This is a follow up video to EP 89 of our podcast where when interviewing Bruce Thom of Bat Machine we asked him if bedding a rifle was necessary. He agrees with us in that he answered the question with one word - Yes! We want to share with you some insight into that answer and introduce you to bedding a rifle and why you should always do it if you want the best out of that rifle.

Ive had pretty good succes with a t3x in an acc elite chassis without bedding, its about 0.5moa. But Id like to bed it still just in case, but Im too scared to do it yet

*3:00** Two questions.* *Isn't the scope/optics mounted directly to the action?* *Isn't the barrel free floating?*

What about a savage with a aluminum bed. Does that need bedding still?

I would say yes to almost all factory rifles. They are more likely to have warped actions. Jamie

Said it before say it again. The howa 1500 action recoil lug w the bolt through it is the best design out there. Draws it in tight as hell

Sure, but it is can be the side support like rails that can be the issue in warping, heat treat or clamping pressure when machining the stock. Bedding is a correcting process that supports the action a lot better. Not always needed, but should always support the action better. Thanks for the reply, Jamie

I have a Bergara HMR in 308. The stock has aluminum blocks that contact the action. I think the stock is made by Grayboe. Is it worth bedding an otherwise stock factory rifle like mine? Right now my groups on a good day are 1/2 MOA or better with bad days being about 1 MOA

I agree with Bruce at Bat Machine on this one, if you want a .25 minute gun it should be bedded. It's just an insurance policy.

@@wolfprecisioninc I’m semi local so perhaps I should give you a call and see if you can do a bedding job for me. Thanks for the info and thanks for the podcast as well, big fan.

Just bed it if you want one less thing to worry about one less thing to rule out in tge future if problems arise. Fir the cost of a bedding job it's a no brainer to me. Just Do it if you can do it correctly. you Def won't make it worse only got room to improve

@@REDNECKROOTS I’ve ended up adding a suppressor and now this combination is a tack driver. I’d say with the can it’s a 1/2 MOA gun
