Nicolae and Vassile Covaci, from Dragomiresti, Maramures, Romania. Nicolae was the last local fiddler who had a repertoire of Jewish dance tunes. He passed away in Dec. 2016.
No doubt they're probably just dismissing it as ethnic hunky music, which is nothing but a total crock. (I've had to deal with the same b.s. many, many times from people in my area before). Even though I'm half-Romanian, though not Jewish, I already happen to know for myself what I like and I can relate to about my heritage.
