One of the finest comic books ever made- its a masterpiece. Read it again a few weeks ago and it still makes me cry- The writing is superb and Quietlys art and storytelling is just genius and breathtaking. This nearly became a movie a few years back but sadly it never happened. Perhaps just as well because I dont see how they can make a film that does this book justice- Yes, its that good!

This one brings back the memories! So tight, so complete, so boundary pushing. This work taught me so much about story economy and doing more with less. To me, it's one of the greatest short run comics of all time, Top 10 for sure, and is criminally underrated. Thank you for sharing!

on your recommendation i looked up Quitely's TED Talk - really fascinating!! Somebody needs to do a book collecting some of these and Chris Ware and other artists' fragmenting of time and narrative

When I read this I cried at the end. Sobbed like a scolded ingrate at the end of Its journey. I wanted more but had to be content with my incompetence. thx

We3 is such a great one, Grant Morrison made unique stuff: Kid Eternity, Invisibles, Filth, Nameless... So glad you guys reviewed this one, he really pushed Frank to the limits of action, time & space. But I think Quitely knew what he was up to, since before We3, there was the incredible Flex Mentallo mini series!

It kinda feels like a darker version of one of Tezuka's works. Tezuka had a story that involved a group that took the brains of dogs and put them into androids for a invasion plan. However the dog ended up bumping into his owner starting his journey of rebellion.

I dont know if you have seen it but the deluxe edition has at least 6 extra pages in issue 3. 2 inbetween the rabbit facing weapon 4 and the next page. And 4 inbetween the page were they establish the house in construction and the page were it blows out. It shows them shedding their armor to better escape while the military enters the house.

These comics blew my mind when they came out. I've never been quite the same since. WE3 is pure 2000AD Thrill-Power at its best (regardless of the publisher).

This is fantastic. The comic is phenomenal, very simple but complex at the same time. Great shoutouts on the manga influence. I had not picked up on that on my early reads of the book but can totally see it now that you guys have covered so much of that. This might just be Quitely's masterpiece. Love it.

I love this story. I give it out to friends who aren't comic book fans. Story wise, I feel Morrison might have been influenced by Richard Adams's 'Plague Dogs' as well as 'The Incredible Journey.'

Yes! We need more Frank Quietly. Please do Sandman one shot by Quietly, you guys mentioned at the end. Also DC published Art of Frank Quietly book, please cover that too. It covers Frank's old work as well.

If you check out the back matter in the trade there's a script excerpt in which Grant describes the "Pop-Out" effect of the panels

This is easily one of the greatest comics ever published and I agree, a pinnacle of 2004. I'm not a fan of Morrison at all but this is exceptional. Quitely can do no wrong. 2004 was another banner year for the indies, Fables and Y the last man were in full swing and invincible was about a year in as well. As for marvel and dc...well uhhh. Yeah

Great comic, one of their best. There was a hint of We3 earlier in New X-Men when they go through the history of Weapon X. Captain America was weapon one, this was three, wolverine was ten
