The Alaska trip should be an easy trip since they will not like to damage this truck before giving it away. So, I sm sure the trip will not involve hardcore things to potentially damage this rig. So, any normal capable 4x4 can do the Alaska trip easy.
@@myytchannel6632 I think the idea was to push it and see what an "Overland" rig, built properly, is capable of. We'll see, as soon as the border is open. With other experience YT Overlanders going along I'm sure there will be plenty of adventure and maybe some wrenching.
im a newbie...love you guys ,just purchased my first Jeep ever ,,A2017 Jeep Wrangler sport unlimited with 17 000 miles on it with a 6 speed manual transmission and its still full stock with no extras on it, will be watching everything you have out to see what stuff i truly want on my new toy .Keep up the amazing work !
I’ve spent a few grand with Northridge4x4 for our JLUR this week. I think I need to stop watching your Jeep videos for a bit. Parts awaiting install when the hubby gets home from deployment include: RK 3.5” Stage 3 Adventure lift kit, ARB onboard air system, LOD front bumper, Smittybuilt 10k winch, LOD rear bumper w/ tire carrier, cargo rack for the tire carrier, Rock lights (because in AZ you go at night to avoid the heat), & a tailgate table. He made me promise to wait till he gets home to install stuff though.... this is torture.
For internet, do what I do when on the road - pull into any roadside Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden inn, etc., and you can access their free wireless from just outside their front door. Hampton Inn will have free warm cookies too in the lobby.
Even know there is long hours of editing videos and having to find good service it's been rewarding. Y'all have done a lot to together and provided us videos. I'm sure we all appreciate the work y'all do. Gladiator looks great and has gave me some ideas on building one. Stay safe and stay healthy we all gonna get thru this hard time.
The joy you expressed about having a home base and still going wheeling is what makes me so happy knowing I'm not the only one that is so exited about the same things lol!!! Or crazy??
Just realized y’all have been in my neck of the woods. I live about 10 minutes from Northridge 4x4. Just a heads up, I tried doing some exploring in the Olympic mountains this past weekend but a lot of the trails have closed signs and I believe Washington and Oregon have orders placed so you can’t go dispersed camping. The Mount Hood and Deschutes National Forests might still allow dispersed camping but that could have changed
Kevin, get with the company that builds those catch cans and get them to build a catch can that has a line that runs back into the valve cover and a oneway valve that doesn't allow the oil to come up into the line, but once the engine is shut off it allows the oil in the catch can to drain back into the valve cover. That way it empties itself and puts the oil back into the engine.
The reason the headrests do not come off is there is a wire going to them that needs to be unplugged and is accessed from removing the back of the seat. it is the whiplash feature that deploys on the headrest (headrest extends forward).
That build is definitely looking fantastic. Everything you're putting on it is great and functional for the great outdoors. We've decided to look into a set of PRP set covers for our Gladiator, they look so awesome on the foster child. Thanks for another great video, stay safe.
In heavy dust conditions, it is better to turn snorkel to the rear as air flow profile over the snorkel produces an area free of dust. Forward facing just sucks in finer dust particles push up by the air.
I really Love❣️ the bed tent and cargo containers. Everything is great from the steps to bumper and lights, snorkel and all. But the bed rack, tent and cases are 🔥 for me.
Hi Kevin and Brittany, At the begining of the video, you mentioned about maybe using both vehicles together, making camp with the Foster-Child, while you go wheeling in the Step-child, so that you could come back and camp was already made up! Would it be possible to make the overlanding part in the back of the Gladiator demountable, so that when you are traveling in only one vehicle, you could demount it, set up camp, then go wheeling (with a lightened vehicle!) and still come back to a ready set up camp? This would be like the overlanders who use trailers, with the roof tent on the trailer, such as "Lifestyle Overland" who use a Turtleback trailer, but achieving the same without a trailer whould be way cooler and more versatile.
Good luck in parting with the Gladiator. I'm sure the winner will love it too. I sure hope that they have watched all the video builds too, to see how much thought and care went into it. And the love!
We appreciate the struggle of being virtually homeless and continuing to create and share content with all of us during these crazy times! Thank you Brittany and Kevin!
I was thinking of buying a Gladiator and making it an overlander for when I go hunting. I am getting a lot of great ideas from your build and like how it is turning out. Keep up the great work.
Its GOT to be rough building this thing up and not take it out to play! Cant wait to see the finished product! I've seriously been looking at these rigs as my first offroad capable rig and you've given me some great ideas!
Like my Jeep my favorite upgrade is always the next one cause it just makes your build that much better. You guys have done such an amazing job on this build and for 20 minutes of entertainment for us you guys are putting in an unbelievable amount of time and effort and my hats off to you guys for what you do. Be safe and cautious!
I've been watching ya'lls channel for a while now and honestly have not subbed because I don't just subscribe to channels like a Bass on a shiny bait. The efforts to which you guys went to upload is dedication. Absolutely love it and subbed! I also don't sub to everything under the sun because my watch list is like 150 channels deep and there isn't that much time in the day lol. RU-vid is better than TV and I thank you guys for giving us something to watch.
Why haven't you installed dual batteries or a large battery yet? With so many performance upgrade and overlanding plans. The need for dual batteries is a must.
Awesome build ! i really like the jt with truckbed cages . Still needs some tube fenders on it. ive got a jeep but i still cant seem to get rid of my old pickup truck just to carry big stuff around. would be a sweet to have a do it all rig
LOVE it. Looks so good :) I really like the power steps. And I've never seen that snorkel design, it's pretty sleek. But the bed rack design takes the cake. Not a huge fan of it aesthetically, but so functional! Also, sounds like a great quarantine plan, no home, a JT base camp and a JL! 😜
What I love most is the Awsome suspension and diff you installed. That by itself makes the Gladiator a far more capable trail rig. Oh ya,, the snorkel is the bomb!
I just ordered the RockSlide Engineering power steps, and I got the RotopaX mounts that are now available!! That would look really sweet on your build!!
Ok guys you have outdone yourselves and created the ultimate build for its' intended purpose. Kevin, in answer to your question, my favorite part is the bed rack with the leveling platform and the ROAM tent. I've been obsessed with ROAM products ever since seeing Brad's review on Trail Recon. I did a search and found the Barricade Tubular Fender Flares w/LED DRL & marker lights, Front JG 1347 through Xtreme Terrain that I like the look of. I also found some more aggressive off road type but their not in production for the Gladiator yet. However, with your industry connections perhaps you're aware of some prototype models that we guys are unaware of. It will be interesting to see what you decide on. The only other (2) things I would add are a Dometic fridge and a Tembo Tusk Skottle grill for a kitchen. But love it as is you guys did a fantastic job. Wish I could go to Alaska with you guys.but got to work until I get my own RU-vid channel. lol!
The gladiator looks so sweet. If you guys are hiding out camping and wheeling I would love to see a video of the gladiator all set up as your base camp. Stay safe out there. Love your videos 👍
Love the JT Gladiator Build. I'm in process of building mine. BUT, my real lift events will take me awhile to do. Love to win this one yall have done great job. The lift,steps/rock sliders are a few of the t Favorites. Look forward to seeing how well lift preform off road. Keep up great work. Be safe out there.😎🇺🇸
The JT is awesome, and not really done yet! I have to give props to both of you (and Jelly) for keeping us entertained and all that goes with your lifestyle. The country is crazy right now and what I really need to say is, You two stay safe and healthly we need each other more than ever..
Can't wait to take my kidlets on an overland trip in this beauty!! Looks awesome!! Love how organized the box is with the roam home!! Great job guys! Stay safe and healthy from BC Canada :)
I can tell you both work hard when you have to. Have you used Fluid Film under your Jeeps yet it keeps the joints lubricated and rust free? Everyone up north need it for rust. I said that a month ago that you crash your jeep and keep this one.
Jelly is cute! Thank you for all the work to do the videos it is appreciated. Please stay safe and healthy. If you see a small cabin when you go in the woods, stay away from it.
Interested in the ARB set up. I can’t seem to find the prior install video for the compressor that you reference. What was the title of that video? Appreciate and keep the great videos coming.
have you ever heard {the simpler the better}, you must have hundreds of things on the truck, that can break or stop working. i have to admit you are doing a great job.
Awesome build ...Dynatrac axles and suspension gotta be top of list...or maybe the air setup...hummm maybe the bed rack and ROAM tent....uhhhh...not sure what is favorite part. Thanks for the work. Great job. Be safe.
Absolutely knocked it out of the park on this build! Completely understand why Kevin wants to keep it! I will still let you guys drive it when you visit TN after I win!
You guys did an amazing job. I hope that the Alaska trip will continue as planned for you guys. Now would be a great time the camp out in the middle of nowhere.
You guys are doing great Job! Gladiator has been my dream for a while now but the way it’s set up right now it’s beyond my Jeep expertise! Any possible dates for drawing in mind? Thanks!
Thought something had broken down when I caught you two on the side of the road in Telluride. Sorry to see it's not a rare occurrence. Keep safe and I hope you find some down time.
This Gladiator is freaking nuts. On the internet note, we send out our field guys with a jetpack or some other device for internet in remote places. Might be something you can look into to help with this. Not sure if it'll speed up the upload rate but might allow you to stay in your bed.
AAAAHHHHHH DAMN!!!!!! The Fosterchild is coming out SWEET!!!! I saw the snorkle and I was wondering if you were going to sneak it in without saying anything... And the seats look sick. Very nice color coordination. Kevin, you got to give it away, cause I want it really BAD... I would drive that truck anywhere PROUDLY!!!! Now as far as the fenders, I think you will go with the slick fenders with the LED lights like the ones on the Stepchild... My guess and two cents... I can't wait to win it.... RIDE ON!!!!!
Wait a gosh darn minute!! A couple videos ago, I think in Utah, you walked through the shop talking about how we might be able to figure out what you are going to install in the Gladiator, and I think it turned out to be the axles. However, I spied a crate Hemi also in that video that you panned the camera to, so......no Hemi in the Foster Child? Supercharger? I've been waiting for you to announce the motor swap and now you say this is the final build video? Did you click bait us? LOL Hmmm. :) Much love!
My God, Y'all are going overboard! And it was a bit creepy, Kevin petting jelly like Dr. Evil and saying (im going to keep it!) 😂😂😂. I love y'all so much. Please stay healthy and safe!
I gotta say, I have ran a snorkel on my JKU for many years now. I ran CAI and stock as well. NOTHING will get you more and cooler air than a snorkel unless you port straight through the front of the jeep lol.
Did you get your rear drive shaft fixed or a new one installed, Jeep seem to do a EV. What about a HUAWEI B331 Router and HUAWEI B331 Antenna that you can carry with you and runs of 12V so if you have a mobile signal you have WIFI.
The stepchild looks FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. But what would really make it look better is it sitting in my driveway. Great job!!!! Someone is going to be very very lucky to get that, if you can make Kevin let it go.
That is just hilarious, I was thinking the exact thing!! Its turning out to be 1 heck of a build, that I wouldnt want to change anything on it....Kevin better hope I'm not the one who gets it...the cash IS NOT an option! UPDATE: Previously I stated what name I'd give the build if it landed in my driveway...although the name fit me to a Tee, 1st a step-child, then became an Earthpig...but...talking to my most awesomest Wife, I'd keep the name Foster Child in honor of her since she was in fact a Foster Child!! There it is, no name change if it comes this way!!! 🤪
