Well, I finally did it! I got myself a board game table! 😍 I've been dreaming about owning a board game table since I was first introduced to the concept almost five years ago and having the Jasper from Board Game Tables feels like a dream come true! Please ask me any questions you have about the cost, shipping, assembly, or anything else in the comments down below!
*I should note that I did use flat head screws for the paneling under the playmat instead of the rounded screws included in the hardware. A special thanks to Joe from ‪@boardgamesfortwo‬ for the suggestion!*

I'm hoping this will serve as a lifelong table for many, many years of board gaming... at least that's how I pitched it to my wife! 🙈 Really appreciated your initial review and the One Year Later video! Sweet! Hope you enjoy it! I almost went with the Jasper myself, but ended up inheriting an entire frame and topper set from a friend who backed the Wyrmwood modular gaming table. Due to production issues and shipping damage they had everything, except the legs, replaced TWICE. It took a LOT of work to fix the misaligned pieces and build my own legs, but it turned out amazing and unique and I love it.

Wow! That is so cool that you were given enough of a Wyrmwood table to salvage it and turn it into a unique and workable table! I wish you could share a picture on here! I know those Wyrmwood tables are SUPER nice! ☺️ Congrats!

Don't give Wyrmwood any money. Terrible company - just do a quick google search on their scandals, how they treated customers, and even their own workers.

Thank you so much! I love the color too-that dark wood is just such a stark and striking color! And even though the black mat shows all the hair and dust and stuff I think it's such a cool look! ☺️ I'll just stay on top of lint rolling it often! 🤣

@@BoardGameDave I have the blue one, and I still see lots of white fluffs and things. Even after I wipe, handvac and everything. I will have to get a lint roller for it! It just likes all the tiny flecks and specs that float around, even with a brighter color.

I bought the jasper with blue mat and toppers about a month ago. I am very happy with it; we spend a lot of hours playing board games and D&D on it. My group likes the aesthetic of the table and the feel. For the money this was the best option for me. I would like to get an additional map, perhaps the maroon color and the wing table end. I considered the side shelves, but they are impractical for the space i have the game table in. My toppers were not scuffed like others have mentioned. My only con the website lists the cupholders as magnetic, and mine were not, so i kind of feel like that is misleading on their website.

I'm so glad you've been enjoying your Jasper table as well! I love the aesthetic and feel so much, too! I love having people over (especially non-gamers) and getting to show off the table-I think everyone without exception has thought the concept of the removable top was really cool! It's great that you can further upgrade your table as you go like you mentioned! ☺️ There is a newer model (the 3.0, I believe) that has magnetic cup holders but so far I've been fine with the groove system on mine! I like using a door for a table better. When you’re done- you just hang it back up! Saves so much space :) ps. Most people wear their pocketknives on the inside with the clip on the outside :)

Haha, that's a really good point! 🤣 You might change your mind once you've played a game on this table, though-it's such a luxury experience! 😍 Come over and play Stone Age with us sometime! 🛖 (Haha, I just had it clipped there for easy access while I opened the boxes! But good catch!)

I may inquire then...the scuffs are there. Relatively minor, but noticeable. I think you were spot on...leaves came stacked on top of each other, without any intervening felt, paper, or anything to protect the surfaces from rubbing in transit.

Looks great! So nice to have a board game table! I'm still dreaming of the day I can get one, but I know it'll happen eventually! But it doesn't look like you have much room between the ends of the table and the walls. Can you actually fit people and chairs there?

This was definitely a big expense but it's something I've been thinking about (and budgeting toward) for a long time and I figured it was finally time to take the plunge! ☺️ I hope you get one yourself sometime soon, too! You're right about the space-I'll probably end up rotating the table 90º down there eventually! So far we've only had three people around the table at once so it wasn't a problem! ☺️

Mine took 4.5 hrs to assemble. 3.5 hrs bc 80% of the predrilled holes didnt match up correctly, the instructions sucked, and 1hr for a trip to the hardware store bc they gave domed screws for under the table. I shouldve just drilled my own holes. My hands were raw from all the work getting the screws to bite, even though I bought better flathead ones with great bite. One side panel came scuffed too. But my biggest disappointments, which I can possibly see even in your video, is the seams and the topper is too different color for me (less brown, more ashy, more yellow) than the beautiful brown dark walnut table. The topper is just so ashy and lacking the same brown. Mine anyway. Hard to tell in other ppl's videos if theirs is the same. Topper still looks good, but not AS good as the table stain.

For spending $1300 (not including accessories) I expected higher quality. Their QA is horrible.

Oof. I'm so sorry to hear that you had such a terrible experience putting your table together! There were just a few small hiccups/misalignments that I ran into as I put the table together but overall it went pretty smoothly, thank goodness! And I can sort of see what you mean about the color of the topper not exactly matching the table with my own topper but it's not something I would have ever minded, really! They match enough for me and I almost never play a game with the topper on anyway-at least so far! So sorry to hear about the scuffing on your side panel. Thankfully they said they'll replace the scuffed inner topper leaves for me but I'm still waiting for them to arrive! Thank you for your comment, Carter! Honestly, doesn't look worth 1500 dollars. I'm happy with my extendable Ikea table and will buy a playmat in the near future. Only reason I would buy a board game table is to be able store campaign games set up. The cats are cute!

My wife (also Hannah... but with two H's!) agreed that the table doesn't necessarily look like it's worth $1500 at first glance but to me it's the functionality of the table that makes it worth the price! Like you said, being able to store a big campaign game down there is huge! And with two cats it really helps to be able to just throw the leaves on top of a game and not worry about them damaging or losing pieces! I'm glad you have a system that works for you, though! ☺️ I hope you get a nice playmat soon!

My Jasper 3.0 just arrived and it's totally black. Anyone else have color issues? All of the woodwork in my house is brown

Interesting! My table obviously is more of a dark brown but I did notice that the replacement leaves I received are darker than the rest of the table with less of the wood grain texture visible. Maybe that's the direction they're going in with their Dark Walnut stain? Not sure!

$1200 bucks for table and topper and it has seams and scuffs. Hopefully they made that right.

@@BoardGameDaveDid you hear back on the seams? 3 of 4 of mine have horrid seams and I spent an hour trying everything to solve it. Figured maybe when the table 2as finally together it would become flush. Nope. Only 1 is flush, and only after I tries for so long to get it right. The other 3 have bigger gaps than even your seam.
