Slavery was rumored to be outlawed by legislation and the only thing that changed was adding the word, voluntary in front of it. I don't know about you, but I haven't volunteered for it and so for people like myself they raised the bar to include breaking the laws as voluntary enslavement and they proceeded to create over 30 million laws to ensnare all people in their jurisdiction. Just to be safe, they add 30-40 thousand more so-called laws every year to keep you in the network.
The only way for us to give up our "freedom" is if they offer "safety" people ought to realize they were safe before. You'd be SAFER without having to relinquish your rights!!

There is no illusion of choice. You are free and wealthy enough to live like a king in places like Thailand or even Mexico. Even becoming a plantation owner yourself. You don't even need a high salary for that. 5000 usd will get you very far in many countries
You think you can elect into office anyone you want? When's the last time "we" elected a President that WASN'T one of the two choices given by the Republican and Democratic establishments? And if you think we get to keep what we earn, I want to hear you say that on April 15th. The difference is, you can see the lies in the video, but you still can't see the lies you've been told.
And nothing has changed but most people sadly think Trump or Biden is going to make a huge difference... always a choice of a "lesser evil", which is not a choice, but a false dilemma fallacy.
People on fb literally justified to me that taxation is not theft. Yet i made a logical argument that it is theft. Then someone telling i wasn't being logical. They sounded like fucking socialist.
This is the perfect illustration of what I have maintained for ages. We're not free, we're free ranging slaves that is all. Free to leave the plantation, but only to go to another one.
Yes great analogy.. those free range chickens aren't even outdoors .. they are in the same packed dirty dark shed crammed in, they just take out the bars within and open a small exit in a corner somewhere none are likely to find and would be all on their own if they did.
Spot on! .. "free ranging slaves", who have to become debt & tax slaves to get along. Always said our only freedom is our choices. Since we own nothing but our clothes if we choose to become a financial slave. It would be wise for all the rising generation to know just how the system works; millions supporting the 1% parasites.
Best slaves are the ones who think they are truly free. How can we be slaves we get weekends off *and* four weeks holiday... Set the right conditions and you will get the best yields from your free range slaves. If you think you are really free try going somewhere or doing something with no money. Money is a means to control and oppress! Worthless, meaningless pieces of paper backed by nothing yet control everything!!! Awaken from your slumber my friends...

I try to undermine bogus paradigms, in the hopes people will then go looking for sane ideas.

And I love how people make up new criteria for what counts as freedom, so they don't have to face their own enslavement. They say, "Well, we can decide what KIND of work we do, so we're free!" Or, "Well, we're not FORCED to work--though they take a cut if we do--so we're free!" How about the real meaning of freedom?: what you earn belongs to you.
When talking about these concepts with friends a long time ago, they always told me things like 'so you want to live under a dicator, like in North-Korea? Be happy bla bla'. Or another classic 'yeah it is bad but what can one person change?' Brainwashed, completely indoctrinated and now, when the destructive system they uphold is breaking down as it was intended to do, they complain, point fingers, still not realising the prison they are in is build by themselves.
"This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector." (Plato) It was true two thousand years ago. It is still true today.

Being a home “owner” was a huge wake up call for me. You become enslaved in the mortgage, the yearly upkeep costs, and THEN the property taxes. You never actually “own” anything. It makes more sense to buy an RV and live in that or be a renter forever
Wow, you really have been falling for Mr. Smith's BS. According to you, there are things vital to our existence, which--for some bizarre reason--we wouldn't or couldn't fund VOLUNTARILY. No, we'll only get what we need if politicians forcibly rob us, and then spend the money for our benefit. I wonder, are YOU too stupid to fund the things you need, or is it just everybody else? "We need massuh forcing us to work, and taking what we produce and spending it for us, for our own good!" Good grief.
Who were you addressing there Larken? Thank you VERY MUCH for the video BTW. People still need SOME level of government though, or greater decisions which affect all citizens could never be decided. The problem is *corruption* and society's tolerance of it. With a vigilant society, limited government could be used to the benefit of all, whilst constantly checked by the people. The problem is though is that people WON'T do that - they are too LAZY. They think politics is a luxury for someone else to ponder and decide on; they don't see it as the civic duty that it is, an *essential* civic duty. I know I have just critically faulted my own proposal. So it's 6 of one, and half a dozen of the other. I don't really think that human kind is ready for such organised systems. The best of systems are constantly corrupted or fall apart, and have within them the seeds of their OWN downfall. Until the individual human being learns to *self-regulate*, we will be little better than self-satisfying, uncritical, apathetic, selfish and unjust as we were in the Dark Ages, just with a lot of high tech toys which only seem to further our egocentricity. Instead of screaming "WITCH!!" and pointing with pitch forks, people are screaming "WITCH!!" (non-mask wearer) and pointing with camera phones. Big long despondent sigh... How would you wish things?

Anarchy? Some version of the as-yet-untried 'true' model of communism/collectivism? @@pierstheoneandonly I agree with much here. As we well know, we are in the society in which we find ourselves in, 'governed' by governments, according to *their* rules etc. Are you talking 'Freeman' philosophy?? Good to talk to you btw.
I'd say that statement is accurate, but incomplete. The myth of "authority," when wielded by tyrants, is not used just to deprive us of material wealth--which would be bad enough. Instead, what drives true tyrants is the desire to deprive their subjects of their HUMANITY, by replacing their free will and self-determination with the will of the tyrant. In short, "government" is the engine for love of dominion: the epitome of evil, and the opposite of humanity.

"If I could save the Union without freeing any slaves, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it, and if I could do it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also so that." - Abraham Lincoln
@@mrright2288 It's because it isn't the whole quote. Later in the very same transcript Lincoln wrote that he thought that slavery was morally wrong and when the opportunity to abolish slavery arose, he would take it. Northerns frequently criticized him for not banning slavery earlier, but he needed to have strong militarization in the South for the Proclamation to have any effect. Yes, his main goal was to keep the Union together, but his hope was to have the South rejoin and them work out a compromise to both ban slavery and appeal to southern citizens which explains the quote.

The response i have got so far from most that have seen this is: "Yes i understand, but i dont understand the alternative for how to live without politicians" And then i have to try to explain something simple, that still take a long time to explain, and then i lose most of them because if it can not be explained in one sentence, they think it is to complicated for them.. Its kind of like colours, colours is simple to explain if you simply can show it to them, but hard to explain with words alone. Imagine a slave that have lived in a dark cell all his life and never seen colours, and then you shall explain colours to this slave without being able to just show him colours. That is how i feel when i try to explain the possibility to live as a free person without leaders to common people. The most important thing to learn here is to educate oneself and understand how governments cheat, lie, deceive, steal, kill, repress and much more, and we are still believing what they are serving us. It's almost inconceivable what we put up with all these years. We the people need to wake up and form a reliance group to revolt against such repressions in our world. We need no longer listen to a few who make us believe they have all the answers, which in my experience they clearly don't have. Get educated and educate others.
Thanks for the vid! Reminds me of this story. There was a man in a room with only a table, chair and a door to the outside world. The man got up and went to the door and opened it. He was met by a man with a baseball bat who beat him and threw him back in the room and closed the door. Over time, this process was repeated -until one day- the man went to the door, opened it and the man with the baseball bat was gone --so he went looking for the man with the bat.
More than government, which is as here just part of the story. Banking too is essential and finance = debt management, which are chains we choose. The system has government as a part of the whole. The same slave owners control all these and we do not even get to play. Which is why certain families have many presidents and Prime Ministers in their heritage.
How weird is it that most people get this question wrong?: You're a customer in need of some product or service, and you get to choose one of the following: 1) A company tells you what it will do, and what the price is, and you can decide whether to take the deal. 2) A company will tell you what it will do, FORCE you to pay whatever price it demands, and then do whatever the hell it wants. Which of these arrangements is more likely to serve your interests?
@@Sionnach1601 Needing and wanting are totally different things. People priduced their needs on their own with far less knowledge and/or technology for a *very long* time.
Ever wonder why the slaves arn't yet free? They think guards are present. They must first be free in the Mind. No escape for those who think they are not in chains.
Watching this video again from time to time is like walking a spiral path of life: while the path may seem like a full circle, the understanding gets deeper.
When someone's message amounts to, "Here's why we NEED to violently intervene in what would have been voluntary, peaceful interaction," I don't really give a damn what else they have to say. It's not like we don't have plenty of examples of voluntary interaction, as compared to centralized, forcibly-imposed collectivist authoritarianism. The latter is immoral and destructive, regardless of the excuses egg-heads fabricate.
This one is such a great parable. Beautifully done Larken. I am a fan. I may not agree with you on everything, but I like your attitude, your light, and a lot of your stuff. You do good work.
Three questions: 1) Can you delegate to someone else a right that you don't have? (For example, assuming you think it's bad for you to commit murder, can you make it GOOD for someone ELSE to commit murder?) 2) Can you have a moral obligation to do what you think is wrong? 3) Can human beings MAKE something bad into something good? (For example, can mere mortals make murder into a good thing?) For these questions, YOU get to decide what is good and bad, and what those terms even mean.
Well, I had to get in the equivalents of all the essential myths we're taught, and hopefully give the viewer a chance to notice the problem BEFORE Samuel spells it out for them. Hey, the fact that I kept the thing down to about twelve minutes is an accomplishment, considering how much I usually ramble on and on. It was over 15 after the first draft. Yeah, the MTV crowd might not make it all the way through. Hopefully some people will.
Actually, it's really damn easy to logically prove that statism--regardless of the specific "flavor" (democracy, republic monarchy, etc.)--is inherently bogus. Trouble is, statists always run away from the simple questions that demonstrate that. It is the believers in "government" who are incapable of having a rational discussion about the topic; not me.
couldn't have said it better myself despite trying for decades. i see you've had just about as much luck as me getting through to the masses. such is life.

You are all free to go off grid and hunt wild game, grow your own crops, mend your own clothes, chop wood for a fire, tend to your own wounds and diseases, and build a cabin in the woods. Just watch out for those forest fires they been setting to discourage such behavior. The system isn't perfect, far from it, but take a hard look at the alternatives as well. If you can think for yourself, do your best no matter what and you may come out on top. Survival is not always that easy - system or no system, government or no government; if things get too unbalanced because of unchecked greed and excess abuse of power, the people will typically take a stand against their oppressors and it usually doesn't end well for either side.
@tabbirt7770 Ha! Ha! So funny! 🤣 Now start choppin' that wood and tend to your farm! Those cows need milking, and there's nothing shameful about that! Working for yourself isn't necessarily easy. It sounds free, but then you have customers telling you how to do things unless you hire someone else to work those "menial" tasks. lol
And you think that, when the bad outnumber the good, it will HELP to give SOME of those people--undoubtedly the BAD people--PERMISSION to violently control and rob everyone else, is going to make things better? Or do you somehow think that a bunch of bad people are going to elect good people to keep them in line? Try THINKING about the BS you were taught, because "government" as a concept is utterly insane.
Well done, Larken. I like how you demonstrated the "horizontal enforcement" of the rules when the slaves cheered Samuel being beaten. People are afraid to think outside of the box, live off the grid/under the radar, or any other life alternative NOT because they're afraid of what the mayor, governor or president think, but they worry about what their spouse/neighbors/relatives think.
I can give you an example of how the story would have little impact on some people (although I myself found the story extremely thought provoking and see the clarity it provides in everyday life). People who have been totally conned into their “belief state” can just state that this story is fiction, there was no Jones plantation, and so it has no real basis in reality (or their reality). I know quite a few people who would not accept the premise and further state that if you don’t vote for the “better candidate”, you will be worse off in the long run as your right to vote would be tossed away.
