This man has a World Series ring, 2 MVP awards, won the triple crown, won 7 silver slugger awards, won the batting title 4 times, a x12 All Star, finished his career with 3,174 hits, 511 home runs, 1,881 RBI’s, and a career .306 batting average. This man was a absolute beast at the plate!!! 100% 1st ballot Hall of Famer with out a doubt!!! Period!!!
Took my son to see his first ever MLB game this year in Detroit when they played the braves. Us being braves fans only fairly recently relocated from the south this was somewhat of a once in a lifetime chance for me to get him to see cabrara play. He had an ABSOLUTE BLAST and was blown away by the size of the stadium. Also, he wanted to be on the jumbotron soooo bad whenever they showed random people in the crowd dancing, however, it just wasn't happenin...until I thought of using miggy careers hits n Homer's signs as a cheat code. They were only a few rows from our seats so starting w miggys 3rd abat he would go get ready by/under the sign whenever miggy was on deck n then once he'd come to the plate they'd in variably show those signs at least once per ab and each time my son would be jumping or dancing his little butt off every time hahaha 😂 even though we ended up a acuna Jr's hr ball AND saw another hr robbed directly in front of us the gettin on the jumbotron was far and away his favorite part of the game. So thank you in directly miggy for making my son's first ever MLB something neither of us will ever forget!!!!
He's not only one of the most consistent and greatest offensive players of all-time, but one of the most humble and just laid back personalities we've ever seen. He definitely makes my Latino all-time team, which him nothing but the best in his retirement.
Miggy is way underrated because people overvalue WAR. But at the end of the day I care about hitting, and Miggy is one of the best to ever do it at the plate.
I could be off base but I'm not sure how a surefire Hall of Famer is underrated. I have not heard anyone diminish his legacy because of WAR, after all, it's not far off from Tony Gwynn...
Miggy was my childhood hero from 2003-2006 and I still loved him after the Marlins sold him to Detroit. I was so happy that he was the one who won the first Triple Crown in 45 years, and following his milestones in the final years was one of the highlights of following baseball this decade. His joy and love of the game seemed undiminished in 2023 from 2003. Pujols is the true best player of that generation of hitters, but Miggy is not that far behind him in second, and I think Cabrera is around a top 50 player all-time.
One moment i liked in his final season was later on in the season when the Astros came into town and Justin Verlander happened to be pitching in one of the games and the first time Miggy came up the two had a moment where they saluted one another.
I agree, his final season was unbelievable to watch! It felt like there were special moments like that throughout, despite him not being the prime Miggy we once knew in the box
Y además de ser el único jugador de la historia MLB en dar más de 500 jonrones, 3.000 hits, sobre 300 de promedio (1°) de por vida y, TRIPLE CORONA, no más comentarios. Traduzcan !! Saludos 🙂
“While playing in AA, things started to click. Miggy went from a .274 batting average to a .365 average…” in just one season. How many MLB players in the show today may never even see a .274 BA, let alone .300… let alone .365??!!? 😱
I have a hard time deciding who was better between him and Pujols. both of them are going into the penthouse suite of the hall of fame. both are as good as there has ever been
He was an admirable player until 2016 but after that it was painful watching him with more than mediocre numbers during his last 7 seasons. Basically only 1 productive year out his 8 years contract extension in 2014.
Man seemed like so many shots of miggy just owning my orioles … I remember that time frame I hated yet as a baseball fan also loved watching him play against us cause when he was locked in during his prime he didn’t miss much if at all
I definitely noticed that while making this vid! Surprising considering the Tigers aren’t in the East division and they maybe played 6-7ish games a year. Miggy was simply amazing!
I watched the last detroit game specifically to see that dude play. I am proud to say I got to grow up watching that man and pujols play. I had a tear in my eye when he got that out on first.
Loved this one, miggy was one of the players who made me fall in love with baseball as a child, it gives goosebumps seeing he had such a great and carrier and know he is retired! Amazing job @cam23 Greetings from D.R.🥺
He was a special player, and thank you for the kind words! It's also awesome to know that this video can find people all over the map. That's a truly great thing about RU-vid!
3:48 I remember watching this live as a 19 year old Yankees fan and thinking…oh shit that’s not good when Miggy just looked at Rocket like “yeah I got yer ass”.
His 2013 season was his peak season. Everyone mentions his triple crown here and for good reason, but his numbers were even better in ‘13. And those include a whole month of September playing though injuries. Take a look at his numbers on August 31st of that season. He was on pace for 50+ homers and 150+ RBIs and a damn .350 BA which is insane
I am a Mets fan but man I always respected tf out of Miggy he was such a monster on the Marlins and then he just exploded on the Tigers he is one of my favorite hitters of all time. When he got traded I felt I could follow him even more because we did not have to face him anymore lol
I was so relieved when Marlins traded him.. he was a Brave killer😂 i always tried to get him for my Fantasy baseball team Awesome video Cam! Always very well done🎉
very good video how about a doc. on the 1968 tigers great ws against the cards and bob gibson micky lolich won 3 games the game 7 on 2 days rest vs gibson tigers came back from 3 to 1 games to win it gibson strikes out 17 in game 1 over denny mc clain who was the last 30 game winner with a 31-6 season. so some great story lines. i hope you will do the story cause you do a GREAT JOB OF IT AND I THANK YOU.
Thank you! Ichiro is on my short list if everything works out the way I’m envisioning he’ll be out before the new year. Joe Mauer was incredible in his prime, he’ll eventually get one of these vids for sure
