thx the NV makes me grumpy at times. it's such a joke of a night vision. I can't remember a worse NV in any game I played before. we are speaking of more than 1000 games. not even on the commodore 64 I had a game with such a bad view. it were just a few pixel, but, at least I could see them realistic? such a nonsense. some gecko species can even see colours at night. to think this horrible grayish view is the way animals see at night is ridiculous. also in terms of dark daylight. I was in the woods during storms. with very dark clouds in the sky and yet I could see more than just black around me. yet I could differ a bush from a rock. so, it isn't realistic at all. even more, like you said, it's a game. so, even IF it was realistic, no need to keep it like that in a game. 'cause it would also be realistic if we were forced to sleep a quarter of the day without moving. but we don't. why? 'cause it's boring. a game should be fun. NV during the day and the black screen at night makes it boring. sry, I'm getting grumpy again

Agree with this, it need a balance between real and fun.

it was really tiny. but, they also gain weight pretty fast and are often underestimated, too

face tanked? mate, I tried to get around two times. face tanked at the moment it vomited and the other was away, but, didn't get fast enough out of it again yeah, I saw TheIsleNewsChannel which featured this part of that Dondi stream. he asked why people expect every dino to have a proper NV. well, because I want to enjoy the game and it's beauty and don't like to watch a black screen. that simple. I don't know why he is thinking it would be more tough, more difficult, more scary, more survival like or whatever, if we watch a black screen. the reality is, it isn't more challenging at all. otherwise most of my dinos would die at night. but, they don't. not at all. to survive a night isn't challenging, isn't frightening, isn't intense, it is boring. nothing else but boring

@@da.mombie Yeah, I was just messing with you on the face tank comment lol. But yes I agree, it's boring at night with that nv. I don't know why Dondi won't move from his position on this when all the players (customers) want it. I'm not saying see across the map, but more than what it is now.

@@ScottM436 mission accomplished, you kind of triggered me yeah, I hope he will change his mind after probably 90% of the community dislike it. I really don't get it. NV is a chance to make dinos even more unique. doesn't mean every dino has to have a own version of NV, that would be too much. but, let's say 25% of them have a thermal night vision. 25% see even colours (like some animals do), 25% are blind as a mole but get a kind of sonar. so they can ping the surrounding to see terrain and enemies for a second or so. 25% have a grayish NV (like we have) and within these types you can also vary the brightness and range. if you think more properly, than there are probably even way more options to make them unique. other than animations, those NV types aren't that much work either. it's such a wasted opportunity.

as others told me, they are working on the dark daylight issue. sadly the NV seems to be the way they want it to ^^ yeah many people told me that I use the charge too much, but, I can't play cera that often and LOVE the sound of this bite. so, I try to hear it as much as possible in my few fights

@@da.mombie So fair! I don't use it in fights, but I do like using it for fun haha I also tend to use it instead of our 3 call since the chuffing isn't exactly intimidating

@@da.mombie ye, vs two its tough 😁 But it helps a lot with slower turning dinos (when Cera launched I tried some sub Stego. Since I charged bit him, I was dead in some seconds 🤣)

@@justipudi honestly, I would have preferred to fight that stego a lot. 'cause you can control the speed of the fight. vs the carnos I had to react only and I have such a bad reaction time meanwhile ^^

it's nice that they are looking now, but, this is something you should see while you implement the weather system yeah, I heard Dondi talking in one of his recent streams. something like, why do people expect every dino to have a good night vision. it's about surviving the night and nonsense like that. well, the reason why I expect a good night vision, is because I want to have fun while I play. enjoy the game and it's beauty instead of watching a black screen for 10 minutes within every 40 minutes ^^ that's why I expect every dino to have a proper NV. in terms of survival there is NO difference at all. my dinos aren't dying more often during the night because it is so challenging. not at all. 'cause it isn't challenging. it isn't difficult, it's boring, just boring. sry mate, has nothing to do with you. I am just angry about that joke which they call the final version of night vision ^^

no most of us find it annoying, they created this beautiful map and we are either too far out of stamina to dark or to blind in the fog to enjoy it, they need to find the balance between realism and being a fun enjoyable for this visually stunning game.@@da.mombie

the whole lighting is bad right now. even during the day we need NV most of the time and the NV of cera, stego and like you said ptera makes the nights nothing but boring to play ^^

most of the time they listen. in general I think they do a good job. dondi seems to love darkness tho, he is fixated on darkness=scary=hardcore survival. which is nonsense in my opinion. but, people have different opinions and after all it is his project. anyway, in the end they will listen. I am pretty sure about it. nobody seems to like the darkness and even dondi will agree at some point

well, I knew they were two carnos. I was hoping one wouldn't have returned after the restart, but, was quite sure they are two. vs carnos you can't control the fight. I wanted some action for the ending. best case 2-3 minutes or even more. vs a stego I can dictate the speed. I can go in and out or even bait swings for some minutes only, to get it's stam down and so on. vs carno it was like, PAMPAM dead, which I kind of predicted when I thought about those options dondi is dondi and I can't follow most of his thoughts anyway. like you said, cera is quite fine beside the NV. of course you can always improve every dino, but, the only real issue is the NV. so, to see other problems more up the list, just shows how different his thoughts are compared to probably most parts of the community. the way he said "why do people expect every dino to have a good night vision" also says a lot about his way of thinking. somehow he seems to think dark nights make it more difficult to survive. make it more scary or whatever. in reality tho, most of my dinos don't die at night. dark nights aren't challenging at all, they are just boring. why do I expect every dino to have a proper night vision? 'cause I want to play the game and enjoy it's beauty instead of being bored of a black screen. that simple. in general, the whole night vision is nothing but disappointing. it's ugly, it's cheap, it lacks of creativity, it is far from realistic and it promotes the most boring gameplay. sitting in a bush or on a tree. what in fact many do at night now. I expected different NV for different dinos will be like thermal NV for some, colorful NV for others, even a very dark with senses instead of sight was in my mind. jeez, there are so many options to make NV really fun, really spooky, really different and most of all, really useful. it's his game and he can do whatever he wants. from my point of view tho, it's a wasted opportunity to make the game even better

I don't like the whole night vision. it's ugly, it's boring, it's unusable and it makes many people sit in bushes or trees at night. so, it's also bad for the gameplay as a whole. to me NV is nothing but disappointing.

it's a mix of human and zombie. human in german is called mensch. so, the m stands for mensch (human). many many years ago I often played games half of the night. once I had a week where I only slept about 2 hours for a couple of days in a row. at one point I was going to work and one of my colleagues said to me, dude, you look like a zombie. in the evening I was playing with my friends again and told them the story. we joked about it and somehow mombie was born.

it wasn't the most experienced teno player, for sure. but, this game isn't competitive anyway, so

well, I am still hoping the community will change dondi's mind about the NV. he seems to like it. personally I hate it and many others seem to hate it, too. that's why I asked if anyone enjoys this. well, nobody showed up and told me it's a good NV so far. everyone seems to dislike it

understandable from your point of view. specially if the game doesn't run as properly anymore. personally I think gateway is better on the long run. the actual problem is the way people are spread out. but, we had this problem on spiro, too. very often I was walking for hours without seeing anyone. specially if I was in the east, north and west. but, even at the swamp you often couldn't find anyone. the northeast plains are pretty much what the northwest waterfall was at the end of spiro. or the south pond in update 3 or the lake in update 4. that's a player issue in my opinion. I was hoping the migration will force those players to spread out, but, they just don't care and/or the migration system doesn't work properly by now. honestly, I don't think we'll get rid of this problem until we get sandbox servers for all the PVP mates. they are the ones who go for hotspots only and that's why the gameplay around these areas (pond, lake, northwest..) is mostly more weird than dino like. with killer herbs and so on. well, in terms of liveliness I am hoping for AI. 100 players will never bring enough life to huge maps like gateway and spiro. herra is also the first popular dino of the small ones and mostly in trees. so yeah, cera is more visible and made us feel like there are more players/life around when it's got released. but, so will dibble soon. in general I don't worry about the map tho. at the end we will have many different maps to choose from anyway. bigger, smaller and even mod maps
