we started on the officials as always. but, the recent ping issues are getting out of control. later we switched to Poutine Italienne's server and had a stable ping all the time. it's such a shame that officials can't offer a stable ping, meanwhile private servers can.
the server is called "Petits Pieds" and available in the community server list

What’s an alt bite??

@@averageconsumer3212 jeez, that got complicated to explain meanwhile. before the last update (which is important), it was like this. you have the normal attack like left mouse (LMB) and right mouse (RMB). then you have the alt attack. you have to hold alt and push LMB then. teno had/has a bite (LMB), kick (RMB), claws (alt+LMB) and tail slam (alt+RMB). not every dino had/has that many attack options, but every dino has the alt attack. if you look back with a carno and push LMB only, then it won't turn. it will bite in the direction it is standing. if you press alt+LMB then it turns with the bite in whatever direction your cam is looking to. since the last update tho, they made alt by default. so, if you look back with carno and press LMB only, then it turns, 'cause the game always uses alt now. you can deactivate that in the settings. which I did. that's why I bit "normally" there. which I prefer in general. but, in that specific moment, it would have been better with alt.

2:45 salt only cures vomit sickness, as far as I'm aware. Fact: The baby stego was attacking you, because no one expects mercy in The Isle, so if it dies, it will at least attack you for a little bit of fun.

The reason I haven't touch Isle for little while is exactly the ping issues. I have been enjoying Prior Extinction and Path of Titans, althought Path does have some latency problems as well but not nearly the same horrific level as TI. I have been considering private servers as well but tbh they aren't as populated as officials. NA servers are surprisingly less laggy for me than EU ones which is ironic lmao. Good video as always!

I recently started playing on Petits Pieds server and had an interaction with the mods after someone broke the rules and i could report them for doing so. They recommended me to always have the recording on so you can provide them with player ID's if someone breaks the rules. You do this by hitting the F2 key when you log in. You find the footage in the main menu of the game. This helps them find Rule Breakers quicker and they can penalize them if you provide a clip through this data. The recording stops automatically when you log off. Just my two cents!

thx mate ♥ yeah, I know this system from Legacy. it provides you with names and is in fact the only reliable tool to make sure you got the right person. however, I didn't use it since it was introduced to evrima. I have some troubles with me recordings since I switched to 4k and have to figure them out first :/

thx, I know. that's why I mentioned the body fracture in the video. during that moment I didn't notice that I got a fracture tho and was wondering why I lost all my stam. anyway, they changed it quite a lot, 'cause in update 6 it didn't cost as much stam. even with body fracture and specially not as juvie carno.

From what I understand the ping issues have to do with the host The Isle is using. That's why the ping is terrible on officials but much more stable on community servers, since the vast majority are using different hosts. Sadly it's not an issue the game developers can directly fix, it's on the hosts end. Still sucks though, and it leaves people who like to play on officials high and dry.

thx for that info ♥ still, they can fix it by getting another host. there are many hosts. this ping issue exists since update 4 at least. sometimes more, sometimes less, but still an ongoing issue. why are they still with that host? specially 'cause there are many quality hosts out there.

@@da.mombie Most Omni Packs in Petit pieds are extraordinary, mate. I dunno, i feel like that was the case. I mean, i occasionally join the same pack, the pack always manage to wear anything out in the fight, even solo cera. Its crazy, i wonder how long they've been harassing the cera 😂😂😂 i join late at fight, so kinda ask question to them how long they've been attacking the now dead cera, they said more than one hour, dayuuum.... Talking about the patience and determination. They know what They're doing and really really patience. Better than most average omnis we found on officials. And mostly because they got better ping in Petit, most official omnis dies attacking carno mostly because they messed up their pounce landing due to high ping 😂

@@temujinchannel8584 yeah, in Legacy the better players were mostly on community servers, too. on such servers you also meet the same mates over and over. so, you get more used to each other or even become friends with them and play on discord together. which helps a lot compared to the mostly random groups on officials

@@temujinchannel8584 I know excatly what you mean. everything was new and exciting. every noise was strange and frightening. yeah, I also miss those days. but, there are also many things I don't miss. like no collision, tailriding, the many freaking logs to get stuck on in the forests. even trees you kind of stuck for no reason. it's much better the way you slide pass them in evrima. prey which you couldn't eat even in the most shallow river and walking for an hour from the great falls to the twins without crossing anyone on the way :/

I don't know why the devs won't pay for some good servers. Their servers are causing most of the problems and then they'll say things like "Well, it depends on your PC". That is a lie because I have a really good computer and my friend just built a $4000 PC a few months ago and put the best of everything in it and it happens to us both. Community servers run just fine with more than a hundred people and people are paying out of pocket for them. Anyway, another great video.

that is such a shame. to be fair, many problems (like low FPS) are down to a bad PC. which many people have. you can't expect a game like that running on a GTX970 and still many do and complain then. BUT, these server issues are just a bad server management. whatever these are their servers or a really bad host. both is ridiculous. like you said, many private server run on portals like g-portal and they don't have those problems at all. so, we can expect the officials to be AT LEAST on the level of those rent a server portals ^^

Me and my friends quit playing because the ping has been bad on NA servers. The problem is that if fluctuates to much which causes issues. I'll be at 40fps then 100 then 180 back to 45.

thx mate ♥ I don't know, it went aggro from start on. bit at me (even if it missed) and wanted to show the tough guy. so, I didn't like it much from start on. after I bit it twice I stepped back to give it a chance to 4call or 2call or whatever. but, it didn't. I don't like aggro players. if you 2call me or give me any other sign of nice gameplay, then I will have mercy. if you are aggro, then I will kill you with a smile on my face. even if you are a babu

I hated the officials back then. nowadays tho, I prefer no rule servers. on rule servers it is like, oh, there is a body, I'm safe here as long as it isn't gone. or like, oh, a stego, no problem. I am a herb and it isn't allowed to attack me. on a no rule server you never know what happens next

Glad you switched to petits pieds. I have no clue how you've been playing on officials with the crazy ping 😓 I've played on petits a couple of times, but unfortunately it's pretty empty when I play. Seems like most of the userbase is EU, which makes sense. It's a little crazy you could facetank that pachy, it seemed so much heavier than you. but maybe it was only doing bite attack and not headbutts?

yeah, sadly petits is not very busy beside the evening (european time). but, people told me that NA server are way more stable then the EU officials. unfortunately I have a bad ping to the NA server, but, you should have a good ping there, haven't you? honestly, I was pretty surprised, too. I didn't expect to survive vs the pachy. on the other hand, me carno had about 600 kg. so, slightly more than a pachy. the two charge attacks could have cost about a third of it's health and pachy doesn't do that much damage. I guess, me biteforce was already higher than it's alt attack. can't say for sure tho :/

@@da.mombie Its so difficult to get on official servers and they can be so unstable (even if not as bad as EU) that I rarely try. Typically I just play on Islander because its easier to get in and has a higher player count, which I really enjoy! Thats so strange you weighed more than the pachy ... they're so thick they definitely look heavier. But its not too surprising, its hard to get it perfect. Poor pachy got nerfed so hard, but I'm sure it'll get more balanced next update.

can someone explain to me the point of eating specific organ in a carcass?

there are three types of organs. the lungs give you carb (three dots diet), the heart gives protein (S diet) and the intestines give you lipids (two lines diet). to get them you have to bite a couple of times on the body until it is open. or you pick up some pieces of meat first. only playable creatures give you organs. so, no AI like boar or deer. the organs of each dino will give you diet, no matter if the dino itself is on your diet or not.

@@lildemarne9410 yes. even better, if you find a body that doesn't show you any diet ('cause that dino isn't on your diet), then you still get diet from the organs. but, like I said, only playable dinos give organs. no AI like compy, boar and so on. the only organs you should NOT eat are of your own species. other than you are a cannibal per default like deino or cera.

I barely met hackers in this game anyway, but, it's for sure another good point on community servers. much more I like the low rules and the stable ping. more than 100 players are also nice and we will see how the playerbase will turn out to be Poutine Italienne seems to be a nice mate at least

Petit Pieds is a really really good server! I think you'll have more fun gameplay there just cuz of the things like population control and such increasing diversity and the social score encouraging good behavior, it's a little intimidating for me because I'm still a novice at the game and a lot of bigshot omni, deino and carno players are regulars there!

it's a nice server for sure. my problem is, I need many of them. I play a different dino for each video and don't want to kill every dino after each session. so, I probably have to play on officials as well, but, right now they are just a mess. I like the less rules of Petit Pieds and Poutine Italienne seems to be a very nice mate, too bigshot players? will get interesting

@da.mombie Right, you play lots of different dinos. That's why I recommend Islander because he has the store ability for adult dinos. Rulebeakers do happen, but if you're used to official and its toxic players, then islander is pretty nice. But, i hate it sometimes because the server messes up, causing your dinos to get deleted. But, its not awful all the time, its really the only server I use because of the people there, its a lot better than officials. Give it a shot!!

@@nunyabeeswax1780 thx for the info ♥ didn't know you can store dinos there. yeah, that would be very useful. but, as much as I like Islander's PoT server, as much I don't like the rules for his the isle server. way too many. I loved such rule servers in Legacy. in fact I played only on such. but, somehow I prefer no rules meanwhile. this might change again in the future, but, by now I like as less rules as possible.

I used alt quite often. but, something felt weird. it often didn't work. do you know if they changed something? doesn't it work when you are moving anymore? 'cause you can even see that I often bit while I was watching back, but, it didn't turn ^^

@@da.mombie Its because you cant alt bite when youre running. And carno has weird acceleration, which makes you normal bite even if youre not holding shift and still slowing down.

I thought I might be just too stupid (like pushing alt too late). but nope, that explains a lot. in general I don't like carnos new acceleration and also the way it slows down by the slightest mouse movement. it feels so weird to play :/

you need to stop sprinting around aimlessly in fights, wasting stam and making yourself bleed to death. need to stand/walk and alt bite against small enemys

it's ridiculous. these ping issues are around for quite some time now. sometimes more, sometimes less, still ongoing for way too long meanwhile :/

I try to kill stegos every now and then. but, like I said in the other comment. killing babus bores me :/ I prefer to fight bigger opponents or at least those who have a chance to strike back or escape.
