Will. You. Raise. Good. Bees. ? White, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue. That’s how I do it. I’ll be looking for some blue marked queens from you next season. Great lesson/video BTW, thanks!! Especially the cold space frames. I didn’t think of that. I’ve started already, August is my month one.

I have done this already here in Oklahoma. We do still have a little, tiny trickle of a flow from sunflowers going on.

Nice going! I would love to have some hives on acres and acres of sunflowers, just to see what it’s like. 🌻

Great tips! Thanks. I'd like to ask you first because I trust your advice on your videos...Two of my 3 hives are small in population. Probably around 5 frames of bees with minimal resources. Any advice going into fall and winter? I'm worried they don't have enough resources to survive. I'm near Chattanooga,TN.

Hey Mindy, I appreciate that! Okay, so a small population isn’t always a bad thing. I have wintered a 3 frame nuc before. If they have all stages of brood, laying queen and plenty of food, you may consider transferring them into a 5 frame nuc for winter; it’s easier to stay warm for them. You could also consider giving them capped brood from your stronger hives as well.

@thehivedoctor13 I have all stages of brood, but barely any honey. A little pollen. Thanks for advice. I'll probably put them I'm a nuc.

@mindylabean8363 If no honey, perhaps beginning feeding. Is there anything blooming in abundance there yet?
