When I discovered thios rndering, I found that the first movement was a bit too fast. Now I realize that the quartetists have fond a delicate equilibrium between tempo and expression.
I am always surprised by your comments. Amazing. To be honest, I agree this time the Jerusalem String quartet present it indeed in Allegro Moderato. But it sounds somehow self restrained, not natural this time. I like the quaret's early rendition much more. It was really "The lark', the streamy floating in the air, and changing altitude every now and again. This is how I see the music of this quartet, metaphorically speaking! But I can imagine the storm of critics they had received for their early work.

I am so happy that over 73 people have taken the opportunity to investigate this marvelous performance of this marvelous work and even happier that my wife and I have been two of them. They really are an exceptional quartet (as are the Bergs) and the tone of the 1st violin is breathtakingly beautiful. Their complete Shostakovich quartets are also amazing. I hope youtube will be able to offer more!
He is just an amazing violinist... it is so hard to play like him such beautiful tone, perfect intonation, great body language, and awesome bow technik...
Yep they are... i loved when Amihai played with them, but Ori is just great too... they are definetely one of the best string quartet, they seem to understand each other so easily
