this truly truly one of my favorties of the isley brother and jasper if you don't get where this song saying you are not right in your mind and soul this what all should have love in hearts and souls this bring back so happy memories.
Isley Brothers 3 + 3 album full of absolute classic tracks! I think Chris Jasper was related. Can I just say RIP to ABDUL FAKIR the last member of the FOUR TOPS who passed today...4 Tops reunited in Heaven . X
We knew what we had and I was born in 1980. It was Never to us a concept of "That's Old Music" as disrespect, we just listened to what our parent did. 😊😊 Timeless Music
Ashley, the Isley Brothers originally consisted of three brothers in the 50s & 60s. Then in the 70s they added two younger brothers plus a younger "brother-in-law" (Chris Jasper- keyboards, primary co-songwriter), so the younger 3 makes six Isley Brothers at their peak. At some point in the 80s (I think), the three younger formed their own group: ("Isley, Jasper, Isley") with muttonchops Chris Jasper on lead vocals. However, the main "iconic" lead vocalist for The Isley Brothers is the incomparable (Ronald Isley) of the older brothers. 👌🏾
The Isley Family morphing in the eighties with new family band members and band combinations produces one of the best R&B songs ever written. Just masterful. Mid 80s R&B -- Sweet, sugary, melodic, your carried away in a trance, a dream. I played the grooves off that record.
THIS IS NOT THE ISLEY BROTHERS. Isley-Jasper-Isley was a splinter group of the Isley Brothers formed in 1984 by brother-in-law Chris Jasper (keyboards), Ernie Isley (lead guitar), and Marvin Isley (bass), due to creative differences that arose among the group. This song was released in 1985. After breaking away from the family group, the group (notably Chris Jasper) wrote and produced this single, which was Jasper's interpolation intending to reach audiences by presenting Christian beliefs in his music.
Ashley, you HAVE to check out the video to this song and the message will become clearer. The video will make you catch the feels. It is a beautiful song with a wonderful sentiment and is much NEEDED right now. Please, watch the video!
My Dad loved this record.. it may have been the first time I ever heard him sing along .. bless his heart he kept his day job even though in high school he look like the Lost member of The temptations... but just about everybody did... we're from Detroit I think it was a requirement LOL
Tune hits deep as today we have so many families abandoning the grace that has been given….damn , something like 75 % of kids born out of wedlock ! A lot of the babies have a rough go….man, if this isn’t a bible verse I don’t know What is
Beautiful song. The reason why it's called Isley Jasper Isley. It's because two of them are brothers which are the Isley Brothers from the group. Jasper is married to their sister so the whole Isley Brothers did not sing on this song. Only the three did. So his name is Chris Jasper and he was married to one of their sisters. I don't know how many sisters they had but I know he was married to their sister. No, I'm not sure but I believe that's Chris Jasper singing the lead on this song. There is a video to it if you want to check it out
Love it! ❤😎Great reaction Ashley! What a deep meaning this song 🎵 conveys! We need more of The Caravan of Love! Yes! Great 👍🏽 request! 😎😎😎😎❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Yes we had it back then, but it is more magnified now! We appreciate it even more when we see what is out there now! NO COMPARISON!
Yes they did know smooth in the 70s, it wasn’t called R&B songs. It was called SOUL MUSIC and your a researcher, all those groups Isleys, E.W. And 🔥 etc. Funky and Smooth as Hell.
I think you get the distinction but to those who don't. Isley Jasper Isley is a separate group from the Isley Brothers. From the same family but different group and sound.
This Isley-Jasper-Isley, not the Isley Brothers. Every song they recorded was pure magic! Insatiable Woman, Serve You Right, Givin' You Back The Love... All Amazing!!!
There are six original members of The Isley Brothers later including a cousin(Jasper). the group changed during the years but the main three brothers remained.
WHERE IS THE VIDEO! You miss out on seeing like the song says people of every race joining together. Chris Jasper who did a lot of the Isley bros music arrangements is singing lead.
Just as "People Get Ready" by The Impressions was a plea for people to put aside their earthly concerns and prepare for the Christian afterlife, this is a modern day plea for people to put aside their earthly disagreements and join together to make a better world for the living. One of my favorite songs from that period.
Ernie marvin a d chris temporarily departed from the older isleys around that time they lost older brother O'Kelly past away then later brother Rudolph went to the ministry brother marvin past now only ron and ernie still perform til this day
Not to be a know-it-all but this song is not credited to the Isley Brothers (anything that doesn't feature Ron Isley singing can't be a true IB song). This is Isley-Jasper-Isley, still a great song!
We knew we had great music, but looking back you are right. I don't think we truly appreciated what we had, until we started hearing the stuff that's being released today. I hear a few songs here and there that I like, but most music today has no soul, no depth, no originality or musicality. Sorry to say.
