Jeanty deserves it! The QB play this year is a bit underwhelming, I’d much rather see an insane RB like Ashton get it. Love seeing Boise State do well and I’m not even from Idaho.
I've been a Boise State fan since before they were even on the radar. Jeanty is a perfect example of what makes the BSU football program so great. We attract under appreciated and under represented players who want to the prove that they deserve an offense to be built around them. The league has only ever seen ONE other player on par with Jeanty, and he is currently on track to beating his record. I'm talking about Barry Sanders. The kid can't be stopped, and he absolutely deserves the Heisman.
Boise State Fan here. Bottom line he is team player. Some may question why he is not playing the whole games. Just look on the sidelines and how he encourages his teammates. Watching him play in person is just unbelievable. Watching the highlights does not even come close on how to describe it and Bronco Nation is absolutely crazy about him. He loves being a Bronco. Yes, of course, I feel he deserves the Heisman. Only time will time. He deserves all the national attention he is getting. Thank you for a great video. GO BRONCOS
Been waiting on a video about Jeanty frl, my favorite to win Heisman rn he's doing so good rn that even in CFB 25 you can't replicate what he's doing. The other day I did a simulation to see how close bro could get to his current stat line in the same amount of games and he never got anywhere close in the 10 sims I did 😭 closest was 840 yards 11 tds which is pretty close but 200 yards and 5 tds short which is insane
I will be admittedly biased, but this guy has only played 4 total games and has racked up those stats. He has been held out of the 2nd half of 2 games this season. An entire game worth of stats and is still leading college football.
Watch him closeley. Complete package- excellent blocker and top tier runner. Hed have 1500+ yds already but they keep pulling him out after 2 qtrs and saving him. His running really is exceptional, and Heisman worthy.
1000+ yards in 5 games as a rb is literally INSANE. If boise ends up making the playoffs he could very well get over 3000 yards. Fuck maybe he could even turn it up and get upwards of 4k.. for a running back, one person, to rush for more yards than most record setting qbs throw for including heisman winners. Its literally insane, and if he doesnt win the award needs to just be thrown away
Hes got the speed, hes got the moves, hes got the instinct, and hes got the power aswell as the ethic to carry his team. He always breaks the tackles, he stiff arms people like its a grown man holding a baby Hes like if you made a 99 overall rb on like all stats its insane. I hadnt seen him play before this seaso then i went back and watched some of his games from last year and if jeanty doesnt win a heisman before he leaves college the heisman trophy they need to just get rid of the trophy.
I am an Oregon fan. Thats my team. But, at the same time I have always rooted for Boise St. Its hard to not root for the team as a whole. And no denying dude is a spectacular player. And yeah, he would have my vote if it was today.
This is copied from Barry Sanders Bio page. "Sanders took over the starting running back spot in 1988 and proceeded to crank out a season for the ages. Sanders rushed for 2,628 yards, an average of 238.9 yards per game, with 37 rushing touchdowns." That was in 11 games of which he sat many quarters of football. He had 222 yards and 5 td's against No. 15 Wyoming in the Holiday bowl. His bowl stats are not included in his season stats. I love Ashton Jeanty and watch his highlights every week. He is an absolute beast but Barry's 1988 season might never be reproduced.
Barry was averaging 31 carries a game; Jeanty is averaging 19 carries a game. The total number of games played is a deceiving stat because it doesn't account for volume or sitting out during blowouts.
as a long-time Boise St fan I would like to first say Thank You for this video, too often good players are ignored because they are not at a Power program. Secondly, the fact that even now many college football "experts" are just now learning of AJ is a testament to what is wrong with college football today; there is very strong bias. Bias stems from ignorance.
Imagine if he would play a full game, his numbers and team performance would be so off the chart they’ll have to deliver him the trophy. Travis hunter my actually have some competition
People do seem to forget the legacy of running backs that have come through Boise State. Even Ian Johnson back in the day went to New York for the heisman ceremony.
I am honestly shocked this comp hasn't been made, at least that I have seen. With his size and playstyle, he seems almost like a carbon copy of Priest Holmes. I think this comp is spot on; in my opinion, they move similarly, and for their size, they are harder than they appear to bring down. Both are 5' 9" and play around the 215lb mark. They both showed versatility in both pass and run games. Holmes obviously showed this at the NFL level, where Jeanty still would need to prove it, but they also both possess a unique blend of finesse and power when needed. They won't be caught in the open field. Needing more than an arm tackle to tackle these smaller backs, I instantly saw shades of Holmes in the way Jeanty plays and even looks. He should be a great player at the next level.
This dude is pure beast!!! Mix of Barry sanders, marshawn lynch and name a very fast RB. He’s absolutely destroying it. He stays healthy…. Boise state makes a run in the playoffs and Ashton wins the heisman. I am rooting for him all day!!
RB success has a lot to do with the scheme and line play. I know kids who average 7 to 9 yrds a carry, 180 yrds a game as a sophomore or freshman but 4 yrds a play and 60 yrds a game as a senior due to line play.
Hes a good running back. Yeaaaa. Hes getting the ball like for 30 mins a game. Hes a good running back. QB's are good quarterbacks. If we talking traditional position, he is doing the best at his position. But he is no Travis Hunter. The Heisman is reserved for the best player in College Football. What travis is doing has NEVER EVER been done at the volume that he is doing it on BOTH sides of the ball. With 6 Games left travis is gonna act a fool. Travis impact on both sides of the ball is ridiculous. Teams have to adjust when they see him both on offense and defense. When a player like that can impact the entire game and change the course and the outcome of a game, the heisman is no contest. He is CLEARLY the Heisman. Travis Hunter.
I gassed the hell out of Jeanty during the off-season. If he was underwhelming I would have looked stupid. Respect to Ashton as a fellow military brat, though I'm from Texas.
Analysts have already stated that they will never give the Heisman to a BSU RB or even a smaller school player. It's all about the big boy schools. I believe if he keeps up the pace, he will have earned it. Sadly, voters are biased and won't stay up late to watch West Coast FB.
with the number of BCS bowls boise went to and the lack of bcs bowls rutgers went to, rutgers makes 10 times as much media share revenue than boise. And still boise some how makes it to the national stage each year. Go broncos :)
He’s good but he plays against weaker competition than p4 schools . And the only p4 team he played was Oregon and they give up 113 yards a game which is 33rd in the nation , not horrible but definitely not a good run defense . Disclaimer I am not hating , I think he’s great but historically mid major schools don’t produce heisman, weaker schedule .
He’s the best bsu running back since ajayi for sure. As a Seahawks fan, he reminds me so much of lynch with the great balance and broken tackles except he has way more burst and closing speed than marshawn ever had. He’s like a relentless bowling ball that bounces off defenders and somehow loses little to no speed it doesn’t even make sense
Every team has mostly “nobody’s” on their schedule and a few tough games. You’re just biased and have no clue the record of the teams they’ve played. He’s sat out the 2nd half of two of the five games this year and still has these ridiculous numbers.
@@jimbo0386 I get all that. I didn’t say they wouldn’t be. I love Boise State and I’m rooting for the kid and I think him winning would be great for the program but all I’m saying is it hasn’t been done in almost 50 years. All the winners have come from one of the big conferences.
@@ygrezziewhile that is true, Jeanty is on pace to match or even surpass Barry sanders heisman season numbers. In a sport that has gotten “pass happy”, that is nothing short of insane and more than warrants being the heisman favorite
Not sure if you’re saying Big 10 defenses aren’t very good, but Oregon is a top 5 team and like I said still in the top 25 for run defense. He didn’t play second half of the two easier defenses they’ve played. Just watch him play and be open minded. Pretty much every game he’s breaks multiple tackles and out runs defenses to the end zone.
This hype is out of control, a 5’7 running back that runs 4.5 is top 10 because he’s running all over D1AA level defenses???? This is insane, he is not a better prospect than Bijan or Jahmyr Gibbs
Play ESPN I love how you rated this dude of three star and hey rivals I love how you rated this dude a two-star you suck at rating recruits ESPN people stop it
Running backs winning Heismans and going top 5 in the draft are over! Running backs have become disposable in the NFL now! They dont care about them at all!!
