaker.

I LOVE My eneby20 speaker. Such a great sound quality for so little money. I’d like to argue for the simplicity of the commands they really got it right. Totally agree with this review.

A couple notes about these speakers, they have an auto shutoff, so if no audio is playing, it will turn itself off. This makes it annoying to use with a chromecast audio, as you have to turn it on each time you want to use it. Additionally, having something plugged into the Aux port disables Bluetooth. Since the Eneby 30 is intended to be a pretty stationary speaker, and the Aux port is in the back, It makes it so you can essentially use it as either a wired or wireless speaker in your setup, but not both.

Excellent sound and great features solid build for the price and a very great price. Don't pause or skip track they are on your smartphone if you need these feature then you pay above 150 USD by other manufactures. Well done IKEA

'They're funtionally a little bit basic.' I disagree. They have bass and treble control, they have a volume knob that's independent from your phones volume control, so I think you can actually listen to this thing at a low volume right before bed while most of the affordable bluetooth speakers have only a certain amount of volume settings and volume 1 isn't all that quiet or not exáctly the volume level you want. They are repairable without forcibly ripping open the speaker, they have a replacable battery which also means you can just take it out all winter instead of ruining the battery by keeping it charged at a 100% constantly by keeping it plugged in. They don't link up into some stereo setup which is a bummer, but that's the only thing that's kind of missing in my opinion.

#1 they can play plugged directly into AC #2 ikea sells battery replacement Does not have built in mic for conference calls or phone calls. Get the mini eneby instead for that which uses AA battery.

Revisit this video in mid 2020 and saw many new bluetooth speaker now no longer came with 3.5mm aux in. So, Apple 1 - 0 everyone else 😛

..."there are no massive differences but are in line with the price gap"...so the Eneby 30 is almost twice the quality of the Eneby 20 according to your logic (80 quid vs. 45 quid)...isn't that's quite "massive"...?

they are nice to listen to music while vacuum cleaning... you say "they are punchy, they have bass" yeah....no they dont...and music is not just bass... they sound like me when i go to the toilet to take a shit after eating a big plate of beans
