I see Draymond as a mentor and cheerleader as a significant factor in unlocking JK. JK learning defense and court vision from Draymond will greatly raise his ceiling.
I don't see that. CP3 certainly bring unique intensity and defensive skills but they seem to be uniquely based on his personality and instincts. I see him as inspirational influence. (And we sorely miss him!) JK has the potential to dominate. Draymond dominates on defense and if JK can learn defense from Draymond he will be an elite player. Wiggins can help JK by getting good on floor chemistry but Wiggins doesn't seem to have the will to dominate on offense and he's not modeling elite play. @@gabrielfrancisco6687
Finally, I am not alone saying that. His style and creativity reminds me of Jordan, and now he's starting to show us the beast mode that's been building up. I hope he continues peaking because he sure did not reach his limit yet.
Wow. They are completely different players. I see JK has having far greater willingness to listen and learn. He also has a different level of strength. I think he's modeling is work habits after Steph and Draymond. Just look at the work he's put in on his foul shooting. Hard work in addition to his natural talent. Plus JK is keenly aware that he needs to get teammates involved. I didn't see that in Jordan. (Glad he's gone.)
@@HasSFRight now kuminga just barely reach the top dude is still 21 and what is scary is his mid range and 3 ball is clicking now, but he better be ready next season cause other teams will not take him lightly
His game is a true pleasure to watch. In the era of only shooting threes it’s refreshing to see someone that’s driving the ball you can tell he has been working hard on his post and mid range game. I’ll be extremely disappointed if they ever trade him. He has way too much upside and is still really young so he has a nice long career ahead of him.
Fr ive changed from “can’t wait to see what Curry does” to now “can’t wait to see what Kuminga does” going into every Warriors game now 😂 I mean like you said of course there’s Curry but im just so excited seeing Kuminga develop and progress into what he’s been doing in this insane stretch, and he’s only gonna keep getting BETTER!!!!!!! Yea the whole 2 timeline plan still might work!
I been saying kuminga was a beast since I first seen him play and once he develops some more and really fine tune his game it’s gone be scary we are watching the birth of a star unfold
Kuminga is a rising star, he should hitch himself to Steph and Clay and learn from two of the best shooters that ever played the game. Stay healthy and humble young man and your works will be greatly rewarded.
Watching JK learn from draymonds court vision is a beautiful thing. Dude got buzzed and is unstopable now. 8 games in a row with 20+ points. All it took was a little fire under Kerrs ass to get him to let Kuminga run it.
Check his FT% since he got playing time. He's around 75%. He's had most of these moves but always sped up his play since it was part of the system to catch and react. That wasn't his game. He actually improved by slowing it down in the half court
His shooting wasnt his strenght in other seasons, but in the warriors even ben Simmons would have a improving shot, they would look for players that are good on other áreas like kuminga and Just improve them, now kerr needs to move the rotations for moody and kuminga, they are balling
It's the culture in practice. Looks who JK has as models for both weight lifting, agility exercises and shooting practice. He definitely was not happy with his poor foul shooting and he's worked on it. We are so lucky to have him and thank goodness they didn't take any of the trade offers.
@@Crossover... that's good for those 7 footers honestly but I really don't think the emphasis for kuminga is just up your 3pt percentage like that. I think if he becomes lethal from midrange and in the post teams will probably scheme for that which could open up the 3 since it won't be what people plan for
@@calmdownbruh8518 he can but I think people have lost sight of certain aspects of the game of basketball with this 3pt era we are in. Kuminga has a fluid middie and elevation that can't be stopped only things that can stop him is himself(mentally) or physical injuries
Good video, only thing is “warriors have a track record of developing young talent”. Take a look at their last ten years compared to other drafts and tell me how many picks are even still in the league, let alone their team.
But if you look back further than that they drafted and developed Steph, Klay, and Draymond who have certainly left their mark on the league. Most teams don’t have one guy they developed on their own let alone three what with the rise in the popularity of free agency. I think one of the main reasons the NBA tv ratings are cratering is because who wants to be a fan of a team when that team can have a complete player turnover every couple of years? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that ratings have plummeted when players jump ship every couple of years.
@@cotati76 Everyone always says "remember 13 years ago when we drafted well?". It's time to move on. The guys who had a major say in those drafts are gone (or 1 person still playing a minor role as an assistant in the front office), and none of the people who "developed" them is around. Can't hang onto the past forever. That's all I was getting at, we don't have a track record of drafting well since those years. I agree with you on the ratings falling a bit because of inconsistency of players sticking with teams, but that's also a part of the business side. The warriors are in an awkward position right now as they are riding that extremely thin line currently. How to maintain keeping the older players who may be slowing down a bit, while also incorporating young and upcoming players.
I don't know how you can say that. They have the reputation of giving one-on-one help to individual players. This is supposed to include footwork coaching, shooting coaching and physical conditioning coaching. I've heard that the other players are jealous of the Golden State staff and players regret being traded from Golden State (unless of course it's for a big bag and more playing time.)
This is why Dunleavy says Kuminga is untouchable. Speculation here, but the _only_ trade JK would be included in is if the Warriors were getting a player like Giannis, KD, PG or another superstar on that level who is under contract for multiple years in return.Other than that, Kuminga staying in a Warriors uniform.
Andre Iguodala & Draymond in his ear . He has the ability to be very very good at basketball I know he has that dog in him . I can see him being a combination of Iggy Kawhi & Giannis in his own way
I think that Draymond's return has been a big factor. Think about JK learning about other players and getting hints from a defensive genius on how to exploit certain defenders. JK seems to be a hardworking eager learner.
2:31 “2001 draft” then “we all know the warriors have a great track record of developing young talent” Those two super false statements killed my interest in this video. Gotta be more mindful of the details man. Keep grinding. ✊🏽
