I think Scorcese was analyzing Al Pacino hand gestures and he approved it. He was looking at his hands. I think he approved this scene specially because of Al Pacino hands gesture. They are both geniuses. It's those kind of nuances that make them great.

I agree with Scorsese's statement, Marvel movies are a frozen meal, they all have the same taste since the construction of the movies are similar. A film like this by Scorsese is different from any other movie, it's a beautiful restaurant dish: it has its own taste, its own peculiarity. Disney in general in the last years went for ready-made productions: you can see it in star wars, in marvel, in their live actions, in their animated classic movies though, it's always been there sine the beginning, but the rest is just a big money machine with no soul in it. That's where the problem is, people are ok with frozen meals, but then if you give them a 5 stars meal, their taste will change.

Yeah, there's an entire industry that used to exist with television to hide so many little flaws - an actor could roll in from a night of partying and they could make him look fresh. Example: The work done with Kurt Russell had a lot of digital help but they also had his long-time makeup guy do a lot of work as well.

I have no problem with sex scenes and nudity if the story requires it. If it makes sense. The Wolf of Wall Street showed the rampant, anarchistic life of these new-rich crooks in all their unbridledness. All the sex and the drugs give the viewer a feeling for it. They are important for the eventual fall of the main character. It makes sense. Nudity only because of nudity is like action only because of action. Like in the Michael Bay films. Then it's just boring

Best Picture Best Director Best Actor - Pacino Best Editing Best adapted screenplay Best Music (Robertson/Morrison) Just my opinion. Will it sweep the Oscars? I doubt it. Will it win any of these awards? I hope it wins at least one. So far, the only real competition is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. In the end, it doesn't't really matter. Scorsese and Co. created a masterpiece.

Remember the oscars like to boycott streaming movies, this one had a theatrical release yes but it's still made by Netflix. Without netflix's budget, this movie was never gonna be picked up by anyone.

Yes it was. But it was really only the prison scenes and later since all of Pacino’s scenes were deaged (and thus shot digitally)
