You absolutely right Liam you don’t need to land each board on a joist as it is tongue and grooved and a structural product. 👍🏻

Firstly I know John from childhood🤔 secondly seeing as you like Milwaukee so much J !, All my tools are RED😂. But the 12v or 18v Milwaukee "pruner" chainsaw it is a beast, either of them. Plus no gas and works in the cold fine. You will not be disappointed👍. Also quicker way to get your string square, use the 3,4,5 rule and it will be much much quicker guys

Thanks for the reply guys - yes it was a flitch beam I was thinking about / I will try and run the roof slope sideways instead / the garden room won’t take over half the garden as the garden is 120ft long. Thanks once again - Jon (will be purchasing a load of raffle tickets) 👍🏼

Fantastic videos, not just for what I'm learning but also it's brilliant to see such a great team working together A couple of questions... If you were just putting up one garden room (6x4) would you get (ebay or hire) a nail gun (which one, framing or finishing?) or would you just stick with a hammer?! I think you said that you will clad the rear wall near the fence before putting it up; given the weight of the wall could you please explain/demonstrate how you would do this if you were doing it by yourself. And final question (sorry, sort of about the rods) in a previous video you said that you cut the shoes that the beams sit on yourselves. Is this still the case or can they be bought from Bapps? ...Maybe this is answered in the build pack!! (At the beginning of the series I was sceptical - you're doing a great job of selling them, I'm now convinced! Anyway, hope you get a chance to answer these, again thanks for putting this series together, you're a real inspiration!

Is that the 6 didgit number on the post hole diggers? I love my IM350+ just the fact that it’s lighter, the new battery and the holder to stop it slipping out is much better, and you can use cheap nails. IMO the rawplug nails from Screwfix are the cheapest. Keep up the quality content and banter 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

See: Makita B-43387 Hollow Socket, 3/4 x 24-Inch, Makita have a range of these, don't know if they are compatible with the nut size used here. I don't personally think it's worth it for a the DIY installer, but a no-brainer for what these guys do.

Loving the new series. Raffle ticket purchased and voted. Just an observation - would it be a good idea once you've drilled the pad to put a square washer and lock it down against the concrete for the rods that you resin in? You can't be sure how much concrete is left under the rod once you've drilled the pad so the washer would ensure the rod couldn't push down over the years.

Have you ever considered an annexe build? Where planning permission is required as it would need to be habitable. We are currently sourcing someone to do the project 11m x 3.5m the quotes we have received are outrageous for what it is as we know what goes into it, Love the channel and would be a great market for you to explore. We know you would do just as good of a job if not better. If this is something of interest we would love to get involved and happy for you to document the process.

Rubber roof question. When buying mine today they advised applying g glue to rubber and OSB. And waiting for it to tack off. I'd prefer to do it your way. What do you think ??
@chrisb2443
@chrisb2443 Год назад
If I did my roof again I wouldn’t bother with the contact adhesive around the edges. I thought I gave it enough time to tack off but it kept blistering after installation. If I did it again I would just run the regular adhesive to the edges like Oakwood do. The perimeter trims hold it secure anyway.
