BoozermaN’s anecdote at the ending concerning his cousin was so heartwarming. I lost a cousin this passing March who I introduced to Nintendo Wii classics like Mario Kart, NSMB, Smash Bros and of course, Sonic, whenever she and others came for family gatherings in the ‘00s. I cherish those times so dearly even more now. Thanks for this insightful look back on some of my favourite animations before Volume 9 tomorrow, and a major thanks to the SP team. ❤️💯
I remember going on their Sonic Paradox forum as a 13 year old when Bit_Master or Boozermaster whoever was moderating it, changed my handle to crude stuff like "I love c**k" and then I change it back and then he changes it to "I still love c***" because I would go into the wrong channels and advertise my horrible sonic short ideas because I didnt have flash at that point. The good ol days when moderators were moderators
@@Mahamarr Whatever they were, both accounts got banned for my childish sonic-autism-fueled escapades. And for the second account, I remember that I used my older brothers email at the time, because I didnt realize that, yes, you could make plural amount of email accounts ad infinitum.
Not only was this my childhood but these genuinely helped me get into art, animation, and learn english. I wouldn't be who I am today without these videos my 6 year old self used to watch even though I couldn't understand a word back then
This was a great video to watch! Made me hugely nostalgic, being a part of the SP team for as many years as I have. Plenty more works in the process, so I hope to see you guys there when we release them all!
Omg Sonic Shorts was my damn CHILDHOOD!! My first introduction to the franchise after I saw my older cousin playing SADX.. I remember finding the first Sonic Short Collection in a weird website that had games and I realized it was the same Sonic! I loved how silly the shorts were, I was so obssesed with them and the other volumes.. I'm so happy to see it back
Sonic Shorts had a big impact on my childhood. I remember watching the whole series (Volume 1-8) on Newgrounds and RU-vid when I was a little kid. The internet was such a magical place during that time. I'm so glad I grew up watching these. So many amazing and magical memories... 💙
I was at that sonic fan fest! That was a fantastic time seeing a new shorts revealed there and then! Really had a blast meeting all the crew there too. ^^
Gosh, I remember a friend of mine in highschool and I would just quote some of these shorts all the time. I'm always checking every so often to see what new things Sonic Paradox is up to.
Great video summarizing the history of the channel. I remember watching Sonic Paradox and their videos when volume 8 was out and loving the animations. I was definitely too young to be watching them but now as an adult who does animate I appreciate their legacy even more
This shit was my childhood. I remember coming across these shorts after I had watched those Sonic Halloween Flash animations (the ones where Sonic killed Tails and used parts of his body as a costume... Idr why I ever found that funny). But yeah. This shit was incredible and I'm glad to see the channel is getting some new traction. I remember laughing at the Vector circle button joke as a kid but never understanding why. When I rewatched it later into my teen years, I understood the joke and now it's one of my favorite jokes from the Sonic Paradox team.
Thank you for interviewing the members of Sonic Paradox for this. Only seems appropriate to do it, now that Sonic Shorts Volume 9 is coming out today and we've had all those spinoffs. Including the short with PhantomStrider as Tails Doll.
Sonic Shorts was my childhood and I always wondered to why they stopped in 2013. I actually never knew/remembered they got hacked and I'm happy to see Sonic Shorts come back, the Sonic Seconds and other animations they've been doing are great but the OG Sonic Shorts can't be beat.
Sonic Paradox was a huge part of my childhood, I'm glad they're getting the recognition they deserve. Semi-related, I'm looking for a specific animation from one of the Shorts (I think) and I can't find it. It was a simple art style, it had Eggman in it, and used the Competition Results music from S3&K. I can't remember the 'plot' but I'm pretty sure it was a tutorial (not the ChakraX Fan Character Tutorial) and at one point the words "That Is It" appeared on screen as Eggman gyrated at high speeds. There was no spoken dialogue iirc. Any help would be appreciated, I've been searching for years.
3:32: This dude sang a song that almost dates back to when these shorts started. Oh, it was from 15 years ago, at least. It's High School Musical, btw.
Watched sonic shorts 9 as it was premiering my bf wasnt in the know about them before hand (strange to hear from a furry) as the original shorts were a big part of my childhood. After the premier I showed him all the other shorts along with the seaside musical. Felt so nice to share the legacy of these shorts to him as I often quote them. Sonic is also a reason why I started drawing in the first place really need to do more fun animations
I got introduced to sonic back in the early 2010s with the 3ds port of Generations, but what really got me into the series was the many Sonic AMVs and fan animations on youtube from back then. It's really cool to still see these guys kicking after so long and apparently doing even better than ever. Volume 9 is going to explode in views from fans old and new.
I was just rewatching the Sonic Shorts a few days ago! Being a young Sonic Fan in 2008 ans with recent access to RU-vid. These were some of my core childhood memories. And some of my favorite videos back then! They still hold a very special place in my heart!
God this takes me back. I totally forgot about these videos, but back in the day I must have watched them like every week. Miss those golden era Newgrounds days...
It would be my absolute dream to be a part of sonic paradox some day in the future. I've been watching this for as long as I can remember. I'm turning 18 in a few days. Sonic paradox has literally been a core part of my life since the beginning Unfortunately I don't have any animation skills or cleaver short ideas
You're telling me that Sonic Paradox got their channel back, started re-uploading new based content, AND NOBODY TOLD ME! I have a lot of catching up to do now. Thank you, viney man, for informing me.
Grew up with this in my time on newgrounds. Used to be on the sonic collection the most and also, mario, megaman, naruto, anime and...the adult toons..
God getting the channel stolen fucking sucks. Like, not even some drama that people can laugh at later, just, "oops, channel's gone." Conversely, it makes the revival all the greater because it's clear everyone's just here to have fun.
I didn't even know they got hacked I'm glad they got back And i'm really happy volume 9 is real and that i literally remember all the shi i saw as a 12yod on the other shorts :)
Sonic Shorts left such an impact on me. I distinctly remember this one short where Sonic breaks both arms, gets lectured by Knuckles, mocks Knuckles, and has one of this broken arms punched by Knuckles.
🎶How dare you try to infiltrate my home and hope you may steal my precious joules. The chaos emeralds belong to me. You shall parish if you break rules. I'll take these gems of yours. See how you like it yourself. Now leave this island, you spiky little feam if you know what's good for your health!!🎶
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't watch the newest installment all the way through. I found it to be unfunny, like they adopted a "lol random XD" sense of humor. I know I'm not speaking from nostalgia because the jokes aren't actual jokes.
Yusuke198 here. Nearly 20 years later, I'm still astounded by the impact SP has had on people today. I know it certainly had an impact on me and my life, my closest friends today and I all met through these shorts and collabs when we were all kids- but to see it have this large of an impact, still to this day, to the point where a documentary has been made and there's a 9th volume on the way... It's surreal. Thank y'all.
Sonic shorts were my childhood and I loved everything from paradox since but I didn't know any of this and am excited for episode 9 thank you for this amazing documentary
i've been part of this family for over 15 years and i absolutely cannot believe it. thank you so much to all of our viewers and thank you endlessly to all of my fellow sp members. our panel in 2013 is one of my fondest memories and i will never forget how happy i was during our heyday, having calls and hangouts every night until i couldn't stay awake anymore. the people in this community have been intertwined into my life; my partner is part of SP and i've even been to a wedding for one of the members. it's crazy to me how one little request from someone changed my life. i still can't believe that so many people call me *their* tails, and i am honored and grateful to continue to keep him around for years to come! ❤️ thank you so much for this video, it really warmed my heart. i am so proud and thankful to have people like you in our corner, wallace 💕
Sonic Shorts was one of the first Sonic-related contents I have seen in my entire life. And I am truly thankful (or not) for introducing me to this franchise I now love.
