The Importance of the Five-Fold Ministry 

So many good words in there... <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="550">9:10</a> it takes three things to have a true ministry... - a gift, a calling, an anointing - your gift gives your ability - your calling gives your identity - your anointing gives you a purpose

I was called a Prophet by God. I never wanted be, howver I walk in Holy Spirit, and he gives me dreams, word of knowledge and prophecy.

What I have observed among believers these days, is that there is an abundance of saints who claim to be prophets and/or apostles without the works of either ministry being in evidence. As a result, many who prophesy, do so out of their own spirit... they may even mean well... but if the Holy Spirit isn't the initiator of any word given, He will not obligate Himself to see that 'word' fulfilled... which is similar to what Elijah faced during his spiritual duel with the prophets of Baal on Mt Carmel... who proved to have no Heavenly authority... no matter how it may have hurt their' feelings. True Heavenly authority brings REAL, not imaginary, results, as Elijah demonstrated.

I have always felt everything you are saying in my heart spirit and soul to be true. People would always say I am crazy then I would say they said all the Prophets and Apostles were crazy too all throughout The Scriptures.

I totally agree that the prophet & apostle are active today. I believe some people shrink their walk with God to what they intellectually understand. One consistent theme with God is that He wants to connect, really connect with His children. He loves each one of us. A follower of God through Jesus is a diligent student to study Scriptures, but as KV beautifully says, the more important priority is to know the author of Scriptues in the process of intellectually grasping the contents of Scriptures. I think God wants prophets & apostles to be a means of maturing individuals in the body. God wants His kids to make the choice to connect. Furthermore, He loves us enough to let us make choices about the motivation & speed in developing what He’s given us - my wording is vague because I feel uninformed about the language. And in this life journey, I think God wants His spiritual kids to be connected to each other. Deep. My brain is full. I need to sit down, take notes, draw diagrams so that I can be sure I am fluent in these concepts.

What a needed and timely message back to God’s Word what the role of the five fold ministry is to equip the saints not her/his own ministry but so that “Eph <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="253">4:13</a> until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, “

I love this common sense teaching. I'm subscribing this teaching reminds me of How my Pastor teaches about the 5fold ministry and grace. God bless you for helping to equipt the saints. I just happened to come across this (really lead by the Spirit) and I'll be subscribing and very interested in your books about you encounters with Christ. It is hard to talk about encounters where Jesus showed up and not get teary-eyed. His presence is more than enough but to know He chose to put His Spirit in us , my God its a privilege. Jesus came to visit me in a bathroom April 26th 2009 around 3am ... Told me who I was and what He called me to do. He was very clear and since then I've been to heaven 2 times, swam in the river of life with Jesus and the water went inside me I didn't get wet, another time He picked me up like a little toddler and placed me on His lap laying my head on His heart, then He began speaking to me and telling me to keep my ear to His heart and I'd always know what to say , do etc I Walked through a school with many rooms and a giant sophisticated door, that I had to be taught how to open. I walked through a field of beautiful flowers that were alive and colorful. I've had encounters with angels while praying and 2 times when I almost lost my life in a car, they literally lofted my car up like a toy...

Love this teaching pure fire! Only thing I want to point out that was missed greatly. IMO. 1. Stating the scriptures that proof there was 25 apostles should have been presented cuz obviously it’s not clear to many believers. To finally hit the nail on the head without the shadow of the doubt. 2. The lord is not restoring the 5 fold. IMO There has always been those offices within certain people but they died without ever doing anything in that office cuz of their lack of faith in that doctrine. They perished with a demonic doctrine that was suppressing that calling in their life. 3. I would say he isn’t resorting but rather bring the church into full awareness of it and conviction to walk out the responsibly. I only saw the last 2 cuz many critics slam us for using the acronyms NAR. (New apostolic reformation)

An apostles and Prophets are as good as they are Christ like with the fruits, but are you accurate in words and actions. It’s not always a joking matter and the when a prophet is 50/50 then they have abilities but not to be held over others. I have heard so many words of knowledge that where just a educated guess based on insider information

Great preaching They are called GIFTS of healing plural. Lester Sumeral taught that one person may have a gift of healing eyes another a gift of healing something else. I believe Timothy was exhorted as well to do he work of Evangelist not just Phillip. But who's counting. I drink Diet Coke for the caffeine Kris. As I was praying with you, I saw Jesus in His beautiful robe and He was hugging me as He hugged me I came through the other side and I was wearing a robe and was so blown away (astonished) by this moment... The problem with the word “gift.,“ Is that it is used both for the ministries given by Jesus as in Ephesians chapter 4, and is also applied to the manifestations of the Holy Spirit as in first Corinthians chapter 12. “Gifts” is also used in secular jargon such as a gifted athlete or musician. Kris you said that the callings of Jesus are “not gifts.” Actually Paul says they are (Ephesians <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="248">4:8</a>). This is semantics of course, but you are correct that it is not a “gift” of the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit gifts are simply transient manifestations of the Holy Spirit delivered by a believer to solve a spiritual or physical problem. The callings, which Paul names “gifts“ are those that are permanent and can be called Ministries as well. So I appreciate your striving to distinguish the gifts that Jesus gives as “callings“ from the gifts that the Holy Spirit gives which are not callings but manifestations of the Spirit’s presence.

The five-fold miistry is the different ranks of clergy in the Early Church. There were up to 7 ranks 1. Apostles (remain as a Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Rabbi) 2. Prophets (remain as an Evangelist, pastor and Rabbi) 3. Evangelists(remain as a pastor and Rabbi) 4. Pastors (remain as a Rabbi) 5. Rabbis (Teachers is an overtranslation) 6. Presbyters 7. Deacons Presbyters and Deacons worked in Committees and were elected and ordained. Rabbis, Pastors, Evangelists, Prophets and Apostles were called the five-fold because you are ordained to the higher order but retain the ordination of the lower order. Note that for the Didache it uses a 3-fold ministry as is used in the historical liturgical churches - Anglican, Lutheran, Orthodox and Roman Catholic. They use Bishop(Apostle+Presbyter+Deacon Priest (Presbyter+Deacon) Deacon which compare in function to the Didaches ranking system of Apostle(Rabbi+Prophet+Apostle) Prophet(Rabbi+Prophet) Rabbi The prophet and rabbi Saul of Tarsus was consecrated as an Apostle but did not forfeit being a rabbi and prophet in the Church in Antioch as recorded in the Book of the Acts of the Apostles. The current nomenclature is to be careful though. A Deacon is a proclaimer of the Word in word and deed Bishop is a pastor of other clergy like Christ. So function is kept it is just nomenclature that changed as the elected boards of Presbyters and Deacons was phased out. So it is not that strange division between same rank of ministers where you can be an Apostle or a Prophet or an Evangelist or a Pastor or a Teacher. However it is a heirarchy of ranks that are folded on each other. The Anglican ranking looks like this in full 1.Bishop/Apostle 2. Dean/Prophet 3. Archdeacon/Evangelist 4. Canon/Pastor 5. Parish Priest/Priest in Charge/Teacher 6. Priest Assisting/Presbyter 7. Deacon If trying to replicate the five-fold ministry
