On our recent headline tour of North America, we paid a visit to the RU-vid studios to play a 30 minute set. Thanks to all who came and who watched. RRMx www.thejoyformi... / joyformidable www.myspace.com... / joyformidable
buy their records so they have money to keep playing!!!!been a fan since first release.. if you dont' buy their records they don't make money to eat and keep making more records... SPEND YOUR MONEY so they keep making us music.
Okay, the crowd made it into the wrong studio, they were extra's for "the walking Dead"! Words cannot describe this band, they are way beyond their time! Unbelievable performance!!!!!
Unreal talent. Reminds me of when pearl jam goes into their jam in the middle of rearview mirror. This band has perfected a sound that hits you in your soul. Bravo. I simply can't get enough.
Mods them with a split rail in the bridge, and she's all set. There's another concert where she starts off with a white Strat w/gold pick guard. At some point there's an issue so they swap it out for a black one with a broken headstock. I'm trying to find more info on it. It looks like it had some kind of repair to keep the high E tuner in place. While I'm more of a Tele guy, I love my 89/90 Am Std. Strat. Probably the easiest playing guitar I've ever had my hands on.
@@mrbobawesome Nice info....yes, I am like 50/50 on Jazzmaster & Stratocasters. Love to see Strats used in this type of music by band like TJF and Nothing. She has this cherry sunburst Strat in a video from KEXP and I love that finish.
@@awolsurf-TC I've wanted to get an offset Fender for a while, but haven't yet. What kind of JM do you have? I love the look/vibe of the J Mascis Squiers, but haven't played one.
@@mrbobawesome Ahhhhh, yes, you need one. So I started with a cheapie Squier lefty model, probably $350. It's not a terrible guitar, BUT...I just got a proper Jazzmaster American Pro or whatever it's called off Reverb. it's a great guitar, you can really feel the difference in your hand, makes the Squier feel like a toy almost. And yes, the sound and tone is markedly better. Now as for the Mascis, I probably would have picked up one in a heartbeat but as far as I know they don't make it lefty. But people I talk to love theirs. See if you can score a good deal on a Fender Jazzmaster online or whatever, you won't regret it. LOL the pandemic has brought like-minded guitar heads together online for lack of anything better to do!
@@awolsurf-TC I keep an eye out, just haven't found the right deal yet. I'm watching the KEXP set now trying to figure out what amps Glitzy's using now. Something newer. She was using a pair if Hotrod Deluxes before.
I agree, definately when you see this band live you sense that you are in the presence of greatness. And why cant this crownd sense this? They are a special band and I cant wait to see them.
Seen them a couple of weeks ago in front of the Foo Fighters and all i can say is DAMN, this band can get a crowd jumping. They are such a power house!
I am 44, seen just about everybody, this band hammers down in a way that few can. Seen them 3 times, they just get better and better. Just because Ritzy is not Stevie Ray Vaughan or Eric Clapton, don't be crass. You wish you could do half of what she does.
Seen these guys live twice now, the pure energy that they scheduling is so ducking raw. One of the best bands to see live, and I can't wait until their next album
She looks like the bastard child of Courtney Love and Penny from Big Bang Theory... but Veeeddddyyy Niiiiiiicceeeeee and great songs too. There's this ethereal ambience in their sound that I can't quite put my finger on it or even describe it well. It's like there's so many subtle layers of melodies and sounds going on and they blend so well together that every time I listen to one of their songs I hear something that I didn't hear before and it's like I'm hearing it for the first time again. It reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins in that sense. It's such a beautiful breath of fresh air in this era of stagnant, carbon-copied, cheesy pop-rock bands.
Certainly not the only woman. There's a compilation of women in noise with 100 female artists, noveller from new york being a personal favorite. The major difference is that ritzy blends it so seamlessly with pop rock. She's my current fav guitarist for sure.
