The further away you get them to the car, the better the viewing angle. Plus there's also cameras on the bottom of them allowing 360 and curb views etc.

Door mirrors work 100% of the time , there is no upgrade necessary.

This is the top spec model. Real mirrors come with lower spec versions. I agree it is money to waste. Besides, you don’t need to check your mirrors with these cars. You just flash and the car will use its sensors and steer itself when it is safe.

Why drain extra battery by powering two screens for the use of a simple mirror? They’re prone to electrical failures and you’re telling me they couldn’t fit a camera in a smaller wing

I agree they are large, but they have advantages. You dont have to adjust the mirrors for example and the view is probably a bit better. About battery "draining", we are talking about 77 kWh for 300 miles. The power those cameras and screens are using is literally just a drop in the ocean

the whole purpose of camera mirrors in the first place is that they have far less drag than regular mirrors which helps contribute to a longer range overall

The whole point of cameras vs mirrors is to preserve maximum aerodynamics, as mirrors protrude outward and are typically the least aerodynamic part of a car. But for some reason here Hyundai have their cameras looking even less aerodynamic than usual mirrors??...

I have seen smaller cameras with a wide field of view, even my phone camera has a wide field of view. Show how these manufacturers want to top up their wallets one way or another. If it ain't broke don't fix it...... Simples

Just get a top spec VW GTI Clubsport, and be done with it. The doors mirrors camera thing is hedious, at least the Honda E got a better job at it. What a gimmicky tacky piece of s. There’s nothing streamlined about the Ioniq5. It’s huge with a massive frontal area. Yeah the drag coefficient is mentioned as 0.29, but that actual frontal area is large. I doubt those bulky square shaped cameras make any meaningful difference. But the millenials love them, just one (or two) more things to go wrong.
