Thanks for giving my mod Gravel Eater mod of the month! I work very hard to give everyone the best i can. This first ending is out but i plan on an alternate ending sometime soon!
The developers said in developer commentary. that five Pebbles can read pearls through the citizen ID drone but doesn't choose to because he doesn't want to interact with artificer. so reading pearls through the gates wouldn't be that law-breaking. lc_entrancezone-white (Remote Communication with Pebbles) Andrew: Pebbles was at one point going to have more interaction with the player. Andrew: The drone has the functionality for the citizen to communicate directly with their iterator. Andrew: Imagine poor Pebbles in the olden days having to put up with "Hey Siri"/"Hey Alexa" type of inquiries from the Ancients. Andrew: The player would be able to hold pearls up to the drone, and it would scan them. Then Pebbles would read the pearl contents remotely to the player via the drone. Andrew: But realistically, Pebbles would want to have as little interaction with the player as possible. also do you have more details on how the camera limit was exceeded.
The level editor doesn't let you place more than 20 cameras, but it can load a level editor project file that already has more than 20 cameras in it. So exceeding the limit is really as simple as opening up the file in notepad or smthn and adding more values to the #camera line. I was the first person to test out exceeding the limit, but had no practical reason to do so. It's cool to see it done for a good reason here.
YOU ADDED MY BOY ENTROPY? DNBSKDNDJDK that was one HELL of a surprise i WILL say, there was actually more added to the mod before this video released (it's had new intro art for a while now), and the spear damage being variable is something ive mentioned id like to add :] thats also not really All- a lot of the work of entropy goes into the level editing, where different areas have different dangers, but im not 100% done yet either so :P thank you for the surprise, it was very sweet
Technomancer's glow-up is crazy! The madlads actually went ahead and started "reviving" the world to make the time frame make sense. The train mechanic is just one of the very cool things that could come out of such a premise
Just so everyone is aware, Teleporting spear cat is highly likely to not be intentionally named 'The Prototype'. That name in the code is probably because the SlugBase template, used for making all custom slugcats, starts out automatically with the name The Prototype. The creator of the mod probably just didn't change that part of the template. Great video as always! :D
Honestly the vinki mod is one of the reasons I desperately want to be able to play rainworld on steam (curse you mac lack of gaming abilities on steam) and I think this realization has galvanized me to finaly make a PowerPoint on why we should just get a windows computer (my parents are convinces that mac has better security) so if you need me I’ll be doing actual research on computers (let’s hope I actually manage to see this through :0)
Really enjoying your mods highlight videos, that's what pushed me to start modding my rainworld myself, so thank you for that! Always picking the most interesting or more reliable mods out there from the new ones, very poggers, great job! Few regions still crash/freeze the game for me but it's the price of new rw content that can't be outmatched! Still absolutely love the randomizer and enhanced expeditions and such. Each time you cover a new region mod, I go and play it myself
The HxH references is a running gag, It's not supposed to make sense. He's purposely making loose comparisons in to each video so he seems like an obsessive fan of the series, that's the joke. It's okay if you didn't get it, us Brits can be quite dry with our humour XD
nice video. i dont actualy have any meaningful comentary to add but i wanna contribute to the algorithm so heres a transcription of my rather random thoughts. santa is so jolly you could probably hide a juggernaut suit underneath a costume.
oh i know prismsoup!!! he also goes by Sol! i think he's talked about a few more plans for where slugpup at some point actually! but i don't think i wanna talk about it on his behalf
WH!? SPEARSNAIL MENTION. Thats so cool. Anyhow, the spears do damage over time while stabbed into a creature, not increased damage. The poison also slowly deteriorates while the spear is imbedded in a living creature. Their biggest advantage is that the spears can stun creatues they are embedded in
I thought of a lot of things in the Technomancer's campaign that would change drastically because of Pebbles not being built. 1. The Exterior, Metropolis and Five Pebbles would not exist. 2. The Precipice would also not exist. 3. Shaded Citadel would not be dark, as it was only dark because the Five Pebbles Superstructure cast a shadow onto it. 4. Garbage Wastes would not have garbage as Five Pebbles dumped his stuff there. 5. No Long Legs anywhere. 6. Moon would be in great condition, and relatively young. 7. Shoreline (Which would be waterfront facility at this time) would be more flooded as Pebbles has not drained all of it. (I'm assuming that is where they get their water from) There might be more but who knows
also: The Ancients are still alive (who knows what that could result in) The rain may be much less intense, (mayhaps even non-lethal as there is no overclocked 5P nearby anymore and less iterators total.)
Im lowkey feeling like trying to learn how to code to make mods for the game, even if i didnt finished the game yet, im lowkey actually wanna make some cool shit
Oh what?? I always assumed Yeeks impotently flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water was how they were meant to function lol, they look so weird walking around!
I just found about you mod showcase series. I find them interesting, but it's a shame every single link always points to the steam workshop. Steam only allows people to download workshop item if you own the game *on steam*, so it bars people who bough it on other platforms from using those mods.
The "Prototype" can be kind of OP, yeah. Teleporting puts you in a backflip state, so if you throw again after teleporting you can teleport again, and the lack of cooldown means you can spam throw and jump to fly across a room, like the room in front of the subregion Looks to the Moon with the leviathan. In zero gravity you're tecnically always in a backflip state, being able to teleport at will by pressing jump, with that you can escape the Daddy Long Legs when they grab you with ease, and because teleporting bypasses the cooldown of spears, you can evicerate one with just one spear. There's already some nerfs, in it's diet and damage. Eating plants or large creatures gives you half, including centipedes, but meat a slugcat can eat normally, like jellyfish and noodlefly babies give normal food, alongside it needing 7 pips to hibernate and being able to store 3. It normally has 0.5 spear damage, which is editable in the remix menu to what I assume is from 0 damage to 10 in parts of 0.5, but near the end the UI gets kind of weird and I haven't tested it. I think it would be better for it to have Monk damage and having a limit to how many teleports in a row it can perform, similar to Artificer maybe, along with the diet. The limit probably wouldn't matter unless you're tp flying or bullying a Long Legs.
That said for some reason in it's campaign it starts with 6 karma, and in the hibernation screen it shows up with a poorly draw, pixelated and off center "5 - 5" symbol. But it IS in development, and I haven't checked to see what happens if I meet a echo/Five Pebble's.
