I’m not the biggest Gobert fan, but the disrespect here is unreal. The two other centers everyone talked about for DPOY were AD and Wemby. In his last 3 games against each of them Jokic had a combined average of 29.5 pts, with a high and low of 42 and 22, both against Wemby. He got 20 rebounds against AD one night. That 22 pt low against Wemby he was 3 rebounds shy of a triple double. The best any DPOY suggestion did was hold him 3 rebounds shy of a 22pt triple double. He’s cooking everybody, not just Rudy. Stop this nonsense.

haha, exactly. Shaq figured out how to cook all the under-sized and under-skilled centers of the late 90's and early 2000s. To be fair to Shaq, he absolutely had quick feet and did a lot more than just bowl people over. But also he got cooked by Duncan so many times, got cooked by 6'7" Rodman on many occasions, and also by 6'9" Ben Wallace in the NBA Finals. Those last two guys were great players but also it's hard to deny how it's a reflection of that era that undersized 4+5 guys could consistently dominate the NBA during that time.

I adore Jokic for his style if gameplay. But watching Gobert ensured me in his DPOY. Jokic is an offensive beast but every time he spins, fakec, etc.. Rudy is there. Quick repositioning, quick footwork. But a defender is always a step behind an attacker, that's how it is. Respect to Gobert for never giving up. Still, I hope Jokic is going to cook him in match 6 :D

Kareem, wilt and Shaq were more dominant, and you can probably even find a place for Bill Russel and his success. But total package coach's dream basketball maestro... Hakeem was the goat.
No disrespect to Nikola but his nowhere near being the greatest center, he's a high skilled guy in the softest era for centers. Ben, Dikembe, Hakeem, Wilt and Russell could all slow him down even with today's rules

I’ve noticed a disturbing trend with the NBA media when it comes to Jokic coverage. Instead of just focusing on, celebrating the brilliance that this guy is clearly showcasing in his increasing all-time great career, they wanna make it about anything and everything but what he’s doing. Draymond wants to make it all about Rudy Gobert. It doesn’t matter who’s guarding Jokic, he is that great offensively and he’s absolutely toying with the NBA right now.
Have to admit, Shaq's overtly classless act by what he said has taken the fun and love out of this show. I'm relieved to see a lot of other people still have a bad taste in their mouths over it even days later. Honestly think people like Ernie should have a private talk with him about how truly low and disappointing it was for him to do that. It's one thing if Shaq wants to lose peoples respect just for him, but it's another for him to tarnish the reputation of the show and the whole group.

Now they're just deflecting blame for their chosen next face of the NBA. Ant, KAT, Naz, all could play better TOGETHER. They're getting beat by Denver's defense and Denver's offense is making them so exhausted on the defensive end that they get gassed when they have the ball. Denver countered Minnesota's defense and Coach Finch hasn't found his counter-counter-strategy yet.
Saying you need to guard Jokic with KAT is just dumb. Jokic probably has 100 pounds on him in AND Kat is soft af. Gobert played as good defense as anybody in the league could have, Jokic is just that good.

Majority of the time joker is shooting with the outside hand, meaning if he is spinning left, focus on blocking the right hand. If Jokic is spinning right, focus on blocking Jokic’s left hand. Jump shots right handed, dribbles right handed. Make him uncomfortable. Just because he is tall, doesn’t mean give up. Step up to the challenge like Barkley said. If you can’t block the hand, try interrupt the arm by pushing his shoulder, smack his armpit, double team where the help comes from the blindside for a play or 2. Step on his shoe.
