Grace was something else during this time, she was a rock goddess what a powerful voice. I may add that I love the 60s style so much omg this era was full of attitude, talent, uniqueness and so many amazing things.
David Crosby over there goovin, they can jam. She is something else. The signer they tour with now, I think is cathy Richardson. She also has that supremely powerful voice.
When I was growing up in the 60's my mum would sing somebody to love and other 60's hits. This gave me a good grounding for appreciating music in the 60's. I found the live version of this at woodstock. Awesome.
It looks like Dick Cavett introducing the band. “Somebody to Love” in 1969: Grace Slick (vocals) Paul Kantner (guitar, vocals) Jorma Kaukonen (lead guitar) Jack Casady (bass) Spencer Dryden (drums) Marty Balin (vocals, rhythm) David Crosby (vocals, rhythm)
In the fall of 1965 the Airplane played almost daily in front of the Student Union at Berkley around noon. Country Joe and the Fish also. I was 20 years old and was studying at one of the world's great universities. There was a poetry renaissance. There was great music, great films, great art. Now America is a hell hole.
@@Unclecthulu I really don't think it matters at the federal level. I think 99% of them are taking their orders from the one unipower in charge hell bent on the demise of this country. But if you're honest with yourself you've got to admit The states and cities that are run by Democrats are pretty much run into the ground. Just take a look at Seattle, Portland, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia, almost all of California, etc.
I was born in 1968 and so as I grew up and still a kid this sounded dated with what I was listening to in the late 70s, early 80s and beyond. Not now. This sounds fresh and new. I guess it's all about perspective. Very special.
I think it depended on the show. A lot of them didn't have the facilities for full instrumentation. I always wondered how the drummer faked though. Sometimes even the lip syncs are fun.
My favorite female rock singer...actually only one...Aretha Janis etc don't count...Grace was all rock...check out how she grabs the microphone...like a star
