Dougie I can remember having a granada like the one at the show it was a 2.3 auto ,the guards here in Ireland chased us all over the country in it they never did catch us great old motor
On my cars i always use NGK iridium plugs when i have to change them. Same/equivalent heatrange. These are very hard wearing and provide superior strength spark. Maybe something to consider? About those multi-belts: they do wear. The sides of those tiny V's wear away which leaves the bottom of those V's to transmit the power. That's less cm2's to do the drive leading to belt slippage. On a new belt the drive is done by the sides of those V's. A new belt it's gotta be to get rid of that squeek.

c18xe cams should be bigger lift than 20xev edit info suggests c18xe used 2 x20xev exhaust cams but this could still be an old forum myth x20xer 256 degrees 10,16mm lift x20xev 252 duration 8.5 mm lift x20xer is (european) mk4 astra opc 1 non turbo opc btw) a better 20xev
@@adellisdevelopmen6593 cams are same part number, pistons look the same so I've no idea why C18XEs would often make more power than a X20XEV. Hopefully it goes well
