Trying out a JBL D120F reconed and with 4in metal dust cap like an original smooth cone. This gives a boost in the top end of the speakers frequency response. The speaker is installed in an Ibanez open back 1x12 inspired by a Fender Twin Reverb style cab.
The rig is a GuitarPCB Sabotage pedal pc board with just the Treble Booster section installed with the variable boost control. This feeds a DIY Fender Twin Preamp pedal I designed into a VOX Night Train 15 watt tube amp.
The guitar is an original John Birch J1 with a JB Magnum pickup in the bridge and JB Biflux pickup in the neck positions. Trying for the Black Sabbath Sabbath Bloody Sabbath style guitar tone.
There are two sections to the video. The first guitar trial without an EQ is from 0:30 to 3:12. The second section is 3:13 until the end with boosted mids to sound more like the recording. After EQ normalized to be the same level as the first section.
A Zoom H3-VR binaural recording.
