Customers dont realize the amount of work it takes to prepare them the quality of crops shown here. Great video and information! As alway appreciate your videos.

Too true. In fact, 95% of the public is unaware of the amount of work it takes to produce even a single vegetable!

Yeah it's normal human behaviour. I'm sure you guys are also unaware how much effort and work is involved in some industry which you're not so familiar with but use its products on a daily basis for example. It sucks but... That's life. Also I would bet the proportion is 80% / 20% as usual.

I've been trying to get my flower garden at the front of my property to work all at once and one at the end of the line won't be able to spin at the same speed as the other's so it's given me a lot of information about the the topic thanks for sharing mate

Good to know irrigation can be process to figure out for others as well. Irrigation has been hard for me for several reasons. One is that my beds are broken up and not really in blocks and have put beds where they fit. I do have a few micro sprinklers for some beds but it is usually too windy and don't get good coverage much of the time or have to move them around for which way the wind is blowing. Like he mentioned in the video how some crops don't need as much compared to others so it's hard just to overhead water everything and I plant as beds open up so hard to group for same water needs. I do do some drip as well but usually only use it for longer season crops were I don't have to move it often. So I still spend so much time hand water many of the beds and would spend hours a day doing that so will need to work on getting more efficient at it. I am currently at an acre doing it by myself.

Maybe it would make sense it divide the garden into two blocks, one for stuff that can be overhead watered, or at least for enough of its life to be meaningful as far as saving labor. The other half for stuff that needs hand watered.

One note about the valves: I bet most of them has a sediment screen at the input. Put one sediment filter at the BEGINNING of the system, and remove them everywhere else. Mine is near teh well tank, inside the house. So I can remove them downstream

I have a small garden so irrigation is easy. I harvest rain water and able to use watering cans. However, since this summer was very hot and dry I did have problems with germination. I am looking for more effective but cheap and easy ways to supply water to plants. Thanks again

How do they have drip and sprinklers in the tunnels? Like how are the main lines set up? Thanks!

I’m interested in starting a few raised beds this spring. I was wondering, it seems to be a large investment in water hoses to do above ground irrigation. Why not use soaker hoses? Wouldn’t that give a more consistent, economical, and water conservative end result?

Drip tape is a lot more economical and versatile for farming. A few raised beds you can use whatever is cheap and easy to get your hands on.

How many wobbler head sprinklers can you put on a line without losing pressure? Which size wobbler head would you recommend for a small orchard?

There are a lot of variables to even begin to answer that question. You can see all of the details in my setup in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-87u5PqP7204.html You can also reach out to Senninger and ask them for advice too. I did that and they were really helpful.

How is the pvc pipe connected to the garden spike? Is it glued on or is the spike threaded and you buy a pvc threaded adapter that screws in?
@JoshSattinFarming
@JoshSattinFarming 4 года назад
I would guess there is a fitting on the end of the pvc that screws into that spiked lawn sprinkler part.

Nice video - I’m guilty of overthinking this. I set up a complicated micro system and ended up just using a couple of wobblers on my small veggie garden. The flower beds will be another system, but I’ll be tempted to just go with wobblers again! Apparently wobblers are like rainfall - is this true?
@JoshSattinFarming

The wobblers have a very nice and soft distribution of water.
