Cal Raleigh, Logan Gilbert and Kelenic are close buds and they all came thru their minor league system together, and they were all at Logan's wedding. I'm almost sure they wont re-sign and extend as they saw what ownership/Dipstick 54 did to their bud. Side note: JK thanked everyone EXCEPT the M's in his Instagram farewell.

Are we talking about the same Jarred Kelenic here? Kelenic has had a month and a half of good play in 3 seasons. He is very shaky defensively and his swing and miss issues are a real problem. He is very immature and makes choices that hurt his team. I won't miss him. He may turn into a good player with the Mets, & he does have considerable talent, but he needed to move on. It's is not like other teams were jumping to get him. Addition by subtraction.

First off, I agree with you about his attitude and overall contributions to the team. Second, he went to the Braves. Third, it's not about just unloading him, that's fine. It's the fact that they most likely aren't going to do anything with what would have been his salary to fill the many holes in this team. They're gonna stick our AAA guys out there and say they did thier best.

@@MarineLayerPod Kelenic WAR 2021/-0.5. 2022/-0.1, 2023/1.3'. He is barely a replacement level guy. 304 batters had a better WAR this year than Kelenic (and this was his best ever year)! Worse, he is immature and volatile. Addition by subtraction. If healthy in 2024, expect Suarez (now traded) and Kelenic to combine for near 400 K's. Not workable.

Kelenic was sacrificed to save the $20+ million. Very similar to when they added Diaz in the Cano deal years earlier. To take on the money the Mariners were 'ditching' they HAD to give the Braves something . Easy to understand. Lousy that we are thinking this way.

If they don't go an make this team better an try to win I'll quit watching again. I've done it before when I got upset with them. Right now is the time to go for it, the team is so close to being great. They have the pitching an only need a few bats. If they're not going to go for it I'll drop em. I don't need the pain they'll give me if ownership only cares about money.... I won't give them mine anymore. In 2016 when they bought the M's they were valued at $1.4B. They're now valued at $2.2B, That's over $100M appreciation a year, they aren't losing money no matter what.

Highest point of M's payroll came in 2018 when they finished the season with $171 million spent, which ranked 10th overall. $171 million in 2018 inflates to $205 million in 2023. Today, Shannon Drayer on the Wyman And Bob show (Seattle Sports) says to paraphrase that the M’s are comfortable with Canzone in the outfield, Rojas at 2nd and Urias at 3rd which leaves DH and one and half outfielder need to fill. Shannon says that Scott Servais recognized power offense wasn’t a good fit for T-Mobile field. Shannon goes on to state that the M’s are shifting to finding contact hitters. The M’s rid themselves of the top 3 strikeout hitters in their lineup.

If they needed to add 2 good bats this off season. How many do they need now? Simple math will tell you that they need 5 bats. This ownership is a joke

Franchise is a joke. Sell the team. The team will not even get back to 88 wins. Mariners going to mariner. I am rooting against this team. I won't spend any money to support this team. The teades have made the team worse. They already had huge hole to fill that they have refused to due over the past two seasons. They couldn't hit and now they have even less to hit with. If the owners don't have money then sell. Also who believes they don't have money? They have made a ton of money!!! They have been in the bottom half of salary cap. 54%? Don't worry you won't sniff that ever again. Get rid of the young talent. Give them a chance to play on a team that wants to win. The tangers turned the franchise around in two years. We have been told to be patient and trust the process for double that.

Kelenic not being there doesn’t break my heart as I think he’s had opportunities, just hasn’t figured it out (at least not in Seattle). I think Canzone can develop into a good MLBer. I like Swaggerty but similarly, he’s not productive at the Big League level. They have the pitching and can build around Julio. Just a lot of negativity surrounding this team these days, hard to stay positive (as I am an eternal optimist).

Stanton gave Dipoto and Servais, two WS flops as players, a chance to get to the WS as GM and manager but after going on 9 years now, they turned out to be flops even at that level. So now, from Stanton's point of view... no point in throwing "good money after bad." To add insult to injury, they hire an "ambulance chaser" as GM, again with no WS achievements. They are all a bunch of losers ... time for some other billionaire to buy the M's.
