I’m 24 but was raised on this type of music and I’m just gonna say we will never ever, get this type of cohesion , harmony , and rhythm within a group ever. This was a special time in music and you can see the MJ starting to bubble out of Michael because he couldn’t contain it, that supernatural talent was within him. The Press and curl Jacksons weren’t appreciated enough.
@@dewaynebell2705 oh I forgot about the temptations! , I spent a lot of time with the elders in my family growing up , so I grew up listening to a lot of old school music and one of my favorite childhood movies is the temptations ,so I know all the dance moves lol! The temptations and Jackson’s American dream are the best biographical movies in my opinion. If people don’t know how great these groups are, then I’d highly suggest to start with these two movies to start off.
Lucy had excellent taste! She knew talent and hard work when she saw it. I love that she stayed to watch them perform! Michael, Lucy, and Johnny. Absolute legends!
This world is cruel this world is wicked this world is deceitful filled with all kinds of Temptations. but….. Deep in each of our hearts we do know, how to escape from evil and their lies, by COMING TO CHRIST: REPENT AND BORN AGAIN. in return getting: peace protection guidance comfort wisdom and understanding about heavenly things.
Michael’s voice change was almost complete by this point. He almost sounds like his “Jacksons” era here. On another note, “Whatever, you Got I want” was meant for a Michael Jackson solo LP that didn’t work out so they added it to the Jackson 5 LP, “Dancing Machine”.
@@DavidSmith-cx9cuI was thinking so as well You're Good For Me. May have been consideration and Make Tonight All Mine screams Farewell My Summer Love solo album tunes
when Lucy decided to stay even when she had to be somewhere else...to see the J 5 perform,! That tells you the impact this group had on all ages and professions/ J5 was preforming in VEGAS! and at the time they had a TV variety show! too!
Are you kidding me i did not know that the Jackson 5 performed Whatever You Got I Want live or together. I’ve only seen the Soul Train performance of MJ solo performing. Holy ish man they killed it
1975-1978 were the J-5/Jacksons lost years of sorts. They had "Dancing Machine" as a hit a few months earlier than this. But for the next years no real big hits until the "Destiny" album when they were able to do the kind of music they reallly wanted to do.
I love the fact that by this time they weren’t faking their ages anymore. Plus at the time of this comment this video has been up 2 months. HOW COME NO ONE TOLD ME SOONER??!!
@@Liltopda2254 number one singles in a row beating only the Beatles?? Is definitely superstardom lol. They were superstars from the gate. J5 superstardom and MJ superstardom is two diff things lol, 83/84 was ALL AND ONLY ABOUT MJ 😂
@@Mr88karats yes possibly but back then they weren’t superstars and yes they had 4 hits back to back but tht was from 3 separate albums and that’s how much they sold In total during Motown hay day …Hence MJ has more hits on albums like thriller and bad having more that 5 #1 hits now that’s a super star. When you sell out of arenas of over 70,000-100,000 people that’s superstar. But yes they were stars in the beginning
At 6:02 when Johnny asked if they are friends with The Osmonds, Michael stares 😑 at Johnny for a few seconds as if he were thinking, how dare you Fkin ask us about The Osmonds. That's probably why he made a joke about them right after the question. "I just hope they didn't steal anything." 😄 If Kendrick Lamars song existed back then Michael would have said “They not like us.” 😆😆
Whatever you got I want sounds much better live! However I think that was the worse possible song to follow up dancing machine as a single. She's a rythmn child would have been a hit. Life of the party and mirrors of mind would have been great choices as well
I don watched this about 3 times which clearly isnt enough.😂😂😂😂 Need to see it 100 more times. Just the fact Lucy waited to see them. She was huge back then as they were. Loved her show as a little girl and her shows were like a generation ahead of me. The Jacksons were something special.❤❤❤❤ I saw Mike in my 20s during the Bad era. Danced the entire concert but i was little when he was with his brothers. Just incredible.❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Geez. Working 9 months out of the year. I hope they had that schedule during this period. That’s a grueling for a bunch of kids if they did that during their ‘70-‘72 era. One month off is nothing. They need like 3 months off from touring, recording, tv appearances, photo sessions, personal appearances etc.
The Jacksons Live and great performance. R.I.P. Michael & Tito! Marlon & Jackie continue to perform. Jermaine will not join them for whatever reason, and even though the group still lacks a strong "lead singer" (without the King of Pop) they continue their legacy. Very talented family!
The Jackson 5 is one of the greatest groups of all time and their performance on this show was great but the first song SUCKS!!! The 2nd song was more of their style but it kinda well...no good either...still they were a great group
