I think a new strategy would be for the first and last player to pair up. The last player helps the leading player win in exchange for him overtaking the other two players.
I feel like not 3:1ing your ore those middle orbits twice hurt you quite a bit. Always getting a dev card than holding ore when your 10 wheat is blocked is quite risky. IDK though it could've gone either way but I would've just pulled a dev card.
I agree and it's not even just because of the benefit of hindsight. In normal circumstances, maybe in the early - mid game, playing efficiently is the way to go. But I feel like Dylighted sometimes tunnels on always using his resources in the most economical way possible without taking into account the blocks/risk of 7 out or risk of being jacked (and in this case, all of them happened at some point because he was in first place). The advantage from using the port in that position is huge as it would zero out his hand, meaning that his opponent would be stolen from 100 percent + he would get a very valuable dev.
Just want to say, love your Twitch streams, no matter the result. Your enthusiasm and competitiveness are great to watch. Appreciate your perfectionism, but you're super fun to watch, even if you lose. Catan is a wild game, high highs and lows lows.
I remember this game. My predictions on twitch chat about this game were true. The most funny thing that I remember is that on red’s last turn with 17 cards, he can just do 2 road and build a house on blue’s road and extend 2 road to win
Red has huge economy by the end though. Like red is on 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 and producing 70 production points (or about averaging 2 cards every roll)
I think the thumbnail and video title are incorrect? The thumbnail shows a settlement on two wood tiles, which you don't have in the game in the actual video
Ok, I don’t get how red won. Was it really just have bad set up and good trades, get lucky with rolls then once you’ve expanded to a couple extra spots you’re not behind any more
Red was allowed to get a 3:1 port when they already had a sheep port. Good brick and wood plus space on the board so longest road was theirs to lose plus all the expansion spots made them unblockable
I placed on the 4-11 in this one (Not my video): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MRBPxneGFEQ.html Not gonna say if I won or not, as to not introduce spoilers. :)
