Seeing that scene in theaters - Mike getting the new vinyl, opening the plastic, queuing it up with the needle, the drop, Kerry looking back, and then it being the walkout song - amazing.
The casting for Kerry was way off(great young actor), but Kerry was 6'5 and JACKED to the gills. He was built like a Greek God and that was thing. He was incredibly strong. It just doesn't do it justice imo
This is the best movie I have ever seen every actor should get a academy award especially the guy who portrayed fritz von Eric and Zac eferonwho played Kevin voneric best movie of 2024 hands down 😊
@@bobafittness1346 I tried to keep my expectations for Flair small, but my god the guy played him like he just skimmed Ric's Wikipedia 5 min before shooting.
the best thing about this is that i just discovered Tom Sawyer this past September and i even learned the whole on the drums AND im a big wrestling nerd
My friend, you are about to embark on one of the greatest journies you've ever done in your life... and that is going through Rush's (the band who plays Tom Sawyer) catalog. Start with the moving pictures album and you'll be hooked for life
@@CallumDickson666I saw both. I give it to Iron Claw because it’s so tragic. It’s ridiculous how much Kevin went through when this was all preventable.
I’m a woman that’s been around wrestling my whole life trying to understand being as excited as they are for it but couldn’t ever truly. I saw this movie Christmas Day and damn was it extremely tragic but amazing. I really understand seeing your gender empowered in such a visceral way and the message of perseverance/greatness in the sport. What a powerful story about the importance of emotional intelligence and communication AND mental health. It hurts to see the curse that takes too long to be broken in this case. Truly the power of speaking up against outdated toxic life ruining traditions/patriarchal standards SAVES LIVES AND FAMILIES. This movie was to real. The mourning and the trauma and the preventable nature of it. It’s so insane that if the father was 20% less of a cold hard idiot and showed his sons equal respect and love they would literally all be with us still today. Excellent ending was really real too. Innocent kids and the younger generations after seeing our parents struggle really heal the entire bloodline. 10/10 movie I literally understand wrestling now.
@@user-vw7qe1cf9xit doesn’t take steroids to obtain this physique. It is mainly just packing on muscle, then doing a cut. They dehydrate themselves to obtain the physique with low body fat % and vascularity.
Definitely roids. Not because their physique is unachievable naturally, because it is, but because of how quickly they got these result That is at least 8-10 years of consistent lifting. s@@user-vw7qe1cf9x
wolverines was short in the comics (5'3 I believe) its just that Hugh Jackman was too perfect for the role and he was tall. I dont think height will effect the character that much considering Logan is pretty damn short in the comics.@@kahuemberson4858
Really enjoyed the ending. Excellent performance by Efron, and everyone playing the family. I found Harley Race to be very well done. Ric Flair was underwhelming IMO.
Watched this with my boyfriend and although it was depressing, I enjoyed it. Him, not so much.. we didn't really care for Ric Flair's portrayal either 😅 but overall, it was a great movie. Would definitely watch it again!
I don’t think that many actors could play Ric Flair in his mid-30s as well as Aaron Dean Eisenberg did in The Iron Claw. Ric Flair is a very unique individual. He definitely liked to go out for drinks after his matches, as depicted in the movie. I think that Eisenberg played Ric Flair better than virtually any other actor could have.
I took my sisters for my birthday to see this and I didn’t tell them I all ready saw it because I wanted to watch there reaction and they told me I could never choose another movie because they didn’t know what happens they told me they loved the first part of the movie
Lmao, that sunset flip tho. Nobody has ever hit it like a power bomb like that, that only comes after many, many takes, it never looks that smooth in the ring
This was the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This was the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This was the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, Tommy Rich, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds. Rest in Peace Texas Tornado. The Iron Claw film shows the hardships and tragedies of the Von Erich family. The film needed two more music montages in the first 45 minutes of the movie since the story dragged at the beginning, but it then picked up for the rest of the film. The only acting weak link in the film came from the actor who portrayed Ric Flair who was atrocious in the role. This is during the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. Kerry von Erich waa 6ft 2 270lbs. This guy is 5ft 7 160lbs, is this the best they could do? They were better off having Chris Von Erich in the film as he was 5ft 5 and this guy should have played him
***GOTTA SAY THIS.. MIKE WAS ALWAYS DUMPED ON. THIS MOVIE MADE MIKE. IT RESURRECTED HIM IN SO MANY PEOPLE. YOU FELT FOR WHO HE WAS. ITS A FOOD THING.***
Little actors for real life big wrestlers...This should have been a factor when making this movie because Chris..the smallest Von Erich was just a couple inches shorter than these actors while Kerry and Kevin were 6'2" contributing to his (Chris) suicide aside from the injuries. Funny how people talk like they actually KNEW the wrestlers personalities like they were neighbors. We went to many shows and all WE knew was their ring personality and whatever interviews they gave. End of day, the movie lacked alot of detail and specifics and if they DID add Chris, they would have had to get larger actors because one of Chris's depression issues was the fact that he did not have the physical build as his bigger brothers -lifetime movie.
I thought the same thing but then I saw a interview with Zac saying that after he signed on for the film he was shown a picture of Kerry and he was “ You want me to look like him?!” Kinda unfair for a good actor.
I would rather see good actors who don't fit the physical appearance of their real life characters but can hit the emotional and characters beats than a bunch of of big athletes who look the part but can't act.
What on earth did Efron to to his face??? All plastic and strange. This is not from a fall or an accident. It is elective plastic surgery gone waaaaaaay wrong! Why did he do this to himself.
@@rapinbatches sure, because you lift weights with your face and your lips, and eyebrows and jaw. That’s the work he had done recently. I think most would agree that he was always one of the best looking young male actors. Now he looks like every other plastic face in Hollywood. What a shame he didn’t need to do that.
It’s steroids or some sort of growth hormone. Very common side effect for people who take it. Look at Connor McGregors face in 2021 and now. His jaw looks similar to Efrons.
I'd much rather have a Jeremy Allen White who's smaller but can hit all the emotional beats and nuances of the character than some big oaf who can't act.
I saw the Chavo Guerrero interview and the guy says he was a machine, maybe he’s like Jake Gyllenhaal as far as real dedication goes. The guy has completely gotten away from that High School Musical trash, I’m actually a fan now
Well pal you musta skipped training cause you were not fit for that role at all. You were too short and had no muscle to speak of . Whoever cast you went to the Helen Keller School of casting BTW did you ever see a picture of Kerry ??????
That’s all they did was match the Free birds, and David, they did a terrible job of matching Kerry. Did they even like ok at Kerry, he was tall and built like a Greek Adonis . He was much bigger than Kevin and they had this sort guy who was built like a high school wrestler, but I knew they would not be able to cast Kerry right And where was Chris the youngest brother, he wrestled too, although he was small due to health issues. He wrestled Steve Austin and Percy Pringle with Kevin. The father was cast ok I was very disappointed with this movie RIC Flair was cast ok
With all due respect to the actor playing Kerry Von Erich, physically speaking he was a huge miscast. Kerry would have made him look tiny in real life. Kerry was like 6’2 250.
