For the curious, here's the unused monsters featured. 0:26 - Deutalios from the original draft for "Godzilla vs. Biollante". Godzilla's remark about devouring Deutalios is a reference to a scene in that draft where Godzilla would've killed and eaten Deutalios. 2:30 - The giant archaeopteryx from "Bride of Godzilla", a cancelled 1956 film that would've been a sequel to "Godzilla Raids Again". 1956 was also the year "Rodan" came out and some of Rodan's early concept art showed him looking more like an archaeopteryx than the giant pteranodon he became. 3:18 - Ghost Godzilla from "Godzilla vs. Godzilla", which was intended to be the last Japanese Godzilla film of the 1990s and ended up being reworked into "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah". 3:20 - The Queen Bitch (which is what she is actually called) is from a cancelled sequel to the 1998 American film. 4:19 - Deathla, a monster designed for an unmade 3D Godzilla film that was in production during the 2000s. There is no concept art for Deathla, so this was the animator's interpretation of Yoshimitsu Banno's description of it. 4:24 - The Gryphon, a monster created for the unmade American Godzilla film from the mid-1990s. 4:29 - Hafun (the little red monster) and Erabus (the big white monster) from "Godzilla vs. Redmoon", an unmade Godzilla film being developed in the early 1970s. 4:34 - Yes, there were seriously plans for a "Batman vs. Godzilla" in the mid-1960s, around the same time that the Batman TV show with Adam West began airing. 5:00 - The dead monster seen in the teaser trailer for the 2014 American Godzilla film. 6:05 - "Volcano Monsters" refers to "The Volcano Monsters", an unmade American film from the mid-1950s that would've used the Godzilla and Anguirus suits from "Godzilla Raids Again". 8:00 - Believe it or not, one of special effects designer Eiji Tsuburaya's original concepts for Godzilla was a giant octopus. It didn't happen in that movie, but a giant octopus would make its way into "King Kong vs. Godzilla". 9:04 - "Robot Daughter" from "Bride of Godzilla". She is not actually called "Robo-Waifu", but her description of how and why she is does come from the plot of "Bride of Godzilla". The foreplay of brutality she mentions is from a line in the film's draft: "It is the foreplay of love to be beaten." 12:19 - Bagan, the monster who was in way too many things that ultimately didn't have him in. 13:28 - Zilla from the 1998 American film. And the ghost that possesses Rodan as they leave is the ghost of Yoshimitsu Banno.
@@alexisislas-gonzalez5991 I actually like Shin Godzilla some people don't like shin Godzilla because it's not a full-out Monster Brawl. Shin Godzilla goes back to Godzilla's roots which I love
I'm happy Zilla got a scene in here, even if it was only a smidge of dialogue, its nice to see this underappreciated version of Godzilla (especially since the animated series was AWESOME) get some love :)
@@kaiju-dr5qn Yup, that's where I learned about "Bride of Godzilla". At first I thought Monster Island Buddy might have been pulling our collwective legs with that notion, but after a bit of casual research (Googling), I discovered this REALLY WAS considered! Briefly, it would have involved the discovery of a Pelucidor type "hollow earth" where an entire ecosystem of kaiju thrive, including a third Godzilla, maybe more. In order to stop Godzilla and other monsters like Anguirus a scientist builds a giant robot in the image of his daughter to combat them. Initially, they fight, but when Godzilla can not destroy the robot, he then perceives it worthy as a potential, well, "mate". The story ends with the, uh, "couple" entering the hollow earth environment where the gynoid explodes, at the very least sealing the primordial landscape from the surface world, possibly destroying it totally. It turns out the robot was rigged with a hydrogen bomb for that very purpose. A book released in Japan within the last few years documents the account. I gather it never went beyond an "outline", but it was rejected not for its outlandish concept (which would have included mermaids), but rather because Toho didn't want to do another sequel so close on the heels of "Godzilla Raids Again". Instead, the studio thought it better to "rest" Godzilla for a few years and instead create new monsters. It has been speculated that "Rodan" may have developed from a similar new monster considered for "Bride...". It too was a winged creature, but it was based more upon the Archeopterax rather than the pteranadon. Anyway, for "proof", here are inks to several discussions about this unmade film. cultistofvertigo.blogspot.com/2014/12/unseen-tohoverse-1954-1959-featuring.html www.tohokingdom.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22723 www.deviantart.com/enshohma/journal/Kaiju-Unmade-Bride-of-Godzilla-1956-520272898 www.deviantart.com/dadahyena/art/Bride-Of-Godzilla-758801737
It was from the canclled movie where I scientist made a robot that looked like his ex girlfriend to kill Godzilla , by making Godzilla fall in love with it , and how it would kill Godzilla was the hydrogen bomb shown like here
I'm watching this for a 3rd time, and there's still so many stuff I'm just now noticing, like just before the island blows up and everyone runs away, you can see the batman mask roll away too!!! And all the expressions are blink and you miss it moments!!!!
Did y’all see the dead centipede thing? That was one of the monsters Godzilla 2014 was supposed to fight but was scrapped. You could see him in one of he actual trailers.
@@clipzip The concept trailer from ComiCon. He was never supposed to fight it, they just needed something interesting to show to generate fan interest before the last American Godzilla movie so Edwards did that.
I died when mothra threw the tree and it hit godzilla at the end.... I loved the ending.... *spirit attempts possesing anguirus to say something worthy. Anguirus: They should make godzilla fly more. Spirit: no need....
I just shared this to some large Godzilla and Kaiju groups on social media to spread your hard work around. You seriously deserve the praise and appreciation of the fans, this is truly worthy of the highest compliments. Vrahno, we're not worthy to have a godly animator like yourself giving such niche communities, Bionicle or Godzilla, these excellent fan films.
@@Vrahno This video was amazing, and the animation is just perfect, it's the best animation I've seen and you get better from one video to another, the idea to present the godzilla monsters unmade and I'm awesome and really fun, I love the personality of each monster and I'm impressed that you are created watches models of which we often have only one image where nothing. Your work is great and you deserve a lot more support, keep it up.
Hey it's what we're there for. I like ONE scene in Shin Godzilla, you can probably guess which one it is, the rest of the movie is one of the most frustrating experiences i've ever sat through as a Godzilla fan, I think I hate that move more than the 98 film
@@princeblackelf4265 I'll respect your opinion despite disagreeing with it, considering how Shin was made with effort while '98 was legitimately made by someone who hated Godzilla.
Imagine if he made an Animation with Godzilla and his buddies meets the other Incarnations of Godzilla including the Anime Incarnation and the 2019 one
Remember the line from the dub of G2000 where the newspaper editor screamed "GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST" when he saw the Millenien UFO? We should tweak that as a community and when we see something WTF the expression should be "YOSHIMITSU BANNO'S GHOST!!!!"
I remember when I was in high school I was joking with my friend and I said something like "Yoshimitsu Bannos unresting poltergeist" so seeing something so specific getting included was really icing on the cake.
So I see: .Robot-Daughter .Archaeopteryx Rodan (first draft Rodan) .Deutailos .the Gryphon .Redmoon and his mother . Is that supposed to be Deathla in the back? .Bagan the cutting-floor king .Yoshumitsu Banno's ghost
@@sonofjack6286 Nah. There were around 20. We know all their names. However, we also know that apparently there are other Titans (Daikaiju) left undiscovered in the hollow earth.
@@landrylongacre6391 he's the most famous unused Godzilla monster. He's been planned to appear in several movies but he kept getting scrapped. Maybe someday the big guy will appear in a movie
After four years and only now do I realize that Rodan dumps the Polygon trilogy on the island, Anguirus’ shell flies off when Godzilla stops, and the spirit that posseses Rodan and Zilla is Yoshimitsu Banno. So much love went into this.
Legendary Godzilla by Vrahno: A selfless kaiju under impulsive behaviors but will _concede_ and admit his roughness Classic Godzilla by Vrahno: A complete jerk, selfish and arrogant.
I'd we're being honest here, with a few tweaks or in the right hands, some of these monsters would make for interesting future Godzilla movies, or even maybe trying them as standalone attempts. Provided they had good writers at the helm, I'd like to see them try their hands with that amorphous, black, skull faced creature and maybe even a different take on that 'Godzilla's bride' would make for a pretty fun movie. :)
Had to look up the spirit that posseses rodan and zilla. Apparently it was the creator of godzilla vs hedorah/the smog monster. Makes sense since he was banished from godzilla.
I think bagan should have escaped because he was in a video game because obsidious and crystalak aren’t on the island either and they appeared in godzilla video games
I swear if it’s five minutes, imma fuse (I know Animation is hard, but do me well young Vrano!) EDIT: FUCK THAT WAS AMAZING!!! Can’t wait to see the movie you’re working on!
If only it were truly worldwide... But nope, Minus One sadly still keeps up the old tradition that Godzilla films are limited mostly to Japan and the US, and barely get any international attention elsewhere.
@@Pendejos456 But it's not really global if it's only out in a few countries. No matter how good the critical reception and the profits are, film distributors still don't think that the film is good enough for a worldwide release. So just like all previous Toho Godzilla films, it only got a very, very limited international release in only a few countries. Which means that many fans, including me, can't go watch it.
My sides are officially gone! This was so creative, so unique, and funny. There truly is no other fan work like this, and you should be proud of this. I love your satirical tone combined with your cartoonish humor! Great job!
7:58 I like how you reference the fact that Godzilla was originally intended to be an octopus-like creature. In 1951, three years prior to Godzilla, Tanaka had proposed the idea of a monster film that featured a giant octopus monster, but Toho refused. When Godzilla was being planned in 1954, they was some talk about the monster being a large octopus, but the idea was turned down. Before Akira Watanabe and Teizō Toshimitsu stepped in to design the monster, Kazuyoshi Abe was hired. His designs featured a mammal-like creature with a mushroom-shaped head, his ideas were quickly rejected by Eiji Tsuburaya as he thought they looked 'too mammalian'. Also, nice reference to Bagan, who never got a film made of him.
I saw this and "though wow I really should subscribe to this guy" so I clicked on your channel and immediate saw a Dinobot video now I think "I should definitely subscribe to this guy"
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS BRILLIANT! Godzilla, Rodan and Anguirus have always had the makings of a comic trio, and it's great to finally see that being capitalized on. This is the sort of thing I would have NEVER seen in the Godzilla fandom I grew up with, and it's SO SATISFYING to watch.
@@RedzillaGOTM No. They are not in a sexual relationship, it is symbiosis- something that happens naturally in the animal kingdom between species. Two animals of different species, in nature, can interact in a friendly, mutually beneficial manner yes, but they will not mate. If the point of ligers is brought up, let me just say this. Lions and tigers are closely related species. Moths and lizards are completely different things from one another. Cross-species reproduction between even two closely related species can screw up the genes of the offspring, god forbid how deformed and mutated a Mothra-Godzilla hybrid would be realistically, if it even were to make it out of the egg.
