Sadly the history of the tzitzits was wrong. They're not 613 knots, nor were the tassels worn at the time like these. The tzitzits of today come from Rabbinic tradition and are different, depending on whether you are Ashkenazi or Sephardic, Orthodox or Messianic, etc. Each tassel has eight threads (when doubled over) and five sets of knots. 8 strings+5 knots=13. The numerical value of "Tzitzit" in Hebrew is 600. Letters have a numerical value in Hebrew. thus 613. Many of the cultures of that time wore tassels. Even the Philistine men, the enemy of Isreal, wore tassels on the fringe of their garments. No one seems to know why this was. I sure was surprised by it, but ancient wall depictions show it in several instances. Shalom

Honestly the fact Dallas talked with a rabbi is great imo, it can add an extra layer of authenticity. Too many Christian productions of Bible stories have a very surface level Jewishness which makes it feel too "westernized"

I think the Egyptians kept small sight hounds too. They weren’t as tall as our greyhounds, but maybe closer to the size of a modern day whippet.
