Do not be concerned about negative comments. You are doing a great job in teaching history. Ghandhi Jee started his struggle in India while Jinnah had already established as nationalist. Both came from Gujarat. If they had cooperated then history of India would be different. There may be private communication between the two leaders that we do not know.

Every one should have history teacher like Dr Ahmed so that we can have more educated Indians and Pakistanis and learning true history would promote more peace and harmony among us. As we are the same people just religion is different.

General elections were held in 1945-46 in pre-partition India. For each province what was the :- 1) Muslim population of the age of majority 2) Percentage, of the Muslim population of the age of majority, that was eligible to vote 3) Percentage, of the muslim population who were eligible to vote, actually voted for Muslim League?

Respected Prof. Ahmed, it is evident that Jinnah felt that Gandhi was emerging leader of both hindus and muslims too, which was not acceptable to him. Khilaphat movement was supported both by muslims and hindus too. While people of Turkey were struggling to establish a modern Turkey, muslims of Iindia were supporting continuation of khilaphat. Am I right Sir. My second question to you Sir, Leftist historians have written that during this movement, muslims in Kerela killed 10,000 jamidars due to their exploitation. New studies emerging in India, say that while opposing british empire during this movement, they actually killed 10,000 hindus, and leftists only have hidden this fact. Sir what do you say?

A popular Indian Twitter handle recently has said that the Muslim league attacked the Golden Temple in Amritsar (march 1947) and when this attack took place members of the RSS helped in defending this. As you are an expert on this topic can you tell us if this is true. As usual very informative lecture.

It is always a pleasure to listen to you.may be because of being born on the eve of partition and brought up in Pakistan’s ambience you could not internalise the ethos of india .it is good for the pakistAni audience and very good but as regards india the understanding somewhat lacks.may be because of your sources of information which may be partisan and lacking of a broad canvas.India’s prsonality is somewht mysterious and requires a mystique mind to understand it

I am amused. There is nothing as insufferable as self-righteous celebration of one's imagined greatness in comparison to the weaknesses in others. I get a fair amount of such crap from Pakistan too for being too linient on India. For me such arguments are indicative of a superficial grasp over facts and evidence.

There is no born right winger, it is a reaction. Right winger is a person who is feeling disturbed by the taunts he has to listen to five times everyday proclaiming the falsehood of his beliefs. If I hold your beliefs to ridicule, you cannot be expected to take things in stride.

If you keep getting ridicule for your beliefs it also doesn’t hurt to re-examine your beliefs once in a while.

rightwing is not born out as a reaction but grooming by hateful ppl of the teenagers. No rational man or woman can turn 'RW' after attaining a certain lvl of maturity.

Given what you describe, that the Ottoman emperor was defeated, weak, and neither the Allies nor Kamal Pasha were going to restore/retain him as the Caliph, wasn’t the Khilafat movement was doomed from the beginning? And Congress erred in fighting the British on that?
@worldcitizen3519
@worldcitizen3519 3 года назад
Respect Sir I do not agree to your argument that in Khilafat movement Hindus should have helped Muslims as the Muslims were fighting for freedom with them. Khilafat was a religious fight nothing to do with India's freedom. Muslims were also fighting for their own freedom from colonial empire. It is the greatness of the Hindus to have got involved in Khilafat movement. Did the Indian Muslims give back all the temples demolished and masjid built over them back to Hindus for the participation. The answer is NO.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak know as Lokmanya Tilak who was one of great freedom fighter of Indian freedom movement.. LAL-BAL-PAL was considered as trio of Indian freedom struggle.. where LAL is Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal is Bal Gangadhar Tilak and PAL is Bipinchandra Pal.. Also it is being said that Mr. Jinha consider Lokmanya Tilak as his Guru in his political career.. After death of Lokmanya Tilak in 1920 Jinha changed his path..

Gandhi then and Congress even today always appease the orthodox elements in the Muslim community in India. Gandhi supported the Khilafat instead of secular leader Kamal Atarurk Pasha. Had he laid the legacy of supporting modern secular elements, we won't have had to see the partition on religious lines. Same mistake was committed by Rajiv Gandhi when he reversed the Supreme court judgement on Shah Bano to appease the fundamentalist elements in Muslims while to appease the Hindu orthodox elements he opened the gates of Babri masjid /Ram Janmbhumi temple.

Thank you very much Prof sab for your series of lectures on Indian history and other topics. Being a student of history I learn a lot from you. Would you give lectures on the great game between Czarist Russia and British Empire. I am curous to kno your take on the 'forward policy' of british indian government which created the Dogra state of J&K that expanded as far as Gilgit and beyond with British blessings. The conflict on Kashmir is a fossil of imperial intrigues that have suffered millions of people in colonial slavery even now. Wiuld love to listen you Sir.
