Some people are seriously complaining about the backup singer?? Do y’all know that not all harmonies arent gonna sound like church choirs? The harmony actually works perfectly considering the song is about a dead friend and the backup singer sounds almost ghostly or spirit-like, so it actually helps the song out…
I saw you in a dream You had stayed the same You were beckoning me Said that I had changed Tried to keep my eyes closed I want you so bad Then I awoke and it was so sad Haven't talked to you in months And I thought that I might cry But I'm not that kind of girl I saw you in a dream You came to me You were the sweetest apparition, such a pretty vision There was no reason, no explanation The perfect hallucination All good things come to an end But I thought that this might last But you came alive so fast And when I'm awake I can't switch off It isn't the same but it is enough (It isn't the same but it is enough) I saw you in a dream Then it came to an end I wonder if you'll come and visit me again You're taking your time to reappear I'm starting to believe that when I call your name You just don't hear me anymore And I know that I shouldn't even try It's a waste of time And when I'm awake I can't switch off It isn't the same but it is enough (It isn't the same but it is enough) And when I'm awake I can't switch off It isn't the same but it is enough It isn't the same but it is enough
The background singer really took away from the talent. I get how it wanted to be executed by achieving that haunting vibe from the album. It missed its mark completely. Other than that I’m still in love with this song!
I don’t think the background singer was bad. It’s possible that they weren’t listening to each other. And that’s a problem but other than her this performance was really good
While he does have pedals, from listening, to me, it just sounds like a nice p bass into a nice amplifier. If he were using a pedal I woul guess it would be a compressor or a pre amp/mild overdrive cos I can't hear any obvious effects like fuzz, octave, modulation, distortion, reverb etc. Hope that helps!
i love the japanese house, but this performance was weird. someone was pitchy during the harmony and i wish the drums were true to the studio version. nevertheless, i love this song
Many times dissonance is a choice. It can be one of my favorite things: tight harmonies with a hint of dissonance here and there. I think the reason it doesn't always sound the best here is that both vocalists are very raw. It's unpolished and that seems to be a choice.
