Hi, i was just thinking that. Very sexy too! I saw the Isley bros. at the jazz fest in New Orleans some years ago. I always go early so I can get up to the barricade. I can get rained on and sunburned in the same day. I wonder if the Isley bros. Family have old videos of Ernie and Jimi playing guitar together. Take care!

My mother used to say Ernie Isley was the best guitarist ever. She said everybody copied his style and he didn't get recognized enough for his talent. When we were younger, she would play this album on Saturdays and it was time to get up and clean the house...lol.. it was 6 kids, music blasting in through the speakers and we would be dancing and cleaning. That's back when you could let the whole album play, no skipping to the #1 hit..the whole album was a hit!! The best years of my childhood. This influenced my taste in music and made me appreciate the artistry

@danahoward759 I like your story about the childhood appreciation and influence of "Whole Hit Albums" by the Isleys and I'm sure others! The Isleys had many! Believe it or not my very first influence and appreciation came of the love of Nat King Cole's voice at about 4 yrs old! Would sit in front of an old black & white TV watching and listening to his weekly show! And get this, I'm almost 70 & as pale one can get! 50's-90's music, most genres included, best music in history!

Always felt that was absolutely the best guitar work ever on an R&B record. TBH, it could easily be considered a rock song as well. The Isley Brothers were a phenomenal group. Miss the “good old days”.

About 22 yrs. ago I went to see them live, and they didn't disappoint! I was literally one of about 5 white people in the entire auditorium and had a blast all by myself! White people don't appreciate R&B enough; it's the best music everrr!

SuPete. White folks appreciated all the 70s music big time. And the 60s music which started the genre of soul music as an entity that the record companies used to exploit all the black artists. The regular white folks loved all music in the 60s. All music. There was no division.

It looked like Ernie Isley was doing a little Jimi Hendrix there plucking the guitar strings with his teeth. But by 1973 Jimi had already been gone for 3 years. And I ran into Ron Isley last year (2022) at LAX. He's in a wheel chair now but still exhibits that gold chain style that we used to see on stage. And just listening to this music makes me feel like a kid again. I'm so glad we have the technology to go back and see this whenever we want.
