@Logan Knight Trailers lie sometimes but most of the time, what you see in the trailer is what you get in the movie. It's rare that you get a Sonic situation where they reshoot and change the movie after the trailers come out. Terminator Salvation, for example, had the entire movie in the trailer and nothing was changed when it released. Maybe the reason the "common sense" you describe isn't so common is because it's wrong.

if you read the novel of hg well, or watched the original movie from 1933, or even paul verhoeven loosely version the hollow man you can get the idea what its all about. but its not about whats its about its about HOW it tell it in its execution, and this is coming from the director of upgrade and that movie was awesome (hell its a better venom movie than the actual venom movie) so im hype

I stopped the trailer halfway through because I decided I liked it and the trailer was telling me A LOT. I would have loved thinking maybe she was crazy, but the trailer makes it pretty clear she's not.

The trailer might have seemed to make an interesting premise to him. I totally agree on you statement about trailers, though it's showing what seems as a somewhat "fighting back" tropes which is probably why he was thinking that way. Although this is made by Blumhouse, same guys who utilized the same trope in a movie where a deaf woman fights against a burglar and wins, but also dies so he may be skeptical of what's to come.

Before watching the movie I read the comments, people were complaining about the trailer so I stopped. Now finishing the movie I see how they spoiled the movie, this trailer sucks but the movie is just incredible.

The movie is BETTER if you saw the trailer. It misleads you and makes you think the invisible man is going to show up at some scenes but he doesn't. Some part of the trailer are either cut or actually fake shots to trick the watchers.

To be fair, if you’re naming the movie “The Invisible Man”, it’d be rather difficult to not have a spoiler. Plus, the trailer doesn’t show how he became invisible and that he’s not killing people just for shits and giggles like in slashers. The ending could’ve been a tad better but it was still unpredictable and it’s hard to say whether there’d be a sequel or not

Except it's not. This film is more directly based on the novel than normal adaptations are. That is definitely not the ending. It's the reveal scene. If it's faithful to novel, it's going to end with a modernized version of the novel's final twists.

Idk how I feel about the trailer. Yeah it was great but it leaves no surprises for us. They could have left out the info about how he turned invisible and the scene with the girl's father getting beat up, and the scene with the phone. I can pretty much guess the plot at this point.

I was wondering is this still apart of the Dark Universe ? Also I liked The Mummy 2017 I thought it was better than the one that came out in 2008.

the 'dark universe', as a label, has actually been discontinued. quoting from the invisible man (1933) wikipedia page it states, "In January 2019, Universal announced that it would completely scrap the Dark Universe and make filmmaker-driven films based on the classic monsters"; more along the lines of artsy films such as 'joker' than more tom cruise action flicks. it could be drawn from this that the movies in this new franchise are supposed to be entirely independent of one another.

@duncan check out the new universal epic universe theme park. They have an entire land dedicated to the dark universe/ classic monsters. I remember when they cancelled the whole dark universe bit and was kinda disappointed, but if you look at the concept art for Epic Universe, this classic monster section of the park pretty prominent, located to the left of the hotel. The fact that they dedicated a land to this extremely surprised me, but I think it will be a nice addition to feature the classic universal studios monsters. Having some serious Monster Squad flashbacks right now. Veeeeeer. Giiiiiin. Lol 😆
