I'm on my third year on the JET Program and I would say that if anyone reading this is interested id say go for it. It's a really amazing experience especially for someone who may have never lived abroad before. It can open so many new doors in your mind.
Hello there! I'm in high school right now and want to part of the JET Programme in my future. Are there things I should do right now to prepare? (i.e. classes, learn how to do certain tasks, etc.) I'd be really helpful to know. Thanks.
@@JeremyValdezYGO. Hey Jeremy, I'm going to apply to the Jet Program too this year. Some things I am doing to prepare myself are learning Japanese and taking the N4 JLPT exam this December. That may help out your application also. Best of luck!
This made me tear up dont know why lol But I want to be a teacher and I want to go around the world to see the different ways teachers teach from around the world. I'm also interested in Japan and currently in Japanese class. My sensei wanted us to watch this video. I was only dreaming about a program like this and finally I now know that it actually exists in this world. This is the thing I'm talking about. There's so much I want to do in Japan and this is one of them.
I have send my application though Japanese Embassy in South Africa, I so wish to be grated the opportunity and came and help to make a great impact to our nations like you guys are doing. May you continue with such precious work, I am so inspired
JET Program USA makes the false claim that having a TEFL/TESOL certification such as the CELTA would be an asset in the selection process. To all prospective applicants who would like to waste their time in applying: TEFL/TESOL certifications will NOT be considered. In fact, the whole hiring process is subjective. Former JETs are among the people who will determine whether or not you are invited for an interview. There are unqualified applicants who somehow get the job.
Wrong. COMPLETELY WRONG. TEFL/TESOL certifications are definitely considered. However, as with ANY job, having the right attitude and professionalism about working is the best things we look at. We've had PLENTY of applicants who were fluent in Japanese, studied in Japanese universities and were denied the job because of their approach to teaching and international relations.
