You are correct but after arresting you, the state is then required to produce evidence to prove that you are guilty. And if they cannot then you have to be released. The difference with the hate speech bill is that the onus can be placed upon you to prove that you are innocent. E.g. someone sends you a meme that is deemed to be hateful. You might have done nothing with it, looked at it once and forgotten about it but should you be arrested for being in possession of 'hate material' you must now prove that you did not intend to disseminate the image any further. That and the fact that they decided not to actually define what hate speech actually is.

What I mean is that we know RTE is funded by a combination Licence and advertising. With regard to State propaganda RTE is subject to regulation overseen by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. We haven't a clue as to how Gript Media obtained its original start up funding or who the investors were and the amount it receives from its Subscriptions and if this its only source of funding.
