I'm a converting. I haven't be able to find a Rabbi because I live in the south and the closest Temple is all out an hour and a half. I've been living as a Jew for almost a year now. I am an atheist but find myself pulled to the universe. I yearn for answers and a community. This place has helped me so much. Thank you for all that you do. Shalom ❤️
People have asked me if there is Jewish humor and my answer is to tell them to watch a Bob Hope movie vs a Marx Brothers movie. The brothers are always anti-establishment in a world of chaos. I think this is showing the world that those who oppress the Jews (the establishment) are a bunch of jerks below their classic veneer. Also, in the Magillah, I thought the funniest part was when the King says to Haman, No go and do exactly what you just suggested to Mordechai. But in Hebrew it reads something like "do it now and right away" Anyway good lecture.
Am I the only one who thinks the title art might have been designed by the Arian Brotherhood? That Jew caricature looks like something out of Nazi propaganda. Not humorous.
"Laughter In Hell" sounds amazing. My aunt used to have a huge coffeetable book called "Jewish Comedians". I was always the Patrilineal Jester of the family, because my Uncle Charlie introduced me to Red Buttons, they both came out of the Borscht Belt, I grew up hearing Jackie Mason albums and I went through tremendous pain being a Patrilineal all summer in my grandparents East Meadow house with an absent Jewish Father. I also had a copy of "The Joys Of Yiddish" in one hand and a KJV I was sent with as a child to "get my Jewish Agnostic Secular Bittersweet Grandpa SAVED"....😭🕎🧔⚖️🚸🗽🥰 Also, Schoolboy Bernie Friedkin was a friend of the family and he was so funny without trying. I LOVE THIS LECTURE RABBI😂
