My husband came home one night with a tiny baby kitten in a sock. This kitten still had it's umbilical cord. He said the mother had been. Hit by a car and killed. So, I bought a toy bottle, some similac, cotton balls, and Vaseline, and went to work. She lived in a laundry basket with a heating pad. My female cat, Lacey, wanted nothing to do with her, but her brother, Bubba, became her nurturer and teacher in how to be a cat. The stories of their interactions would make a great book. Maybe now that I am retired.....
Before neutering my past two and my present male were aggressive in the bullying sense. Never aggressive in terms of biting or attacking. Once done they all calmed down a lot and became big cuddlers. Sometimes Manny2 walks around acting like he doesn’t need anyone until he goes on my lap, expects pets, a scratch on the neck when he stretches up and comes for night cuddle. His tough act is just that. An act. And he milks it for all it’s worth.
My boy is built and as big like a line backer. He was always bigger but he he’s the type you can hug as hard as you want and it doesn’t bother him one bit. He’s like a plushy. My other males who were Siamese were big but svelt.
Inhome cats could have opposite temper. I had 4 cats during 26 ys, 1 girl and 3 boys. Every of them were saved in very young age and only 1 boy and the girl was operated. The 3 boys had soft temper, needed much pampering, but the girl was a litlle bit wild in whole 16 y life. I miss them.
It sounds like you had a special connection with each of your cats, each with their unique personality. It’s touching how much you cared for them and miss them.
A couple years go Manny2 had a bladder infection. Poor guy couldn’t pee at all and I was in a panic. So the doctor gave him liquid drops that Manny learned to take from his dropper. I never had to hold him to do it. I just held it out for him to smell and he’d take his medicine. A week later he was fine. So both have urinary care dry crunchies. When I run out they have their wet food which lasts until I get their other food which is about a couple days. They’re used to both so there’s no stomach upset. One thing about both. They’re both have great appetites. Once Manny2 realized I knew how to feed he and his sister no more verbal ‘instructions’. But he always at breakfast marks the hand that puts down his food bowl like a morning thank you. None of my previous cats ever did that and my girl doesn’t. Manny2 is just…different.
7:12 this is not "socially acceptable" observation , BUT female reproductive issues (disease) after neuter why is that? (unnatural to sterilize and more so TNR into unsanitary condition and medical incompetence ?? b/c it is done at reduced cost? Males testosterone is more than just reproduction .. it has to do with the blood. The life is in the blood. hormones affect the brain and other organs . it affects the persona of the cat even.
My boy just has poor aim when he uses the box. He’s neutered but he tends to spray out rather than down so I have to clean up the bathroom floor a lot. He does it occasionally some place else which I have to spray down but it’s rare. Sometimes if I’m in the bathroom with Manny2 and he’s in the box I have to push his butt down so it goes in the box not behind it. He doesn’t care. It used to get me so mad. Now I just clean it up. Sometimes he does perfectly in the box. Then I wonder is he OK as he had a bladder infection once and he couldn’t pee. But he doesn’t go spraying all over the place. And after I clean up after him he looks at me wondering if I’m gonna get mad. Sometimes it’s just plain exasperating. I don’t have a sense of smell so don’t know he’s done until I see it or step in it. That’s the infuriating part. I always have to check. I call him pee bucket. He’s the only neutered male that I’ve had who does this and I’ve had two previous. Sometimes I get so mad at the pee bucket that I tell him OK that’s it, you’re gone! But I keep him because I love him too much and he knows it. Have to say one thing, my bathroom floor has never been cleaner!😆
My boy hates other males! I found the perfect spray deodorizer! My Boyd ok with female kittens but not male! My boy coos when he sees females he's vocal with me cuz I encourage it!spay early My son waited 7 years to spay this isn't healthy!My boy is sociable with humans!
